With Marvel Comics dishing out box office hits more than ever lately, Hollywood heavyweights are being sought out for roles in the ever-expanding franchise adaptations. Exemplifying that with a missed opportunity, Alec Baldwin was a guest on the Howard Stern Show last week when he was asked why no one has offered him a villain role in a superhero movie. "I have, but I won't mention which one," Baldwin revealed. "I don't want to undo somebody because they hired someone else to do it. But they asked me to play a villain in one of these Marvel Comics movies," he reiterated. As to why he turned down the role, the 55-year-old actor said, "I wasn't available, they wanted me to work a certain time. And because of my wife's pregnancy, I had to turn down two films this summer that I wanted to do." Even after Howard Stern pressed him for details, Alec Balwin said he would only disclose the role off-camera. Oh well! However, considering that his wife is supposedly six months pregnant right now, that leaves The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Guardians of the Galaxy as possible Marvel movies that Alec Baldwin would have played a villain in. What do you think?

LEVITIKUZ - 7/28/2013, 8:41 PM
So we know he was suppose to be the villain in a Marvel movie.

Doesn't matter as who. Would be a forgettable role.

theInvincibleMexiMan - 7/28/2013, 8:45 PM
I'm thinking it was probably Redfords character in Winter Soldier. I bet you.
Macksimus - 7/28/2013, 8:46 PM
Either Norman Osborne or Redford's character in Winter Soldier.
Robert - 7/28/2013, 8:47 PM
Family comes first, so I understand his reason.
Jollem - 7/28/2013, 8:49 PM
yeah, alec baldwin sucks, unless he's in a marvel studios movie one day. then he'd have been great all along...

natalie portman sucked...until she was in thor again

just like how hugo sucks...unless he's the red skull again...

ed...if you're the hulk again, you'd be the best hulk ever and ruffalo is now the suck...
LEVITIKUZ - 7/28/2013, 8:49 PM

God I haven't seen that movie in a long time.
NovaCorpsFan - 7/28/2013, 8:49 PM
Either Trask or Alexander Pierce (who I think is Aleksander Lukin)
JGAR - 7/28/2013, 8:50 PM

DEATHbyEXILE - 7/28/2013, 8:51 PM
good news
LEVITIKUZ - 7/28/2013, 8:51 PM
Portman does suck.

The only time she ever acted in her life was when Darren was the director. The man is a miracle worker.

Please give this man the Batman reboot since Mangold did Wolverine.

I will say though, Portman's fine.
thebearjew - 7/28/2013, 8:55 PM

Reasonnnn - 7/28/2013, 8:56 PM

LEVITIKUZ have you read his batman script acouple years backit was horrible i know you love darren but trust me you will hate what he does to batman he is a director who will change canon and source material to fit his vision of the character.

quick example darren's batman script had alfred not as a butler but a mechanic who was also black
LEVITIKUZ - 7/28/2013, 8:58 PM
FIRG

I try to forget. Not a fan of it. Every great director has one bad film.
LucasMend - 7/28/2013, 8:59 PM
Captain America: The Winter Soldier of course. it's obvious, it was robert's role.
TheShroud - 7/28/2013, 9:00 PM
@Macksimus
Yeah, Redford's character in CA:TWS
maryboo - 7/28/2013, 9:00 PM

Jollem - 7/28/2013, 9:02 PM

Yes I read it. Do you know how it ends? Bruce reveals to the world he's back. Bruce and Big Al move into Wayne Manor.

I don't care if Alfred's black by the way.

Some stuff I liked but he had Miller pen it so the blame goes with him.

I also heard at the time, film executives wanted to completely redo Batman in a different way after Batman & Robin so some of the changes are likely due to the executives.

I give the script a 7/10.

Also got a shout out by Darren on Twitter once for finding out some concept art for the film.
BANE5000 - 7/28/2013, 9:03 PM
@fistofkhonshu

Agree also, Im sure it was Redford's role in The Winter Soldier
MercSoul - 7/28/2013, 9:04 PM

stupid balwin
WeaponX93 - 7/28/2013, 9:05 PM
@P862010
I agree, that script was God-aweful. That was not even Batman. I'm nervous as to what his Wolverine would've been.
LEVITIKUZ - 7/28/2013, 9:06 PM
Family comes first assholes. Don't hate him because he wasn't in your superhero movie.

You can hate him because he's a dick and an ass but not for choosing family over CBMs.
LEVITIKUZ - 7/28/2013, 9:07 PM
Frank Miller wrote the screenplay to Darren's Batman film. You guys do know this right?
Dripple300 - 7/28/2013, 9:07 PM
Good thing he wasn't hired.
WeaponX93 - 7/28/2013, 9:08 PM
Back on topic, he was probably going to play Redford's character.
LEVITIKUZ - 7/28/2013, 9:09 PM
Oh look. Nap60 finally posted a comment. Usually he just reports anyone who says even the slightest thing against Marvel.
halvor311 - 7/28/2013, 9:10 PM
He'd make a good Thanos or Darkseid.
backup - 7/28/2013, 9:14 PM
Whatever tgemovie, it'll be better without him. No good name dropping bastard
Dandy - 7/28/2013, 9:16 PM
Possibly Trask......the character is a bit of sleezebag and those are the characters Baldwin usually gets typecasted as.
norseman79 - 7/28/2013, 9:16 PM
Alec Baldwin is already the leader of F.A.G.

Team America...

meh
