Picking up from yesterday's commencement of filming in Bourne Wood, Surrey, England, Thor: The Dark World star Chris Hemsworth has finally arrived to the shoot, wielding Mjolnir & sporting his slightly new ‘Thor’ armor. And joining the action with actress Jaimie Alexander, who was pictured yesterday in character as Sif, photos via Mail Online & Splash News feature the two Asgardians rehearsing & filming battle scenes back-to-back.

Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor: The Dark World” follows the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and earth. And as his evil half-brother, Loki, returns for Asgardian justice, a new threat rises. Also rejoining Thor are his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and Warriors Three, as they encounter mythical Norse creatures among evildoers.

“Thor: The Dark World” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Jaimie Alexander, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Rene Russo, with Alice Krige & Kat Dennings. And Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) takes over directorial duties from Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first “Thor” film. From a screenplay by Don Payne and Robert Rodat, “Thor: The Dark World” is set for release on November 8, 2013.

marvel72 - 9/11/2012, 9:35 AM

Jolt17 - 9/11/2012, 9:45 AM
That sixth image...

New costume's looking great, too. I'm ready to take back my previous skepticism toward this movie, now, thanks to these images.
Valandil - 9/11/2012, 9:45 AM
I was expecting the helmet since this is a big battle... but I'm not one of the guys who are pissed off by that.
LorenzoVonMatterhorn93 - 9/11/2012, 9:46 AM
they added a skirt to his suit!? ...real nice
GodzillaKart - 9/11/2012, 9:46 AM
Best armor yet! Boot and pants are a big improvement!
GodzillaKart - 9/11/2012, 9:46 AM
@blackandyellow: What are you basing that on? The trolling handbook?
DaenerysTargaryen - 9/11/2012, 9:46 AM
Glorious!
AlexdoxA - 9/11/2012, 9:47 AM
"Is that a mini light saber coming out of your pants, or are you just happy to see me, evil twin brother?"
deanwilkins - 9/11/2012, 9:47 AM

Kayo - 9/11/2012, 9:48 AM

LoudNoises - 9/11/2012, 9:48 AM
@marvel72

Better yet, just edit out all the earth scenes. 2 birds, 1 stone.

Looking forward to Alan Taylor's take on Thor though. Should be good.
TheLokey1 - 9/11/2012, 9:48 AM
No helmet? Fail.
hoperidesalone - 9/11/2012, 9:48 AM
Does Grif ever say anything other than "shit movie"? It seems like he doesn't even like comic book movies. Why does he frequent a site about comic book movies?

TheAbomination - 9/11/2012, 9:52 AM
Mother of Christ, that suit looks majestic.
WOTAN - 9/11/2012, 9:53 AM
Yes for the armoured pants that just like the comics!!!! The movie looks great so far i cant wait for a trailer.
CarlXVIGarfield - 9/11/2012, 9:54 AM
It seems more medieval. Battle gear or flashback perhaps?
MartianSupermanhunter22 - 9/11/2012, 9:55 AM
Still no helmet.
Valandil - 9/11/2012, 9:55 AM
Looks cool... but the bad guys costumes looks crap.
KaneVonDoom - 9/11/2012, 9:57 AM
Boots and pants look good very good. I like how the top circles are more like clasps for the cape. I like the front flap thing but think it may look a bit better if they were able to sort of streamline it in with the body armor rather than have it look so separate from it... I dig the costume a lot. The boots are definitely one of the coolest parts.

I'm not too bothered that he doesn't have a helmet but if they did use it more in this movie, that'd be a nice surprise.
GodzillaKart - 9/11/2012, 9:57 AM
@blackandyellow: Fair enough.
Boogie138 - 9/11/2012, 9:57 AM
this flick can't come out soon enough
Logan5 - 9/11/2012, 9:57 AM
No helmet, but here's a cover for your loins. :P I dig the slight alterations!
marvel72 - 9/11/2012, 9:58 AM
@ supes17

XD hahahahahaha i agree i'm hoping for a few scenes where kat dennings is wearing a nice tight white t-shirt which gets soaking wet at least three times. :P

@ LoudNoises

i agree, there was only two good earth scenes in thor.

1.stan lee cameo

2.the destroyer segment
GodzillaKart - 9/11/2012, 9:59 AM
Here's a bit of blasphemy: I think Hemsworth look far better without the helmet, and am glad they are not using it.
thalidomide - 9/11/2012, 9:59 AM
This is getting better and better.
