Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios.

Worst part of Thor. Worst of anything she did before Thor. Likely the worst part of Thor: The Dark World. Even more likely to be the worst part of anything she does henceforth.

Did any of you actually hear Natalie Portman say didn't want to be in this movie? Or are you just a bunch of yentas who talk crap from the rumors you hear? Sad. If you don't like character of Jane that's one thing. But to hate the actor is another.

And look at some of you guys talking crap at the way she looks. I'm willing to bet none of you losers had anyone half as cute as her or anyone for that matter.

I get her position to a degree. If there was a character she'd want to have played in the MCU, it wouldn't be some girlfriend. But that's her fault for getting there.

It's the same with Gwyneth Paltrow too. The actors/directors have a great respect for each other, and it's why Pepper has such an expanded role WAY beyond Tony's secretary.

Jane Foster just doesn't have that degree of likeability. She's not a smart-ass, she's not going to kill you with her death glare, and she's not owning the punchline to some actually funny jokes. Portman knows this - and her character isn't going to develop beyond being Thor's Midgard girlfriend.

She is hot, I really don't care about much else. She didn't ruin Thor for me, and I highly doubt she'll ruin The Dark World, which looks to be a superior film in every way anyway.

So......

Were these giggles coming from on set or back in someone's trailer?

I'll say again: if Portman reveals she's pregnant, odds are Mjolnir is INDEED mighty.lol

"she didnt even want to be apart of this film did she? she was on contract and thats why she is standing there right now"

Here's the thing. Third party sources alleged she got majorly pissed over the firing of Patty Jenkins. These are the same kinds of third party sources who alleged a hundred and one things that weren't actually true in regard to Ed Norton's issues with The Incredible Hulk and the same kind of third party sources that outlets used as the basis for their reporting the cast of Avengers was borderline on strike against Marvel Studios for bigger paychecks and everything was in danger of being on hold until they got what they wanted.

"Worst part of Thor. Worst of anything she did before Thor. Likely the worst part of Thor: The Dark World. Even more likely to be the worst part of anything she does henceforth."

Considering she literally showed up with no break at all from the set of The Black Swan, she gets a pass from me on Thor. A)she was exhausted and her instincts were probably not so very sharp. B)Kenneth Branagh is definitely what you call an "actor's director". He could have guided her another way but he backed her calls on her delivery each time (and he knew how wiped she was).

I think things will go a bit better this time around.

You guys believe every piece of internet skuttlebutt that comes down the pike. She was disappointed her friend did not get to direct the film. That is all. She is a professional under contract for a film. Love the echo chamber effect of once some lie hits the net everyone parrots it over and over. The whole Hulk controversy of Louis Leterrier and Edward Norton comes to mind. Supposed fighting and bickering turned out to be a small disagreement about the length of the most boring scene in the movie. But for years on the net it was World War 3.

For the record, I have no problems with her looks. She's a very good looking lady who happens to be a very poor actress. I'm surprised a thesp like Mr. Branagh ever hired her. Then again, I suppose part of why Thor is supposed to love Jane Foster is how ordinary she is.

We'll see if the film will give her character more to do in Thor The Dark World.

Thor the film was actually inspired by Hercules in New York.

If Iron Man and Iron Man 3, the Dark Knight Rises and The Wolverine are any indication, Jane Foster will be the one that saves the nine worlds.

Wasn't Hugo signed on for multiple films as Red Skull yet he left? In Natalie's defense, who wants to keep playing Jane Foster?
