Marking the production's forth day this week on the University of Greenwich's campus, today's filming for Thor: The Dark World not only sees the return of Chris Hemsworth and his stunt-double, but also the Ancient race of Dark Elves; and possibly their ruler Malekith's double for Christopher Eccleston. Anyhow, photos and videos from today precisely feature the titular God of Thunder taking on a villainous Elf, with deserted cars and wreckage surrounding them.

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

In addition to “Thor: The Dark World”, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on more iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel (title TBA) on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

NostalgicYouth - 11/15/2012, 8:26 AM
Yeah I'm first. I'm going to go masturbate in my basement now.
Gus - 11/15/2012, 8:36 AM
But I'm already in your basement...
Is that modern day Thor in the last pic?
Gus - 11/15/2012, 8:43 AM
Okay, well now it's not the last picture as everything was rearranged... I think.
MyInnerDork - 11/15/2012, 8:56 AM

MyInnerDork - 11/15/2012, 8:57 AM

QuanZen - 11/15/2012, 8:58 AM

MisterNiceGuy - 11/15/2012, 9:08 AM

samsupes - 11/15/2012, 9:10 AM

It's amazing how people havent figured this out yet
samsupes - 11/15/2012, 9:10 AM
Looks like his face willl be half a different color based on injury like two-face
Greengo - 11/15/2012, 9:12 AM
Cool school.
MisterNiceGuy - 11/15/2012, 9:13 AM
And did they also mention what Malekith's motives are going to be? Like is it tied into anything done in any of the phase 1 films?
GammaVerve - 11/15/2012, 9:35 AM
Wreckage! I love destruction.
jimpinto24 - 11/15/2012, 9:36 AM
Great pics! I'm freaking pumped for Thor:TDW!
superotherside - 11/15/2012, 9:42 AM
Fantastic stuff. Can't wait for the trailer... too bad we can't have it sooner than in front of Iron Man 3...
thatdylhooper - 11/15/2012, 9:47 AM
I bet that car cut in half will be a big deal
MisterNiceGuy - 11/15/2012, 9:48 AM
Thats what i figured. Having loki make deals with all of these different evil forces makes the most sense because it almost forces him to turn to his brother and become "good", for lack of a better word.
DrDoom - 11/15/2012, 9:49 AM
I want a trailer naooooooooooooooo
aztecRaingod - 11/15/2012, 10:00 AM
Enough cars being destroyed.

I wanna see Thor wrecking shit like in the comics, bringing skyscrapers down and shattering mountains.
KryptoniteSmoker - 11/15/2012, 10:02 AM
The way Malekith's face looks....reminds me of a frost giant burn. Maybe he's had an interaction with Loki or a frost giant??
AlexDeLarge87 - 11/15/2012, 10:10 AM
awesomesauce :P
AlexDeLarge87 - 11/15/2012, 10:15 AM
But yeah hope Thor vs Dark Elves causes some serious damage to the buildings near them.
Optimus83 - 11/15/2012, 10:23 AM
more Dark Elves. ...¡¡¡Good!!!
Fogs - 11/15/2012, 10:27 AM
Pretty sure jane has something to do with they're being on earth. She probably opened a portal or smth.
Cosmic1 - 11/15/2012, 11:53 AM
I really like the new north face armor
DCwanabe - 11/15/2012, 11:57 AM
Pffff LOL @Cosmic1
Sanderman - 11/15/2012, 12:00 PM
The Dark Elves will probably tie in with Odin somehow because in the Avengers, Loki says something to Thor about how much dark magic did they have to use to send him back to Earth
Lazenca - 11/15/2012, 12:29 PM
@sanderman loki was refering to dark energy which is the stuff that is causing the universe to expand. Physisists don't know what it is yet.
Funsize - 11/15/2012, 2:01 PM
Did Malekith braid his hair or something in the last pic?
birdfists - 11/15/2012, 2:39 PM
Why the hell is Thor wearing human attire..?
aztecRaingod - 11/15/2012, 3:51 PM
This fight isnt taking place on earth. They already said that Greenwich University is doubling as Svartalheim. They are going to add CGI to the buildings.
Ranger14 - 11/15/2012, 3:58 PM
"Why the hell is Thor wearing human attire..?"

That's the double. In the 4th image you see Thor and the the double together.
TheCaptain - 11/15/2012, 4:19 PM
Holy crap I can't wait to see this fight! I wanna see them smashing through buildings and stuff. But we're only seeing what they can shoot practically.

@birdfists, Um because its a stunt double who is off camera o.O
TheCaptain - 11/15/2012, 4:20 PM
Its obviously on Earth, there aren't wrecked cars on Svartalheim lol.
TheCaptain - 11/15/2012, 4:32 PM
I honestly think that quote was misinterpreted.
TheEnd - 11/15/2012, 9:44 PM
Trailer now please ! :D
aztecRaingod - 11/16/2012, 1:32 AM
AG, LOL. Good point, I didnt notice the wrecked car.

By "misinterpreted" I think you mean "completely false" !
aztecRaingod - 11/16/2012, 1:33 AM
Check out the second picture down. Look at the stunt doubles ear.
