Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. It opens in theaters November 8, 2013.

Why not throw the Avengers weight around. If I were in marketing I have Avengers in every sentence. Coming in November, 17 months from Avengers 2, Thor, who is an Avenger, stars Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, who was not in Avengers....
TelaVizion - 9/30/2013, 6:25 AM
Avengers is a part of the story. It was that way for Iron Man and it will be the same way for Cap'n A.

It completes each quadrilogy
MsDarkPhoenix - 9/30/2013, 6:35 AM
I just realized that Thor: TDW will be released at November 21 at my country!!! WHY??? Marvel movies were usually released a week earlier than USA here!! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME MARVEL??
Whiteandgold - 9/30/2013, 6:42 AM
Breaking Bad > Thor
imnotwearinghockeypants - 9/30/2013, 6:44 AM

Amazing512 - 9/30/2013, 6:47 AM
@Whiteandgold
Thor > Whiteandgold
HongKongPooey - 9/30/2013, 6:48 AM
ha Breaking Bad was good though. Nice end to it
SageMode - 9/30/2013, 6:50 AM
^ its apart of marketing. From The Studio That Brought You MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS will draw people to this. Nothing wrong with that.
patrat18 - 9/30/2013, 6:51 AM
It's not a marvel movie without mentioning the Avengers.

Not watching another trailer. Self induced coma thing to get me quickly to Nov 7 didn't work out, but ... must ... be ... strong.
McNyagano - 9/30/2013, 7:24 AM
@Maestro

Calm down bro. xD
EarOne - 9/30/2013, 7:27 AM
after Iron Man 3 hitting the $q billion mark and seeing all the epic-ness of Thor trailers, the cast of both Cap 2 and GotG..i think Marvel's Phase 2 might actually be the FIRST franchise with EACH movie joining the $1 billion club.

sure..the last two's got miles to climb, but marvel's confidence is actually contagious..and i'm gettin' the marvel fever like, im sure, many moviegoers worldwide.
GUNSMITH - 9/30/2013, 7:51 AM
ALAN TAYLOR WAS "TAYLOR MADE" TO DO THIS FILM....

THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/30/2013, 7:56 AM
This is taking way too long to come out.
marvel72 - 9/30/2013, 7:58 AM
this looks so f*ckin good.
MercwithMouth - 9/30/2013, 8:02 AM
Anyone else think @Mantinium is retarded? This movie looks epic! Should be a damn good time!
McNyagano - 9/30/2013, 8:06 AM
@mantinium

"MOS TRAILERS WERE 100 TIMES BETTER"

@ mantinium

i'm betting that man of steel isn't 100 times better than thor the dark world.

it wasn't even better than the wolverine,so it won't be hard to be better than man of steel.
Negrotigre - 9/30/2013, 8:08 AM
I'm a huge Thor fan, but this movie looks generic at best. And Thor has many other enemies that would have been more interesting. Hopefully I'm wrong.
ruadh - 9/30/2013, 8:11 AM
So....anyone who uses the word "dark" in their title is copying Nolan? When he created that word, he really should have gotten a copyright on it.
IM53 - 9/30/2013, 8:11 AM
Few more weeks until it [frick]in hits. Looks awesome We are almost halfway through phase 2
TheAbomination - 9/30/2013, 8:13 AM
Finally. Some previews worth getting excited about.
ALmazing - 9/30/2013, 8:20 AM
@ mantinium, sure the trailers were great, unfortunately the movie didn't really live up to that did it. And by that I am not saying this movie will be any better... also CAPITAL letters on everything is a little douchebaggery btw.

Am I the only one annoyed by the fact that they put pieces of dialogue on scenes were they're clearly not saying that? The part where he says " The darkness will destroy us all" they used that footage for "I need you help." Is not the only part of the trailer they do this.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/30/2013, 8:24 AM
I like how the red cape flows from under the MARVEL logo. They should keep that for the film
StarkAnthony - 9/30/2013, 8:31 AM
You know, if I would have met Osama Bin Laden around 2002, I totally would have just slapped him and said "that was for New York" but then done nothing else. We forget because Loki is likable, but this guy carried out a 9/11 level or higher attack on a civilian target. I think the level of destruction in The Avengers hasn't been properly dealt with in the MCU. Skye says that SHIELD cleaned up New York before anyone had a chance to see what happened, but there were space whales smashing straight through buildings and crap exploding everywhere. I personally think they handled the destruction better than Man of Steel, but hopefully Thor 2 brings this stuff up in regard to Loki. And just how much of Jotunheim did he destroy with the bifrost in the first movie?
preacherfan666 - 9/30/2013, 8:32 AM
Idk. I mean, I loved the first Thor movie and Avengers. but it really seems like Marvel has no faith in an audience remembering who Thor is so they have to put "the return of an Avenger!" and "the avengers was just the beginning" a little sad actually...
preacherfan666 - 9/30/2013, 8:33 AM
@StarkAnthony. But genocide and homocide in Marvel movies are fine as long as the actor is HOT! remember!
soforizo - 9/30/2013, 8:38 AM
Franklin it does looks generic, but maybe it's not the type of movie that plays well to do commercials with. It is sorta worrisome, but maybe considering Alan Taylor's involvement, maybe it just isn't cut out for trailers or 30 second ads.

Just look at Game of Thrones' trailer, I would've skipped that series because the trailer sucked had it not been for getting good reviews from multiple sources. Not saying it that this will turn out as good, but it shouldn't be rejected outright.
preacherfan666 - 9/30/2013, 8:38 AM
yes, by leaving the main villain alive so that he can betray people again and cause more death!
breakUbatman - 9/30/2013, 8:39 AM
Lol

"Witness the return of an Avenger"

Yes. Show us how it's done Thor, because someone else failed in that department.

I really don't like the "That was for New York" scene, should have said that was for Selvig or New Mexico in my opinion.

P.S.

What's a PRINCESSE?

Darkman, Dark City....

Guess Spielberg should get on their asses for copying Lost World as well.

JoeMomma29 - 9/30/2013, 8:40 AM
@ preacherfan

It has nothing to do with faith but dollar signs. Avengers was a juggernaut at the box office and they want to continue riding that success by mentioning it over and over again.
JoeMomma29 - 9/30/2013, 8:41 AM
@ OmegaDaGod

LOL please show me some Marvel/Disney movies that even deal with homicide and genocide.
JoeMomma29 - 9/30/2013, 8:47 AM
I know Batz cannot wait for this movie.
