Russo Brothers Returning To Helm CAPTAIN AMERICA 3

Russo Brothers Returning To Helm CAPTAIN AMERICA 3

Captain America: The Winter Soldier doesn't hit for another two months, but Marvel's so pleased with what Anthony & Joe Russo delivered that the sibling directors are in talks for the third movie

According to Variety, Marvel is so impressed with Captain America: The Winter Soldier that the studio wants directors Anthony and Joe Russo to helm the third installment which hasn't been greenlit yet. Strong results from recent Winter Soldier test screenings also play a role in the sibling directors returning. Even though negotiations will not begin until after the "political thriller" hits theaters in a couple months, April 4th, Marvel and the Russos "are already putting together an outline of what the third film’s story arc would look like," notes Variety. Chris Evans is expected to return as the Super Soldier, after he appears in The Avengers: Age of Ultron next year, and other Winter Soldier cast members, including Frank Grillo and Emily VanCamp, have implied that their characters are being set up for future films. Which makes Marvel fast-tracking a Captain America 3 not all that surprising. Anyhow, there's no word on a release date or writer(s) for the film, but it could be the untitled Marvel production that's currently set for May 6, 2016, the very day that Batman Vs. Superman will open. Nonetheless, it's worth noting that, besides Jon Favreau and Joss Whedon, Marvel has typically tapped different directors for their sequels. What do you think?

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

Cool! If they return, then this should shut people up about "Marvel not asking directors to come back for sequels".

Thor 3 needs to cut out Darcy or just limit her to a few scenes (maybe 2) I want Thor 3 to focus on Thor and the Asgardians, no more Jane Foster no more scientists and junk

but yes I did like Thor TDW I just want the third one different

It has to be big for his final movie... Iron Man ended big for his final solo. Thor and Cap has to do the same. A way that the big 3 are allowing a new generation to take over major duty in saving the world.
