Now that principal photography on the Guardians of the Galaxy film has proceeded the halfway mark, Twitter has revealed subtle but intriguing updates surrounding the Marvel production. With a series of tweets from director James Gunn, cast members Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan and Sean Gunn, new minor additions to the motley crew are revealed to be Slither's Gregg Henry, Super's Stephen Blackehart and English actor Ralph Ineson. The latter, who's best known for his role in the Harry Potter series, was spotted on set last month alongside Michael Rooker. Check it out:

“Guardians of the Galaxy,” the next epic adventure from Marvel Studios, is directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn, and the film will introduce audiences to a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Academy Award® winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is slated for August 1, 2014!

I really do like the idea of using GOTG for a feature film.

It's an outer space, sci fi,action film & that can appeal to many people in the general audience.
It's related to the Marvel Universe & can/will tie into that cinematic world.

Very clever & potentially great decision to make this movie..if its good & it seems to be.
