While the majority of filming is complete, the first photos of Russian actress Svetlana Khodchenkova on the set of Fox's X-Men: Origins followup, The Wolverine, have surfaced online via HughJackMania. After Total Recall actress Jessica Biel had to turn down the role, Khodchenkova's inclusion in the Hugh Jackman-starrer had yet to be confirmed. But thanks to a heads up via StarkIndistries.Ru, the actress is now seen sporting her ‘Viper’ garb, surrounded by armed apparent villains, at an unknown filming location. Hit the images below to enlarge!

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, “The Wolverine” finds Logan (Hugh Jackman), the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed. Also starring Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee and Svetlana Khodchenkova, James Mangold directs a screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback. And “The Wolverine” is scheduled for release on July 26, 2013.

Looks like David Bowie.

I love the 'Bunnings Warehouse' umbrella in the shot as well as the Australian bucket cap. Clearly the Australian film crew like to be inconspicuous.
DukeAcureds - 10/10/2012, 9:54 AM
This is so the comic brought to life. They've even made Wolvie all Miller-esque.
KaneVonDoom - 10/10/2012, 9:56 AM
Apparently, Fox has no problems dying people's hair. I wonder why they decided not to go green here? I feel it would add to the character even though it's a minor thing.
blvdnoise - 10/10/2012, 10:04 AM
Man, I hope this thing turns out.
ManofwooD - 10/10/2012, 10:10 AM
Is this film talking place in the present because i'm a little confused with the time line in these X-men movies.
luffycapri - 10/10/2012, 10:10 AM
No green hair I see.
TheRaven20 - 10/10/2012, 10:15 AM
Looks nothing like the comic character...
DCjohnny - 10/10/2012, 10:18 AM

amxt - 10/10/2012, 10:18 AM
heh heh... love that it has Rila [frick]ushima in it!
KaneVonDoom - 10/10/2012, 10:18 AM
@Alex Lynch... right-o... My bad. Do you know if this is a character from the comics, because I am completely unaware of any other female Viper in Marvel. I know of one male in The Serpent Squad with Sin, but that's all I can recall.
blvdnoise - 10/10/2012, 10:19 AM
Homegirl w/ the fanny pack got a donkey!
JordanKing - 10/10/2012, 10:32 AM
Guys, this is 20th Century Fox we're talking about. Respecting source material isn't in their job description.
Jollem - 10/10/2012, 10:38 AM
"marvel studioite" propaganda will undoubtedly follow anything that doesn't have a marvel studios sticker slapped on it
Stumblin - 10/10/2012, 10:39 AM
Aww...they're trying :)
BackwardGalaxy - 10/10/2012, 10:41 AM
Dis is Viper?
TheIconicMan - 10/10/2012, 10:41 AM
Isn't her hair all green? OH COME ON FOX!?
Jollem - 10/10/2012, 10:47 AM
this is justin hammer from the comics next to who marvel studios chose to play him

this is just one of the many examples why marvel studios takes as many liberties as any other production company
Equivocal - 10/10/2012, 10:48 AM
Madame Viper ???

Madame Hydra ???

which one is it ? I thought Hydra was a term that Marvel has the rights to it ???

what's the story here ...... ?
DukeAcureds - 10/10/2012, 10:52 AM
I think they're merging her character with Yukio, from the Graphic Novel, who had similar hair. The Silver Samurai is in this, to and there is a lot of plot between Viper and the Silver Samurai. As Viper, Silver Samurai and Yukio all figure into the Wedding of Logan and Mariko (which would easily fit on to the end of the graphic novel), it would make a bit of sense to merge Yukio with Viper.
DukeAcureds - 10/10/2012, 10:54 AM
Equivocal@ Good point. Fox screwed Disney on this one, huh? And yet still no Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver from either studio.
Stumblin - 10/10/2012, 10:54 AM
@ Jollem, yeah but the majority of Marvel's movies don't suck. Much like Fox's.

Let's see here...All of the X-Men movies (that's right all of them were pretty bad the second was alright but wasn't an X-Men movie) minus First Class. Fantastic Four, Daredevil (both theatrical and director's cut blew)

So yeah, Fox's track record so far is pretty bad.
DrDoom - 10/10/2012, 10:54 AM
I hope this doesn't mean that Madame Hydra can't appear in Captain America sequels.
Hopefully looking like this:

HelaGood - 10/10/2012, 11:06 AM
i agree! looks NOTHING like the character. why did they even bother using this character if she isnt going to look like the character?!?!?! stupid FOX!!!!!!!!
Jollem - 10/10/2012, 11:11 AM
@Stumblin - i am of the opinion that all three x-men films were good. i was 18 when x-men 1 came out. yes, it was a big thing and many people loved it. many people loved x-2 and i liked x-3. i liked the director's cut of daredevil and there are some redeeming qualities i can say about the fantastic 4 movies as well. i have not seen elektra, but i always meant to at some point. first class was pretty good and there are parts to origins that i liked
Jollem - 10/10/2012, 11:27 AM
@MARVELPSYCHO79 - the surfer was boss. galactus cloud? why, that's almost as silly-sounding as space whale :) i shudder to think how that would go if they tried to make galactus look exactly how he does in the comics. maybe one day
Inhuman - 10/10/2012, 11:30 AM
wait a second! how does fox own viper??? shes a marvel studio character because of her ties to red skull and hydra??? wtf! [frick] fox
megabatfan - 10/10/2012, 11:32 AM
I understand a director wanting to put his creative touch on a comic book character. Even his decision to make things more grounded... But a costume in some form is needed. I'm not asking for spandex. I'm not asking for the exact same design of that in the comics, but a costume non-the-less.
Hey, X-men (1-3) plus First Class had costumes that were updates/ changes to their comic book counterpart. But they were costumes non-the-less.
Hasn't Marvel Studios proven it can work with Black Widow & Hawkeye? I shuuder to think what Silver Samurai will look like
TheSoulEater - 10/10/2012, 11:32 AM
She's cute, this should be good

Optimus83 - 10/10/2012, 11:33 AM
this is not Madame HYDRA. ...
megabatfan - 10/10/2012, 11:43 AM
@MARVEL
Sorry to scare you dude... But it is daunting. I so want this to be good
DioFoRio - 10/10/2012, 11:45 AM
@Blvdnoise...damn straight
Minato - 10/10/2012, 11:51 AM
Silver Samurai set pics FTW! I can't wait to see how they Fox this one up.
Jollem - 10/10/2012, 11:57 AM
@MARVELPSYCHO79 - yes. marvel studios should be very thankful for george lucas' company
jimoakley666 - 10/10/2012, 12:02 PM
Viper dyed her hair green when she was working for Hydra. I wonder if her not having the green hair is a Marvel stipulation. But then again, she may dye her hair in the movie. We don't know yet.
Jollem - 10/10/2012, 12:06 PM
frick fox because of hair color? you fanboys are so petty...and entitled :)

how about frick marvel studios 'cause they dropped the ball on Demon in a Bottle with iron man? or turned him into a quirky, spastic, one-linery jokester-which is not his character? or had iron man reveal his secret identity right away, which was never really part of his character for decades? or had him hand in his playboy card after he got the puppy-love goin' on right off the bat? or many, many other things marvel studios has mucked with in all of their movies?
HeadPool420 - 10/10/2012, 12:06 PM
Wait if shes in this does that mean HYDRA is in this to?
Theunderdog - 10/10/2012, 12:10 PM
Shitty take on madame viper I hate the [frick] of these. where is green hair
Stumblin - 10/10/2012, 12:11 PM
@ Jollem, but non of those movies brought in as much money has Marvel Entertainment's movies.

There was nothing redeeming about Daredevil or FF. X-Men trilogy was fun but hardly X-Men movies, it was all about Wolverine and the characters were two dimensional.
