Josh Trank's FANTASTIC FOUR Gets A Script Polish; Reboot To Explore Deep Comics Mythology

With light details on Josh Trank's direction for the new Marvel adaptation, a report has revealed that the Fantastic Four reboot has had its script polished by Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter scribe.

In light of X-Men: First Class helmer Matthew Vaughn joining the Josh Trank-directed adaptation of Marvel's First Family as a producer, production on Fox's The Fantastic Four reboot is progressing. Now according to The Hollywood Reporter, best-selling author and screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith was recently tapped to polish the film's screenplay, which was originally penned by Jeremy Slater. Grahame-Smith's credits include Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. In addition, THR reports that Josh Trank is aiming for a "grounded superhero and sci-fi" approach to The Fantastic Four reboot. And the film, currently scheduled for release on March, 6, 2015, will delve deep into the comics mythology. Like Marvel Studios, this alludes to the inclusion of several elements such as Doctor Doom and Galactus (again), or even the alien race known as the Kree, among other things. What do you think?

I think they might re-do The Coming Of Galactus with the Kree facing doomsday for a prologue, and Doom working with the F4 to stop Silver Surfer, only to obtain his powers. It was an old rumor when this project was rumorly titled "Fantastic Four: Reborn" that the film would include many villains centering around Galactus.

While it's nice to get right to Galactus (since they [frick]ing him up before), this sounds a little too heavy. But bring on the space exploration. 'Bout [frick]ing time.

They'd work up to Galactus lol why would they start with him? 1 - Mole Man/ origins 2- Inhumans/Kree 3 - Galactus/Doom

Terrible, terrible, terrible....... looks like FF wont be brought back to Marvel Studios smh. If Marvel Studios had FF we wouldnt be having a Guardians film, instead it would have been FF to introduce the cosmic side of Marvel. Damn you FOX! Im so pissed about Marvel Studios not owning all their characters. I understand Spider-Man and X-Men having their own universes because they're just as big in their own way, but c'mon man FF has no place sharing a universe with X-Men. FF belongs with the MCU. The last remaining characters Marvel don't own are FF, X-Men, Spider-Man, and Ghost Rider. I was hoping FF and Ghost Rider would be the next ones to come back but oh well..

@HavocPrime Winner! Agreed! I figured the same. An X-Men // Fantastic Four crossover film with Galactus could rival The Avengers, honestly. Plus, I think Galactus is too big for the Fantastic Four alone. Get Wolverine and Cyclops involved in the fight.

No matter what we say, FF and X-men will never go back to Marvel, which isn't really such a bad thing. I think FF, X-men, and Deadpool will have successful stints at Fox and Ghost Rider, Punisher, and Spiderman will eventually revert back to Marvel Studios.

@Avengers52, Punisher belongs to Marvel Studios. The only characters Marvel Studios doesnt own are Spider-Man and his related characters, X-Men and they're related characters, Fantastic Four and they're related characters, and Ghost Rider.

I actually think studios are learning. They understand that they need people who actually understand the comics to be involved. It may mean that you can't get the best director or writer, but there is also less of a learning curve and perhaps less risk.

i really want a decent fantastic four movie based on the hickman run,it could happen with josh trank directing but can fox & the writer of abraham lincoln vampire hunter deliver the goods.

i doubt it.
