In light of X-Men: First Class helmer Matthew Vaughn joining the Josh Trank-directed adaptation of Marvel's First Family as a producer, production on Fox's The Fantastic Four reboot is progressing. Now according to The Hollywood Reporter, best-selling author and screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith was recently tapped to polish the film's screenplay, which was originally penned by Jeremy Slater. Grahame-Smith's credits include Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. In addition, THR reports that Josh Trank is aiming for a "grounded superhero and sci-fi" approach to The Fantastic Four reboot. And the film, currently scheduled for release on March, 6, 2015, will delve deep into the comics mythology. Like Marvel Studios, this alludes to the inclusion of several elements such as Doctor Doom and Galactus (again), or even the alien race known as the Kree, among other things. What do you think?

Really hope the villain is Ronan The Accursed. If Fox is committed to doing MCU2, atleast make it good please
Rhinoman - 2/26/2013, 4:39 PM
That being said, don't hire someone that did Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter
dellamorte1872 - 2/26/2013, 4:43 PM
Why would you want this guy? One film of his was never made and the other film bombed!
AmazingFantasy - 2/26/2013, 4:43 PM

Red co-star Karl Urban"It's a good rumor."

So this dude worked on Dark Shadows and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Terrible.
95 - 2/26/2013, 4:54 PM
I think they might re-do The Coming Of Galactus with the Kree facing doomsday for a prologue, and Doom working with the F4 to stop Silver Surfer, only to obtain his powers. It was an old rumor when this project was rumorly titled "Fantastic Four: Reborn" that the film would include many villains centering around Galactus.

While it's nice to get right to Galactus (since they [frick]ing him up before), this sounds a little too heavy. But bring on the space exploration. 'Bout [frick]ing time.

They'd work up to Galactus lol why would they start with him? 1 - Mole Man/ origins 2- Inhumans/Kree 3 - Galactus/Doom
Inhuman - 2/26/2013, 5:04 PM
Terrible, terrible, terrible....... looks like FF wont be brought back to Marvel Studios smh. If Marvel Studios had FF we wouldnt be having a Guardians film, instead it would have been FF to introduce the cosmic side of Marvel. Damn you FOX! Im so pissed about Marvel Studios not owning all their characters. I understand Spider-Man and X-Men having their own universes because they're just as big in their own way, but c'mon man FF has no place sharing a universe with X-Men. FF belongs with the MCU. The last remaining characters Marvel don't own are FF, X-Men, Spider-Man, and Ghost Rider. I was hoping FF and Ghost Rider would be the next ones to come back but oh well..
JMESS - 2/26/2013, 5:04 PM
cant be worse than the first 2, or atleast heres hoping it cant.
dellamorte1872 - 2/26/2013, 5:05 PM
I bet they'll stay away from silver surfer and use terax
marvelstudios - 2/26/2013, 5:05 PM
GIVE IT BACK TO MARVEL!!!
HavocPrime - 2/26/2013, 5:06 PM
I can see Galactus being left for the inevitable cross over between the FF and X-Men tbh.

Do Fox own the rights to the Kree, and the other alien races?
gambgel - 2/26/2013, 5:06 PM
havent seen this writer movies, but...
is it that hard to get a bigger name for the superhero movies?
CherryBomb - 2/26/2013, 5:08 PM

Yes!
so excited <3
soberchimera - 2/26/2013, 5:11 PM
Mole Man should be the villain. How awesome would it be to see Giganto on the big screen?
TheSuperguy - 2/26/2013, 5:12 PM
Let's see the FF done right this time!

Oh, and Trank, where's CHRONICLE 2?
hawkeye123 - 2/26/2013, 5:12 PM
If it's mythology they want, then it's definitely the right time for the FF to discover THE NEGATIVE ZONE!!!
OrgasmicPotatoe - 2/26/2013, 5:16 PM
There goes my hopes for the Venom movie getting a move on for the next two years...
95 - 2/26/2013, 5:17 PM
@HavocPrime Winner! Agreed! I figured the same. An X-Men // Fantastic Four crossover film with Galactus could rival The Avengers, honestly. Plus, I think Galactus is too big for the Fantastic Four alone. Get Wolverine and Cyclops involved in the fight.
Ace101 - 2/26/2013, 5:17 PM
God friggin damn it! Jus fall into development limbo already!
bazinga85 - 2/26/2013, 5:18 PM
They hired the guy who did Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter? That's worrying.
NoJobBOB - 2/26/2013, 5:18 PM
Hated the first 2 FF's. I hope they do something, anything to make it better.
FrenzyFreak - 2/26/2013, 5:20 PM
No matter what we say, FF and X-men will never go back to Marvel, which isn't really such a bad thing. I think FF, X-men, and Deadpool will have successful stints at Fox and Ghost Rider, Punisher, and Spiderman will eventually revert back to Marvel Studios.
ATrueHero1987 - 2/26/2013, 5:24 PM
Fantastic Four...grounded...? For other sci-fi movies, that may work but F4...?smdh
DRMidNite - 2/26/2013, 5:26 PM
It's a mad house!
Inhuman - 2/26/2013, 5:31 PM
@Avengers52, Punisher belongs to Marvel Studios. The only characters Marvel Studios doesnt own are Spider-Man and his related characters, X-Men and they're related characters, Fantastic Four and they're related characters, and Ghost Rider.
ATrueHero1987 - 2/26/2013, 5:33 PM
@Avengers52 The Punisher rights have been back with Marvel since 2010.

Why can't they talk to John Byrne and Jonathan Hickman on how to do F4??
thecruscore - 2/26/2013, 5:33 PM
GIVE IT BACK TO MARVEL!!!

GIVE IT BACK TO MARVEL!!!

GIVE IT BACK TO MARVEL!!!

GIVE IT BACK TO MARVEL!!!

GIVE IT BACK TO MARVEL!!!

GIVE IT BACK TO MARVEL!!!
ricko8687 - 2/26/2013, 5:34 PM
Fantastic four could and should rock give this project a chance
Shamo - 2/26/2013, 5:38 PM
movies gonna be shit.
Andrewch7 - 2/26/2013, 5:39 PM
Get Hickman to consult... or better yet, do a screenplay draft! The guy has been the only writer to make FF cool in the last 20+ years.
IgnurRant - 2/26/2013, 5:41 PM
Would love to see the original cast come back as Ultimate Version of the Frightful Four.
superpooper - 2/26/2013, 5:41 PM
Give it back to Marvel.
IgnurRant - 2/26/2013, 5:42 PM
And a creepy trip to the N Zone in the style of Event Horizon.
