one of those armors in the mass battle look like the bleeding edge
TonyChu - 5/12/2013, 11:54 AM

MrMartinMarvel - 5/12/2013, 11:54 AM
Concept art always looks spectacular.
bluehit - 5/12/2013, 11:54 AM
Horrible movie, Iron man, The Disney Christmas Special really sucks
avengers72 - 5/12/2013, 11:56 AM
Awesome looks like they were going for a more Norman Osborn look on IP
MrMartinMarvel - 5/12/2013, 11:59 AM
So that's why IP always looked off. They made it primarily blue as opposed to red like the comics.
MrYurMomm - 5/12/2013, 12:00 PM
This might be the first "The Art of.." book I buy from marvel, followed by Thor
Lenbert - 5/12/2013, 12:03 PM
I'm still so disappointed by this movie, I'm not the biggest comic fan but I do have a basic knowledge of Iron Man's villains and this movie was a total let down. Anyone that really didn't mind the twist really doesn't know much what so ever about Iron Man.

I must say the Iron man armours were a great idea but they moved so quickly and the action was so brief you never had time to appreciate them so all this concept art seems pointless.
Anyone else feel that the fx wasn't finished on the Iron men, after watching one and 2 the armours all seemed to lack realism looking very cgi compared the other movies.

IM3 was just a smack in the face.. I do honestly pray marvel don't [frick] up Thor as for captain america I found the first film very painful to watch as captain americas powers consisted of him just jumping and throwing his shield i would have liked a bit of strength thrown in besides his cartoonish shield bumping people.

Anyways rant over sorry guys.
MrMartinMarvel - 5/12/2013, 12:04 PM
@Lenbert I din't mind the twist and I'm relatively big Iron Man geek.
MrMartinMarvel - 5/12/2013, 12:05 PM
*Didn't
SpectacularJoShFest - 5/12/2013, 12:06 PM
The Iron Patriot looks great but he should have been bigger...he didn't really feel like War Machine...I mean...it wasn't, but he was supposed to.

DJRock93 - 5/12/2013, 12:11 PM
This is beautiful I so wish this stuff had been used :(
DioFoRio - 5/12/2013, 12:14 PM
I think they design of the Extremus looking all tech like would have been a better choice. Make it like self replicating nano-bots that gave back limbs and gave superpowers. Instead of the fiery one they went with.
DioFoRio - 5/12/2013, 12:14 PM
Me too Splenda...thought when they showed the commercials when he was on the gurney he was getting it put in him. Oh wells : (
DioFoRio - 5/12/2013, 12:16 PM
I think for the next outting they need to expand the suits powers. UniBlast and all that good stuff. Give us some new tech! : )
DioFoRio - 5/12/2013, 12:19 PM
Yeah Splenda....When they took him in and she was interrogating him I was like "HERE WE G......wait, huh?"
Still really dug the flick. BTW your boyfriend is back ; )
Ciph....now I get to see some good banter with you two again!
tumpai - 5/12/2013, 12:24 PM
Such a shame about the Mandarin.
Ocelot - 5/12/2013, 12:26 PM
@DioFoRio the fiery stuff was something you would see in a Thor or Dr Strange movie, just doesn't go with Iron Man, Nano bots and augmentations would have been a better way to go out about
DioFoRio - 5/12/2013, 12:27 PM
right!@Marvel...and it would remind you of the tech aspect to it...the whole Science vs Science.
DioFoRio - 5/12/2013, 12:27 PM
Exactly Oss!!!
Hulk2008 - 5/12/2013, 12:28 PM
-Great concept art

-Great actors

-Disappointing movie

DioFoRio - 5/12/2013, 12:38 PM
I feel bad for those who genuinely didn't like it and I totally get it. But I dug it and in saying that still hope to see a comic accurate Mandi show up some day.
DioFoRio - 5/12/2013, 12:39 PM
lol splenda ; )
StarYeezus - 5/12/2013, 12:42 PM
RDJ looks like he just popped out of the actual Extremis comic. One word: Awesome!

rocky - 5/12/2013, 12:45 PM
I love that Mark 17, that is totally badass

Gonna see the film one last time during the week. Such an awesome film I can't believe all the snark it's getting
JoeMomma29 - 5/12/2013, 12:47 PM
Very pretty, I hate looking at some of these concept ideas because they are always so awesome and look better than what comes in out in the movies.
thejfather1 - 5/12/2013, 12:56 PM
cool stuff, i like all the different armors. Movie didnt blow as much as people keep saying imo, but yes, the mandarin thing was a little silly
DioFoRio - 5/12/2013, 1:01 PM
@Joemomma...wonder how much is budget constraints and how much is creative decision?
AC1 - 5/12/2013, 1:03 PM
@Lembert I've been an Iron Man fan since I was five, the only villain I knew of (until the first movie was released) was The Mandarin. I think Iron Man 3 is Marvel Studios' best film, one of the best superhero movies I've watched, and I think the twist was handled very well and it worked. There's a difference between being a fan and a purist. A fan appreciates all the good things involving the character, even if there are deviations from the source material; a purist is someone who doesn't like change or being surprised, someone who is obsessed with all the details being identical to the original.
AC1 - 5/12/2013, 1:04 PM
Going to watch it for a third (probably final) time on the big screen this week.
Minato - 5/12/2013, 1:15 PM
Ive watched this movie 3x in theaters 1 in IMAX and I got the bootleg and watched that 7x at least. This movie is a great movie but it does have its flaws. The Mandarin twist was ok, Killian as the bad guy was good too. I like how Shane Black put his twist to the franchise and still made it feel like a Ironman film. I enjoyed the times when Tony wasnt in the suit as much as the times he was. His breaking and entering Trevors miami home was a highlight to me. I honestly dont understand a lot of peoples negative reactions to the film as a whole. I guess when you dont make the movie everyone expects its a bad thing now. IM1 (9) IM2 (7) IM3 (8)
thewolfx - 5/12/2013, 1:22 PM
The concepts are usually always better smh

Especially the original look for the new armor , looks just like bleeding edge armor my personal fav
thewolfx - 5/12/2013, 1:29 PM
@acira

So if they did the same thing to say .. joker

People who would have a riot started wouldnt be fans but purist?

See kid you missed your own point

What they did to mandarin wasnt a positive change.
DoubleD - 5/12/2013, 1:40 PM
I have to admit I am bored of both Iron Man an Batman. It's time they both take a vacation from solo movies.

They can show up in the Avengers or Justice League movies, that's fine but no more solo movies for awhile for these two characters.
breakUbatman - 5/12/2013, 1:51 PM
Adi Granov - Beast

Adrian Killian got his Metal Gear on, the whole war economy thing and his final battle - NANO MACHINES, SON!
DJRock93 - 5/12/2013, 2:20 PM
I just think it's so tragic that he blew up gemini!! It had so much potential and a killer paint job to boot
Vonkrieg - 5/12/2013, 2:34 PM

"So if they did the same thing to say .. joker

The is huge world of differance between the Joker and Mandarin. Joke is Hugely important to the DC comics. Mandarin is really a nobody. Now if it were Doom or Magneto that would be a game changer.
DJRock93 - 5/12/2013, 2:50 PM
@NPa not sure but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man's_armor#Iron_Legion
