A New J.A.R.V.I.S. Rumored To Be In THE AVENGERS 2; Don Cheadle Said To Have A "Key Role"

In an effort to confirm from their own sources that USA Today wasn't making an assumption and that Don Cheadle will indeed reprise his Iron Man 3 role in The Avengers sequel, Bleeding Cool has possibly revealed an additional Age of Ultron cast member and an intriguing major plot point.

Suggesting first that there's been a lot of info circulating that involves The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Bleeding Cool's sources report that English actor Simon McBurney is "in line to take a role." However, they're unable to confirm the current stage of his casting, or the character he'll play. But what they've been told, presumably by another source, is that McBurney will be playing J.A.R.V.I.S. "Not a computer voice Jarvis, mind you, but an actual Butler called Jarvis," the site added.

UPDATE: Back on the inclusion of Don Cheadle, HitFix can also confirm that "Col. Rhodes, aka War Machine, has a key role in the conflict with Ultron that is the main focus of the sequel."

J.A.R.V.I.S. is Just A Rather Very Intelligent System created for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and voiced by English actor Paul Bettany. But the character was introduced in the Marvel comics as Edwin Jarvis, Iron Man's actual butler. He notably served as a longtime caretaker of the Avengers Mansion and the Stark Tower, which the closing scenes of The Avengers movie implied will become the Avengers Tower. So it's possible that Joss Whedon plans to utilize that in the sequel. And to an extent, It also fuels the strong beliefs that the A.I. Jarvis will become Ultron. What do you think?

So far starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Samuel L. Jackson and James Spader, The Avengers: Age of Ultron is directed by Joss Whedon from his screenplay, and is slated to begin production in March 2014 and the sequel is scheduled to release on May 1, 2015.

so you have no reason to believe so, but you think he will....
GinjaNinja - 12/12/2013, 1:48 PM
I wouldn't mind it though. Just think it would be bad because the tie in comic already said Jarvis was dead.
Supes17 - 12/12/2013, 1:50 PM
wait what happened to Jarvis
npamusic - 12/12/2013, 1:51 PM
I doubt it.
npamusic - 12/12/2013, 1:52 PM
Is this for the film or for a comic book

@Dougie how is Jarvis Dead if he's an A.I.?

themidnightking - 12/12/2013, 1:52 PM
What the [frick]?
npamusic - 12/12/2013, 1:53 PM
You also have no source to make these claims? I think this should be in the editorial section..
EdgyOutsider - 12/12/2013, 1:54 PM
As long as they don't go with the stupid idea of J.A.R.V.I.S being corrupted and becoming Ultron. Sure, why not?
DrDoom - 12/12/2013, 1:56 PM
lol as if
npamusic - 12/12/2013, 1:57 PM
okay. now that the article is fully finished, I still doubt Bettany is being replaced.
LMB10 - 12/12/2013, 1:58 PM
Make Ultron turn JARVIS in to the Vision and have Stark hire a 'real' Jarvis to be his Butler.
npamusic - 12/12/2013, 1:58 PM
also, how did jarvis "die" and in what "tie-in" comic did he die.
SageMode - 12/12/2013, 1:59 PM
I thought it was told that the real Jarvis died in the IRON MAN 2 tie-in. Hmmm........
EdgyOutsider - 12/12/2013, 2:00 PM
Has anyone considered maybe (an explanation in the movie would be needed though), Tony got rid of the A.I Jarvis? Just some food for thought.
DEVLIN712 - 12/12/2013, 2:06 PM
How this should play out:
>Computer Jarvis gets fed up of being Stark's little bitch
>Jarvis goes crazy
>Tony hires a real life version of Jarvis
>Jarvis kills Jarvis (Yeah)
>Jarvis is Ultron

Probably a good job I'm not writing this film...
EdgyOutsider - 12/12/2013, 2:12 PM
@DEVLIN: No... no way in hell should that happen. Jarvis should not become Ultron. Always hated the idea.
Tyrus - 12/12/2013, 2:13 PM
That's not possible...

In the MCU comic tie-ins, Jarvis was Howard Stark's butler (basically 616 Jarvis) and Tony named the A.I. after him...
Pasto - 12/12/2013, 2:13 PM
Someone explain to me where babies come from?
Pasto - 12/12/2013, 2:14 PM
I like the sound of an old man doing my bidding while I'm off kickin ass an takin names.

Pasto...approves.
GinjaNinja - 12/12/2013, 2:16 PM
In a tie in comic Tony stated that J.A.R.V.I.S. is based on an Butler he had when he was younger who is deceased. It was in Iron MAn 2 Public Identity.
Tyrus - 12/12/2013, 2:17 PM
Lol I guess they're going to make human-Jarvis another Alfred and have a bunch of "this is your destiny/path" speeches :P
GinjaNinja - 12/12/2013, 2:19 PM
However I don't recall if they stated that Jarvis was dead or not in the tie in comic. Maybe he's coming back to work after long years lol.
MrCBM56 - 12/12/2013, 2:19 PM
Ok?
Nomis - 12/12/2013, 2:19 PM

V8ER - 12/12/2013, 2:23 PM
@Pasto Well..um...ask your father. Anywho this sounds great. Hopefully a butler for Avengers Tower and the AI for everything else. That'd be cool
GinjaNinja - 12/12/2013, 2:30 PM
npamusic - 12/12/2013, 2:30 PM
still doubt it.
GinjaNinja - 12/12/2013, 2:31 PM
DynamicDynamo - 12/12/2013, 2:31 PM
The computer Jarvis will become The Vision.
Trevor - 12/12/2013, 2:31 PM
Am I the only one that thinks he'll be used in a flashback to show the original Jarvis? This Jarvis being the one he names the AI after.
GinjaNinja - 12/12/2013, 2:34 PM
Ugh TELLL MEEE!!!!
GinjaNinja - 12/12/2013, 2:37 PM
Maybe Ultron attacks all of their minds showing painful pasts. Shows Banner turning into the hulk, show the death of Jarvis, show Thor losing Loki, Black Widow's back story essentially, and show hawkeye attacking the helicarrier, and show cap crashing while talking to peggy. Just little snippets of them. But that would be interesting
SuperCat - 12/12/2013, 2:37 PM
sanyaya - 12/12/2013, 2:41 PM
Wow so now he has a real person butler like batman so lame why take away the AI butler so GGGGGAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY
RexDartEskimoSpy - 12/12/2013, 2:47 PM

Nerds on the internet are talking about me? ME?! Why?
DEVLIN712 - 12/12/2013, 2:48 PM
Sanyaya
You know the AI wasn't in the Iron man comics. Jarvis is an actual real life person.
I didn't read the Ultimate comics but IIRC the Jarvis AI was only brought in then
DEVLIN712 - 12/12/2013, 2:55 PM
GoldenOne
I heard that one too. As much as I wish it was true I won't trust the validity until I see it
smgmayhem - 12/12/2013, 2:56 PM
Has anyone at all considered that he may be playing Jarvis in a flashback scene when Stark was young, thus adding more to the emotional connection he has with the person and the A.I. Whom becomes "Ultron"
GinjaNinja - 12/12/2013, 2:59 PM
Lets be honest Iron Man wouldn't be able to operate his suit with out an AI in real life.
