New Look At Hasbro's 3.75" IRON MAN 3 Figures?

Possibly offering an imitation of additional suits of armor that'll appear in the anticipated Marvel threequel, Hasbro's 3.75-inch action figures based on Iron Man 3 may have surfaced.

As previously reported and confirmed by Diamond Select Toys solicitations, at least 40 new suits of armor will be existent sometime during Iron Man 3 next summer. What's unknown, however, is whether all the suits will be identical, presumably to Tony Stark's mostly golden armor, or if they'll be different in design. Assuming the latter, we may have an early look at three of those armors.

A China-based eBay seller is advertising what seems to be the first look at Hasbro's upcoming wave of 3.75-inch action figures inspired by the Shane Black-helmed actioner. Assumed to be knockoffs initially, Idle Hands dug up an earlier fitting description, via Hasbro, seemingly deeming them legit.

“IM3 Iron Assemblers Action Figure Assortment: 14 "Connectable" figures (wave 1, Feb 2013) with multiple interchangable pieces to deliver max customization. Wave 2 in Mar & Wave 3 in Apr.”

It's usually typical for Hasbro to development tie-in figures that won't exactly feature in the movie. However, with over 40 suits being packed into Iron Man 3, it's not completely unimaginable for those other comic-like designs to finally appear on-screen. The promo photo (above) even offers a faded look at what Tony Stark's new Hall of Armor (after his home is destroyed as seen in the trailer) will look like design-wise; which'd certainly fit the many suits. What do you think?

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968. “Iron Man 3” is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures & DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing & Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Charles Newirth, Stan Lee & Dan Mintz are exec producers. The film hits May 3, 2013, & is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pict.

Moakynubs - 12/22/2012, 8:44 AM
I think at a certain point they just make random toys to sell random toys. ..It's easy to tell where that point is.
Wolven87 - 12/22/2012, 9:01 AM
the white one looks edible. made from white chocolate and oreo's
MyInnerDork - 12/22/2012, 9:20 AM
Since Hasbro is officially revealing their IM3 figure line on Feb. 9 I think it's safe to say these are all crappy custom-made figures.
Spideyguy94 - 12/22/2012, 9:20 AM
they look awful.
elessarundomiel2382 - 12/22/2012, 9:22 AM
However they did say that with his new armour Tony can control multiple armours and we will see that in the movie. So whether some of these are real or not............these figures are still CRAPPOLA
TheGuillotine - 12/22/2012, 9:25 AM
"So whether some of these are real or not............these figures are still CRAPPOLA"

You have to remember they are also only 3.5". Scaling them up that big can point out flaws one cannot see at actual size.

wearethewalkingdead9 - 12/22/2012, 9:27 AM
so the 4th looks like rescue, 5th looks like a villain and 6th looks like ghost kinda
DioFoRio - 12/22/2012, 9:31 AM
@Wolven87 lol....tasty
Castle0715 - 12/22/2012, 9:34 AM
Omg it's rescue!!!!!!
gedafe - 12/22/2012, 9:39 AM
I agree with everyone--4th pic is Rescue (albeit in new colors). It has a more streamlined helmet and the chest plate has armored b@@bs. However, as for the toys, unless they get some major articulation in the joints, I'm not sure they are anything worth getting.
DioFoRio - 12/22/2012, 9:43 AM
@DCFresh.....does Jimmy know you're playing with his toys? He's gonna be pissed! So that is Rescue huh? Nice!
CPBuff22 - 12/22/2012, 9:46 AM
These look like happy meal toys.
IIIAdamantiumIII - 12/22/2012, 9:48 AM
they look like prototype figures
Valandil - 12/22/2012, 9:58 AM
Hasbro sucks. Toy Biz was so great...
Scabsallover - 12/22/2012, 10:10 AM
Ironman fans: is there any function or purpose those shoulders serve besides Stark having to turn sideways to get through a doorway?
hope420 - 12/22/2012, 10:20 AM
Those look like cheap knock offs.
Rhys - 12/22/2012, 10:37 AM

This caught my attention the other day...
sameoldthing - 12/22/2012, 10:57 AM
These sculpts / figures are awful.

Toy Biz was the best..Marvel deserves better.
marvel72 - 12/22/2012, 11:04 AM
they look alright if that's your thing, personally they don't float my boat.

if i was into figures i'd probably buy the hot toys versions.
Almight - 12/22/2012, 11:33 AM
The lack of articulation in recent toys boggles the mind.
teabag - 12/22/2012, 11:33 AM
I have seen better looking happy happy hour hookers :)
Robert - 12/22/2012, 12:15 PM
I'll just wait for Hot Toys to release their version.
TheAbomination - 12/22/2012, 12:30 PM
Lol @ the Fast and Furious 6 logo directly under it. Also, that hall of armors looks pretty insane, imo.
CaptainAmericano - 12/22/2012, 12:31 PM
wow. thats alot of armors.
avengersleagueofjusticeforamerica - 12/22/2012, 12:31 PM

ive always loved the 90's armor
LP4 - 12/22/2012, 12:37 PM
Look I'm no Marvel fan but i don't understand all the negativity regarding these toys. They look like they'd be good for collectibles especially to Iron Man fans. Heck, I'd collect them all.

Darth258 - 12/22/2012, 12:40 PM
Ah.. the good times when toys had articulations.. where are they?
JorLBola - 12/22/2012, 1:01 PM
Ugh This new toys are becoming more and more smaller and cheaper...
Those doesn't even have articulations !!
WingDingaLing - 12/22/2012, 1:31 PM
These look like cheap bite off iron man toys from the dollar store. Then again ALL toys look like that NOW.
Darth258 - 12/22/2012, 1:40 PM
Even the Iron Man 2 Megablocks were more articulated and better looking than this. Shame they don't have the Marvel rights anymore. As blocks they suck, but the figures are and were excellent.
TrueBeliever2 - 12/22/2012, 3:09 PM
The white armor is for when Tony joins Fantastic Foundation/Four Lol Nice
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 12/22/2012, 4:20 PM
*Sigh* Poor, Poor ToyBiz. We need you now, more than ever.
ComicBookGoth - 12/22/2012, 4:26 PM
i find their lack of articulation disturbing
Grabthemcakes - 12/22/2012, 4:58 PM
Not sure why they need to get cute and change the paint on Iron Man’s armor for this movie. The main suit he’ll be wearing looks awful. Too cartoonish & looks likes it is trying way too hard. Should have just stuck with the original.
Vapes - 12/22/2012, 7:38 PM
Boo, 3.75.
I can't even buy these anymore. They just suck. Mass produced, sloppy, cheap.

Bring back 6 inch figures! Quality, not quantity!
mgeoff88 - 12/22/2012, 8:29 PM
Hmmm, that's the second time the IM3 toy merchandise has featured the Stealth armor.
Jolt17 - 12/22/2012, 8:48 PM
Crap.

I miss ToyBiz.
MilitaryStormtrooper - 12/22/2012, 9:05 PM
Man, these look like these would be sold by some poor, deseparate and stupid street vendor here in Mexico
gaikinger - 12/23/2012, 12:20 AM
These could be from the Metal Man series of misfit knockoffs.
LEEE777 - 12/23/2012, 6:14 AM
Bring in the Marvel Legends range... these 3 inch wonders suck :p
gammabolt17 - 12/23/2012, 10:32 AM
Yeh, like someone above said, I'm going with Rescue, Coldblood and Ghost for those last three.
ChivesMcKay - 12/23/2012, 5:08 PM
Toys keep getting worse and worse. The Marvel Legends toys from about six years ago were the best.
D1OfficerJackass - 12/23/2012, 9:47 PM
These aren't even Happy meal quality toys! My eyes feel violated by just looking at them.
inkslinger616 - 12/24/2012, 10:51 AM
Those are hand painted chinese bootlegs and I would have expected to see them at the flea market you know next to the bootleg Spider-man figure that is for some reason riding a motorcycle that looks suspiciously like the bat pod and the Transmorphers: Robots in COstume and bootleg DVDs that have no language settings so you end up watching Prometheus in German 5 times before you finally get to see it english...yeah fake.
