After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier.

Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

TWS sounds like it'll be and interesting story. That's good to hear.

That was pretty funny about him not knowing the title to the Avengers sequel.

Keep Cap noble and good Marvel. And whatever you do DO NOT turn him into an amoral douche like Webb's 'take' on Peter Parker.

Potentially going to be the best solo film in Phase 2, I'm really psyched to see it. Lol at Chris finding out the villain he'll be facing literally with the rest of the world.

The most interesting thing is what will be after the credits of "Cap-2". A simple trailer of "A2" (but filming not even begin... no material)? A bridge to "GotG"? The return of Red Skull? Making of Ultron?

Or again piece of sh!t that means nothing and totaly epic fail uninteresting like an after credits stupid (worse ever) scene in "Iron Man 3"? Something like Cap talk with drunk Fury in the Dunkin' Donuts restaurant... =.=

Really, the main intrigue of the movie is "what is after the credits?" =) no?

I'm so happy to see Chris Evans genuinely excited about this. It could be that I've just had bad luck with the interviews I've watched previously, but he's always come across a little disillusioned in the ones I've seen.

I know it probably shouldn't matter, but it honestly makes me more excited about all of these things when the people involved seem to be having fun.

I cant lie...wasn't too fond of him in the role in the begginning and even though Avengers. he kept saying things and having a certain attitude that made him seem like he thought the whole MCU thing would translate to be pretty silly on screen, but i think after avengers and after filming this movie he has a new confidence in the studio that has really excited him to pay the role. I hope he has the passion to play this character for a lot more years.

There is such a big difference in his attitude from when he first was cast as Cap. At first he seemed out of place and uncomfortable but now he looks like he is really starting to have fun with these movies. Great to know!

The Portman situation seems unfortunate for everyone involved.

She's probably signed on for two or three of these, and she's stuck being a pretty much useless love interest/gateway for a general audience to understanding what's going on. It must be the most thankless type of role conceived - one played happily by cartoon ladies in a comic, but dreaded by actors that want some proper material. That said, I think she gave a solid performance that elevated the first movie. There was some nuance there, and it didn't exactly play like a typical romance, which was refreshing.

The Dark World seems to shoehorn her in, and from the trailer it seems they're using her as a whiteboard for people to project exposition onto again. Natalie Portman is obviously a big name to slap on posters, but it seems to me like the movie may bend awkwardly to include her, which is unfair to the movie AND to Sif's chances of stepping into the spotlight.

I dunno -- maybe they develop Jane Foster beautifully in this one and I get to wash my words down with a tall cup of space viking mead.

IDK which movie I’m looking forward to more in 2014 CA:TWS or GOTG. One things for sure its not a DC movie.
Chris Evans is a cool dude and I hope him the best in his career. He said he wanted to transition to the directors chair in the future so I’m glad he’s taking this roles seriously and not phoning it in.
Has anyone heard anything about Marvel/Disney restructuring Evan and Helmsworths contracts after the RDJ Avengers fiasco?

Well it sounds awesome. Will it live up to expectations? Will this movie have false advertising where 'The Winter Soldier' is actually an actor and not James Bucky Barnes.

Chris Evans does a really good job at playing 'Captain America'.

I am he is the premier robot/ armor creator in marvel comics. I never understood why they made Pym make Ultron in the first place. Outside of his Antman helmet I don’t remember Pym being that much of an engineer more of a biochemist.
