“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” picks up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014. In addition to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on other iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

TheWolverine08 - 6/7/2013, 9:33 AM

JoeMomma29 - 6/7/2013, 9:34 AM
@ TonyChu

Yup and he is rocking those khaki pants as well, hey can moonlight as a dancer for GAP!

AlexanderLykins - 6/7/2013, 9:34 AM
Good to see Steve in a pair of Nikes. I was worried with the whole S.H.I.E.L.D. Under Armour shirt. Nobody likes S.H.I.E.L.D. anyways so it's all good. I think Scarlet was wearing a pair too.
CapFanLex005 - 6/7/2013, 9:35 AM

@CubanRaftRider
"Bucky isn't wearing his goggles... Maybe Cap knows who it is at this point?"

That, or the angles don't require them for the stunt guy.

Did someone call backup?

TheClemster - 6/7/2013, 9:43 AM
I love backup :)
Luigi - 6/7/2013, 9:46 AM
I like to see him fight in casual clothes, I have no idea why. I'm glad to see them cutting down on the CG with all of these set photos. I don't mind CG in super hero films, but the first had almost as much green screen as the Phantom Menace.
Luigi - 6/7/2013, 9:47 AM
Is it just me or does Bucky's stunt double look like Edgar Wright :/
TheWolverine08 - 6/7/2013, 9:48 AM
@JoeMomma29 Oh my! I would have liked to see that Captain America during Avengers!
JoeMomma29 - 6/7/2013, 9:52 AM
You and me both!
cbcurry - 6/7/2013, 10:03 AM
Me....Me I called for backup!!!!
MrMartinMarvel - 6/7/2013, 10:06 AM
Winter Soldier keeps getting more badass by the photo.
TheFox - 6/7/2013, 10:06 AM
Man, Winter Soldier looks great here! They pretty much nailed the look from the comics (with the exception of the mask, of course). And I can't wait to see what that arm looks like when it's all C.G. enhanced, too-- as long as it has the big, red star on the shoulder, I'm happy!

Looks like WS is kicking Caps butt.

Did Chris Evans get fight training? His swing in the first pictures looks way too wide. You would think Cap would be a better fighter. All WS has to do is block it (which it looks like he's doing) and lay a haymaker on a wide open Cap.

@Joemomma29. She would have made a lovely Sharon Carter.
Ocelot - 6/7/2013, 10:07 AM
where the [frick] is Crossbones
Luko - 6/7/2013, 10:36 AM
Cap dont kick your oponent to the balls.6th pic...this is out of the rules..
opencurtain - 6/7/2013, 10:36 AM
Right in the Gonads.
TheFox - 6/7/2013, 10:37 AM
@ParisSun: It's stage fighting. Bigger punches read better on film. Editing and camera placement can hide the fact that they're not even coming close to hurting each other, without robbing the fight of its energy.

You can't judge the quality of a cinematic fight sequence, or the choreography therein, by looking at a bunch of candid still photographs taken from a block away.

Why isn't he in his suit :/
Equivocal - 6/7/2013, 10:53 AM

this is looking pretty good so far, can't get enough of Chris Evans !
ManDeth - 6/7/2013, 11:08 AM
Evans looks like hes playing Steve Austin (Bionic Steve Austin)in those clothes.
ManDeth - 6/7/2013, 11:12 AM
@thewonderer Some street thugs take his suit and shield and wont give them back. And these thugs were trained by Seagal so theres nothing Rogers or the Avengers can do about it.

SkateandDestroy88 - 6/7/2013, 11:13 AM
This movie is going to be so awesome. Bring it Marvel. Captain America is da Man.

It will be interesting to see how Marvel steps up there game movie forward. With Gardians coming down the pipeline and Everything else leading up to Avengers 2.

It doesn't even seem real. Like after watching Iron Man one and being teased at a shared superhero cinematic universe.
ruadh - 6/7/2013, 11:32 AM
@Ocelot
In a differing [frick]in' scene.
leXheX - 6/7/2013, 12:15 PM
am I the only one whose worried about cap's hair. since when was he a bottle blond?
jimoakley666 - 6/7/2013, 12:18 PM
You've gotta love stuntmen who look nothing like the actual guy. John Woo loves them so much he puts them, cringeworthily, in all his slow-mo shots. seriously, watch the speedboat scene in Face Off and look in awe at the "obviously not Nic Cage" fighting the "is he supposed to look like John Travolta".

Silly!
patriautism - 6/7/2013, 1:13 PM
That arm is glorious. Also, I like the shoes, it's like he dresses kind of like an old dude, which is a nice touch.
Luko - 6/7/2013, 1:31 PM
I thought Mr.Evans prefers Puma to Nike LOL!
marantaz - 6/7/2013, 2:27 PM
I used to own a Hyundai Santa Fe that color! Great vehicles, Hyundai. Hope it survives the fight.

alw - 6/7/2013, 2:40 PM
Hope this movie shows what caps strength can do! look what he did to those punch bags in avengers and holding a motorbike with 3 women on above his head.as far as I'm aware winter soldier has Olympic level skills and a bionic arm,a haymaker from cap like in those set pics should tear his head off minimum!
Jollem - 6/7/2013, 4:42 PM
nothing too impressing or exciting so far. hopefully that'll change soon
Blastaar - 6/7/2013, 4:50 PM
Bucky has been working out WAAAAYYY more than Cap, his arms are huge compared to Cap's.
0bstreperous - 6/7/2013, 5:23 PM
I hope we get a lot of bucky
macfint - 6/7/2013, 7:58 PM
I dont get it, doesnt winter just have a bionic arm??
How is he a threat to Cap? I'm in regardless, but.... IDK.
