X-Men: Days of Future Past doesn't hit theaters for another five months, and already Bryan Singer is teasing further X-Men: Apocalypse development on Twitter, where the director announced the 2016 sequel earlier this month. "Late night #XMen #Apocalypse story session. #SimonKinberg @DanimalHarris @Mike_Dougherty It's snowing in Egypt!" the tweet read. Included is a photo of Singer and Days of Future Past scribe Simon Kinberg, who 20th Century Fox tapped recently to pen a rewrite of The Fantastic Four reboot, and help create their own shared Marvel Cinematic universe.

Also featured in the Twitter post are screenwriters Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty, who wrote the screenplay for Bryan Singer's first X-Men sequel (2003) and his Superman Returns film (2006). Anyhow, with X-Men: Apocalypse set to hit theaters on May 26, 2016, the film is expected to be set up in the closing moments of X-Men: Days of Future Past on May 23, 2014. What do you think?

Great news! X2 had a well-written and interesting story.
sanyaya - 12/18/2013, 11:13 PM
that's cool I guess
Deft - 12/18/2013, 11:14 PM
X2 is no doubt the best of the franchise. It was basically my Avengers dosage every week before Avengers existed.

But damn Singer's tweets are pissing me off now. You don't see Zack Snyder or Joss Whedon posting shit about everything.
Deft - 12/18/2013, 11:16 PM
I'm expecting someone to write over that image "so what should we ruin next?" :P
ALegendaryPanda - 12/18/2013, 11:24 PM
X2 was amazing! First Class is my personal favorite but I'm glad to hear these guys are coming back.
sanyaya - 12/18/2013, 11:25 PM
@Tyrus LMFAO I bet they are thinking that
miklonus - 12/18/2013, 11:33 PM
Agree with Tyrus' first comment, but...."the writers of Superman Returns" is the kind of information you DON'T want on there.
MisterMagurlypse - 12/18/2013, 11:46 PM
X2, IMO, was the best X-Men flim to date. So this gives me some hope. Frick yea, Apocalypse!!!
JDUKE25 - 12/18/2013, 11:49 PM
X2 is still my favorite.
MightyZeus - 12/18/2013, 11:59 PM
Cool i guess but First Class was better that X2. I love both films though.
HurricaneXavier - 12/19/2013, 12:04 AM
Singer seems like a huge douche.

Why don't you worry about getting us a real and not half assed DOFP trailer before you start writing your next movie.
PsychoManiacJacky - 12/19/2013, 12:10 AM
Forgot to write in tweet, "Actually just brainstorming incredible ideas on how to ruin Apocalypse, drew concept art of him in Robin Hood tights complete with bow and arrow! Guy from Twilight a good choice?"
MecoBoy - 12/19/2013, 12:13 AM
Ya esta empesando a infocarse en la siguente pelicula y todavia no sale Days of Futures past

pobre pendejo que no sabe aser las cosas paso por paso
TheRationalNerd - 12/19/2013, 12:16 AM
I don't see ANYTHING wrong with Singer keeping fans updated with how he's handling his X-Men Universe?! If the man wants to tweet what he's doing to keep "fans" of the franchise updated what harm is there in that? lol Like seriously? I think more directors should do the same honestly. It seems like we only hear from them on the special screening of their film and a few interviews here and there so where's the conflict in this?

I'm really looking forward towards seeing just how X-Men: Apocalypse plays out and I'm even more excited towards seeing some special X-Men return to this franchise. I'm assuming it'll be set in the 80's this go around so that's something both visually and environmentally stunning to look forward to.

Jean Grey

Should all be in this film with an inclusion of a few others as well! Can't wait! Do your thing Singer!
Rokyn - 12/19/2013, 12:29 AM
Snowing in Egypt? Huh?
loki668 - 12/19/2013, 12:33 AM

It's either that, or it's one of Gusto's "clients" "auditioning" for the Magic Mike film.

TheRationalNerd - 12/19/2013, 12:36 AM

I honestly think it's hinting at Storm whipping up some cool weather in Egypt against Apocalypse during the day. Or perhaps whatever Apocalypse's plans are is causing strange weather patterns and etc? Who knows *shrugs*
VisionaryNPA - 12/19/2013, 12:37 AM
soo Wolverine film 2.0?
UrbanKnight - 12/19/2013, 12:39 AM
Them again huh? Well, just go all out and I will be a happy camper!
UrbanKnight - 12/19/2013, 12:40 AM
X2 was pretty damn good. Felt like it was building up to an epic conclusion. But we all know who that went...
UrbanKnight - 12/19/2013, 12:42 AM
Also, bring back Cyclops. Stop playin!
ItsATrap - 12/19/2013, 12:43 AM
Egypt, huh? as in place where Apocalypse comes from?
I'm hoping they go that route instead of the previously rumored alien background
Deft - 12/19/2013, 12:45 AM

I still believe that James Marsden is in DOFP. That leak about him hopping on a plane with Halle Berry was all the proof I needed... They've tried to hide these things before.
UrbanKnight - 12/19/2013, 12:49 AM
@Tyrus What!? There was a leaked pic? From the set?
WingDingaLing - 12/19/2013, 12:52 AM
Bring Cyclops back! and Cable.
Deft - 12/19/2013, 1:10 AM

No-- Marsden was caught catching a plane from the DOFP set, or at least in the area where they were filming...
UrbanKnight - 12/19/2013, 1:25 AM
@Tyrus Oh.. IDK man. Better not be some friendly visit type thing. That would be cruel.
ELgUaSoN - 12/19/2013, 1:26 AM

Bring It
UrbanKnight - 12/19/2013, 1:31 AM
@GayGusto Do you know what Meco is in Spanish!?? Do you speak en espanol hermano?

Or are you just naturalmente gravitated to perversiones en instinct?
ELgUaSoN - 12/19/2013, 1:41 AM

konoyaro - 12/19/2013, 1:50 AM
no exactly big news they are Singer personal team of choice and most important,
they usually write what SINGER WANTS INTO THE STORY.
that's why we got SUPERMAN RETURNS.
BlackCat1 - 12/19/2013, 1:54 AM
I'm angry that Michael Clarke Duncan had to go. This was his my eyes.

And that's most def a Storm hint. Maybe Shadow King will play a role in this film
deamon - 12/19/2013, 2:00 AM
Dougherty and Harris are back.
SimpleeComplex - 12/19/2013, 2:36 AM
They "forgot" to put a stack of comic books on that coffee table.
SimpleeComplex - 12/19/2013, 2:42 AM
Takeout food. Check!
Coffee. Check!
Singer and his lackeys. Check!
Bottle of lube. Check!
Tissues. Check!
Sweet coffee table. Check!

Anything else needed to make a gr8 CBM? Nope, Let the think tank begin!

This is good news for the movie!Hope it all works out.
Deft - 12/19/2013, 3:25 AM
The present-timeline X-Men seem so weak in numbers... I wish Nightcrawler and Cyclops were back, for one - secondly, they need to explore someone like Bobby's abilities. They already changed his personality (which I personally don't mind), but they've also made him weak. Same with Colossus, he's just background muscle.

This whole situation is why I'm mad that X-Men: Apocalypse will be focusing on the younger cast - there is literally no X-Men to focus on besides McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and Hoult.
hue66 - 12/19/2013, 3:26 AM
If they bring back Cyclops I'll start going back to the theatre to watch xmen movies. Haven't done that since x2. Well that is if he actually leads the team and not just supporting cast for wolverine
