Having yet to get official word about the inevitable love interest of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we’ve been left to speculate; learning, instead, which actresses from the reported shortlists are no longer in the running. In the case of Felicity Jones, whose name made the first list alongside Anna Kendrick and Imogen Poots, it’s a matter of whether the actresses were ever in contention.

Felicity Jones was speaking with HeyUGuys recently about her new drama film, when she was questioned whether there was any legitimacy to the Captain America reports. Without hesitation, the English actress admitted, “No, I’m not part of that. I haven’t auditioned for that one and I never even saw the script.” Despite Jones’ comments, Anna Kendrick provided some substance to the shortlist last September, telling reporters, “All I know is that I can not really say anything.”

The other actresses that’re still vying for the mystery role, widely believed to be Sharon Carter, reportedly include Emelia Clarke, Jessica Brown Findlay, Teresa Palmer, Alison Brie and Imogen Poots. All should be revealed sooner or later, especially considering the April Fool’s day start date that ‘The Falcon’ actor Anthony Mackie recently confirmed. Scheduled to film in Cleveland, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., Ohio reps reassured that Captain America: The Winter Soldier will feature the usual “action scenes, chase scenes, stunt scenes,” similar to The Avengers. “It may not be in downtown proper, but similar to those action scenes.” What do you think?

Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where the highly anticipated film “Marvel’s The Avengers” leaves off, as Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D, and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world. Starring Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo, Cobie Smulders with Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson, and directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and is scheduled for release on April 4, 2014.

Why would you not want to involved in this kind of a movie?
RexDartEskimoSpy - 1/19/2013, 12:23 PM
She can't be in the movie because she's chained up in my basement.

Kidding! My place doesn't have a basement.

Damn she's hot... But no, not Sharon Carter... Seems like Marvel are going for really young actresses for the role... Whatever, as long as the end result is good, Im happy...
Dnofsky - 1/19/2013, 12:51 PM
She's beautiful. I loved her in 'Like Crazy,' but I'm happy she's not going to be in it. The first Captain America was a bad movie and I don't want to see her fall off the radar like Hayley Atwell. Not that Haley Atwell is or was ever on the radar but I have high hopes for Felicity Jones' career.

Bring on the new Cap film!

i agree, she was damn good in like crazy. so i definitely wouldn't mind her playing Agent 13 but still... i really liked the idea of Haley ATwell playing her.

Cute girl but I would rather have Kristin Stewart play Agent 13.
jessepostal - 1/19/2013, 1:58 PM
@oh, I know it's you Kristin
ButthurtKurvos - 1/19/2013, 2:03 PM

I love Felicity Jones, she is beautiful and really talented
but I don't think this is the right role for her, although I think she'd be perfect in a CBM.

I think they should go with Imogen Poots!
she's blonde, beautiful, talented and British!

I would drink her urine.
ahhmynuts - 1/19/2013, 6:27 PM
i just want a big breasted woman thats easy on the eyes....
is that too much to ask for??
jessepostal - 1/19/2013, 7:05 PM
How the hell is that considered sexy? She looks like a dirty 7th grade mouth breather
mgeoff88 - 1/19/2013, 11:09 PM
Wait, I thought Imogen Poots was officially out of the running? Lol, this is getting confusing!

Since Sweet Pea(Abbie Cornish) isn't on this list, I want Jessica Brown Findlay to play Sharon Carter.

If Imogen Poots is really back in contention, then she would be my top choice again. Damn, now I'm confusing myself. :P

Man, am I the only one who thinks that Imogen Poots is not hot at all?
ColonelKilgore - 1/20/2013, 3:15 PM
@GrayMatter, No. I don't think she is at all. Also, her last name is a synonym for farting.
mgeoff88 - 1/20/2013, 9:31 PM
@GrayMatter

I think she's hot. To each his own. :)

@CaptainKilgore Her last name being Poots is a complaint? Lol! It's just her maiden name. Obviously, her last name isn't intended to be a synonym for farting. That's silly!
MrRockway - 1/21/2013, 12:41 AM
Still hoping for Mary Winstead, and no, she never say 'i'm not doing it', different from Felicity all she says was ''i don't know where this rumor came from' maybe cuz until marvel turns official she can say anything. Mew had a new hair cut now in january, a little Sharon Carter size ...

still hoping.
Stark12 - 1/23/2013, 8:31 AM
fingers crossed for Alison Brie!
