We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release on May 2, 2014!

Spider-Cave.

The Costume looks perfect, but i think we can stop talking about that now.
It's the horrendous villains i'm worried about.
Jollem - 2/8/2014, 2:29 AM
sick!! that suit looks too good

Starkasm - 2/8/2014, 2:31 AM
Don't hate me guys but I actually like Electros look. Better than his yellow and green spandex and that god awful mask.
Starkasm - 2/8/2014, 2:32 AM
Also this suit is easily the best one yet.
Jollem - 2/8/2014, 2:34 AM
the rhino has a big, bulky, beasty rhino suit, electro looks like electro, and harry looks good. i like the exoskeleton. could have a mask, but i'll wait to see the final product
Pending - 2/8/2014, 2:40 AM

With some effort they could've made it work. I'd take this over the dull design they gave Electro any day.
IronAmerica13 - 2/8/2014, 2:41 AM
The only thing I'm not digging about this movie is rhinos look, other than that I'm very excited for this film
MrBatmor - 2/8/2014, 2:42 AM
Suit looks dope!! I like electro's look...not all things can be brought to life as they are in the comics.. Iam just not liking the memory card looking thing near his ears
MrBatmor - 2/8/2014, 2:44 AM
Electricity doesn't "shape" in real world...it would have looked weird...i think.
113 - 2/8/2014, 2:54 AM
That 5th picture is awesome - classic Spidey pose.
Jollem - 2/8/2014, 2:57 AM
rhino smash!!

hulkrash - 2/8/2014, 2:58 AM
I like seeing Peter tinkering with shit.
Apart from Rhino everything about this movie looks amazing.
Humperdink - 2/8/2014, 3:13 AM
@Pending

I think the original Electro costume works better on paper than in real life.
It looks VERY campy and 'Halloween'.

I think they made the right choice or at least one I can live with.

TelaVizion - 2/8/2014, 3:16 AM
When will they finally change Spideys costume and keep it as the new one. He has one of the worst costumes in Super Hero history. His alternates be great, and then they go back to this crap.
GetsugaTensho22 - 2/8/2014, 3:17 AM
Electro's costume and look aren't the problem. It's the character himself!
A pseudo-tragic "Boo Hoo, i'm a hapless nerd and then when i get powers i decide to [frick] with Spidey because he forgot my name, instead of everybody else who really screwed me over. I'm also really really good at being a villain even though i spent my whole life as a sad, pesky nerd".
I'm not even going to talk about Harry "David Bowie" Osborn.
xfan320 - 2/8/2014, 3:21 AM
I don't get how people can really bitch about the Rhino's look. We have only seen a couple of shots of it. To me, one was awkward, and the other was rather awesome. Plus, There have been far too many interpretations of the character to be so judgemental...especially given that Giamatti has said this is just his first appearance.. I honestly believe he will probably contemplate or possibly even inject himself with the cross species serum to try and get even with spider man after TASM2..

Yeah?! Sounds friggin awesome to me!
Jollem - 2/8/2014, 3:27 AM
spider-man has one of, if not THE best costume in all of comics
Jollem - 2/8/2014, 3:30 AM
@GetsugaTensho22 - just wait 'til you see the movie. i can promise you there won't be any "mandarin" silliness with electro. (boo hoo, i got stood up on my date with tony he never really agreed to)
Pending - 2/8/2014, 3:38 AM
@Jollem

You're right, Electro's story looks 100x more cliche than Killian's.
Humperdink - 2/8/2014, 3:38 AM
@xfan320
Rhino is fine by me.
I think a mech-suit is reasonable and looks good.

@GetsugaTensho22
Electro's origin in this film isn't all that original. We've seen it done many times in comics and films. I think I can overlook it if the character himself is interesting. I do want to point out something regarding one thing you said.

Boo Hoo, i'm a hapless nerd and then when i get powers i decide to [frick] with Spidey because he forgot my name, instead of everybody else who really screwed me over. I'm also really really good at being a villain even though i spent my whole life as a sad, pesky nerd".

That confrontation scene was edited.

Obviously we missed a great deal of dialogue, and the attack on Spidey wasn't just due to him forgetting his name, it was due to a lie he felt he was told. The whole thing about Electro/Max is that he is a rejected nobody who was verbally and mentally abused by his mother and taken advantage of in the workplace. He built a fantasy around Spider-man and himself being heroes in order to remove his sense of isolation and fantasize about approval he never gets. When Spidey, the sole subject of his hero worship and the rock that mentally kept him from going postal rejects/fears him, it's the psychological last straw.

Max is angry. He's always been angry at how he was treated. He's not some 'pesky HAPPY nerd', he's an ANGRY nerdy guy who feels he is unfairly rejected but powerless to do anything about it. He is antisocial, angry, and paranoid. Those are the perfect ingredients for a villain and when he gets the powers he eventually goes that route. It's like the quiet ignored awkwardly social co-worker that one day comes in and shoots up the place.

Also...how do you know he didn't get the other people who screwed him over?
We didn't see enough to form that conclusion. We don't know what he did after the accident other than attack Spider-man.

@getsuga

How can you judge a characters motivations off a trailer? It's a vague summary of a 90+ minute Movie.
People keep saying he turns evil because spidey forgot his name, but I'm sure it will be more complicated than that. Although then again that's just an assumption because I haven't seen the movie and neither have you.
hulkrash - 2/8/2014, 3:42 AM
Just for the record I have no problem with rhino being a mech suit I just don't find the design that appealing.
Jollem - 2/8/2014, 3:43 AM
@Pending - really? care to explain yourself? because i don't think you're able to
theowl - 2/8/2014, 4:03 AM
The really like those blue parts on the suit!! Glad they kept that from the first movie.

I really believe that this movie will be the best spider-man movie so far.

( if they can keep this in balance )
Pending - 2/8/2014, 4:04 AM
Jollem

Their origin stories are very similar, Killian's just happens to take the smarter route and manages to not be as cliche. All Electro want's to do is to get back at Spidey (aka the guy he wanted to work with just like Tony) and the people who hurt his feelings which is so freakin basic.

While Killian on the other hand doesn't really care about revenge or his relationship to Tony.
lexcorp - 2/8/2014, 4:07 AM
Tight just freaking tight!!!!!!!!!

@Humperdink - i like your thoughts on electro

@Pending - how about you wait until you see the movie?
6of13 - 2/8/2014, 4:29 AM
Electro is also paranoid and irrational. So, in addition to him feeling angry at how everybody treats him, the paranoia is going to make him behave irrationally and worse like we see in the trailer.
Pending - 2/8/2014, 4:58 AM
@Joll

"just wait 'til you see the movie. i can promise you there won't be any "mandarin" silliness with electro. (boo hoo, i got stood up on my date with tony he never really agreed to)"

So YOU can make assumptions on what the character is gonna be yet you tell others to wait till the movie comes out?

Just practice what you preach man.
dethpillow - 2/8/2014, 5:23 AM
@Humperdink - yeah, right on, i've been meaning to mention that sometime too, that the scene doesn't immediately go from Electro realizing that he didn't know his name straight to .... i'm gonna kill you.

there's obviously an edit in that trailer and probably there's gonna be at least some more conversation between the two at that moment. i mean it's basically the same dynamic, but it would really come off ridiculous if it played out exactly as it does in the trailer.

people aren't much for recognizing that one thing is different from another thing tho. oddly enough. so i doubt that's gonna make any difference to what anyone says, even after the movie comes out. i don't know.

But there's obviously more to it than this weird thing that's being presented. i actually don't have much confidence in Foxx's subtlety as far as this role goes... and i just don't have the feeling that he gets it really, from interviews i've seen. which really, who cares? but i'm just saying there's signs to me that Jamie Foxx is not gonna be good for the role, but i don't think he's gonna be awful, and there's way more important things about this movie than his whole trip with "nerds".
Rogers - 2/8/2014, 5:24 AM
dethpillow - 2/8/2014, 5:28 AM
Nicholas Cage might make a great Mysterio.
tryin to think of who he should most play in a Spider-Man movie.

i think... Mysterio, Fancy Dan or Scorpion.

he would kill any of three roles.
dethpillow - 2/8/2014, 5:31 AM
you'd think he'd make a good Kraven, but no...
on second thought you'd realize he wouldn't, i bet.
JustThwipIt - 2/8/2014, 5:36 AM
Now that I see the web-shooters closely they seem much more complex than its predecessor. I'm not just talking about the housing, you can also Pete is tinkering with it in the 1st pic, which may seem to indicate more functions (different types of webbings for ex.)
I'm surprised there's no article yet about some leaked web-shooters info or whatever.
I'm in love with that costume!
Danbojohnj - 2/8/2014, 5:39 AM
Like the first film,don't mind the mech Rhino,Spidey looks perfect.

It the fact that they seem to a fekked up Goblin;s look again.
Shaq - 2/8/2014, 5:50 AM
Don't have a lot of faith on hipster Parker bu DAMN that suit is a thing of beauty!
marvel72 - 2/8/2014, 5:59 AM
the last three or so are pretty cool.
mgeoff88 - 2/8/2014, 6:00 AM
It looks like Peter is holding a fuse in his right hand.

I love the new suit! It looks like Spider-Man came right out of a comic book!
