With Marvel Comics dishing out box office hits more than ever lately, Hollywood heavyweights are being sought out for roles in the ever-expanding franchise adaptations. Exemplifying that with a missed opportunity, Alec Baldwin was a guest on the Howard Stern Show last week when he was asked why no one has offered him a villain role in a superhero movie. "I have, but I won't mention which one," Baldwin revealed. "I don't want to undo somebody because they hired someone else to do it. But they asked me to play a villain in one of these Marvel Comics movies," he reiterated. As to why he turned down the role, the 55-year-old actor said, "I wasn't available, they wanted me to work a certain time. And because of my wife's pregnancy, I had to turn down two films this summer that I wanted to do." Even after Howard Stern pressed him for details, Alec Balwin said he would only disclose the role off-camera. Oh well! However, considering that his wife is supposedly six months pregnant right now, that leaves The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Guardians of the Galaxy as possible Marvel movies that Alec Baldwin would have played a villain in. What do you think?

Macksimus - 7/28/2013, 8:46 PM
Either Norman Osborne or Redford's character in Winter Soldier.
Robert - 7/28/2013, 8:47 PM
Family comes first, so I understand his reason.
Jollem - 7/28/2013, 8:49 PM

LEVITIKUZ have you read his batman script acouple years backit was horrible i know you love darren but trust me you will hate what he does to batman he is a director who will change canon and source material to fit his vision of the character.

quick example darren's batman script had alfred not as a butler but a mechanic who was also black
LucasMend - 7/28/2013, 8:59 PM
Captain America: The Winter Soldier of course. it's obvious, it was robert's role.
TheShroud - 7/28/2013, 9:00 PM

@P862010
I agree, that script was God-aweful. That was not even Batman. I'm nervous as to what his Wolverine would've been.
Nap60 - 7/28/2013, 9:07 PM
Good thing he wasn't hired.
WeaponX93 - 7/28/2013, 9:08 PM
Back on topic, he was probably going to play Redford's character.
halvor311 - 7/28/2013, 9:10 PM
He'd make a good Thanos or Darkseid.
backup - 7/28/2013, 9:14 PM
Whatever tgemovie, it'll be better without him. No good name dropping bastard
Dandy - 7/28/2013, 9:16 PM
Possibly Trask......the character is a bit of sleezebag and those are the characters Baldwin usually gets typecasted as.
norseman79 - 7/28/2013, 9:16 PM
Alec Baldwin is already the leader of F.A.G.

Team America...

TheSoulEater - 7/28/2013, 9:21 PM

mctrinket - 7/28/2013, 9:22 PM
Trask or Redford's character in Winter Soldier.
Risingsun - 7/28/2013, 9:24 PM
My guess is that he was going to be playing Robert Redfords part in the CA movie. Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't awhile back RR said he was playing a villian?
astromerc - 7/28/2013, 9:25 PM
I heard this on the Howard Stern Show live, I hope Howard brings it up again (or Joe Q calls in as he sometimes does) to let us know what up with the role. Howard Stern ROCKS!!! He does the best interviews, period!
typicalfanboy - 7/28/2013, 9:25 PM
probably robert redford's role in captain america: tws. i couldn't see baldwin put on makeup or anything. he's a bit too big of a name for x-men.
JFogg - 7/28/2013, 9:44 PM
it was def for Captain America 2!!!
JFogg - 7/28/2013, 9:48 PM
@crashrendar completely agree
HeadPool420 - 7/28/2013, 9:50 PM
