First GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Trailer Gets Classified

It seems we're inclined this month and maybe this week to get the first official trailer for Marvel Studios' first non-sequel since Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy! Hit the jump and check out its run-time!

Considering both Marvel/Disney and director James Gunn felt a thirty-second preview during this month's Super Bowl wouldn't do justice to the very first visuals from Guardians of the Galaxy, it was assumed that the first trailer would at least arrive next month, closer to the international release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. However, today the Alberta Film Ratings has revealed the teaser trailer is coming sooner than we thought. Coming in at 2 minutes and 23 seconds, the teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy should debut next week, if not sooner. Therefore, expect some promotional efforts very soon, maybe during the Sochi Winter Olympics. What do you think?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

Lmao@ womb
Gyasiman - 2/10/2014, 1:12 PM
It just sucks to me that Marvel is treating this movie so horribly. This movie comes out in only SIX freaken months and we still do not have ONE trailer or even a 30 second teaser. Hell the first Avengers teaser came out over a YEAR before the movie even opened. This movie already has a lot going against it as NONE of the characters are publicly well known, it's a non-sequel, and coming out post avengers.

The LEAST Marvel could do is promote the mess out of this film, so if it flops, it wouldn't be because a lack of promotion. We don't even have a poster yet. Smh. I REALLY want this movie to do well, but something tells me Marvel dosn't want the same.
JoJo1982 - 2/10/2014, 1:14 PM
@marvelfan

That's what I'm thinking it will pop with is the new Robocop movie

Seeing as it's the only big pg-13 superhero movie in Feb. it makes a lot of sense to have GotG on there
AgentEX - 2/10/2014, 1:15 PM
Yes Gyasiman, Marvel wants their film to flop. Relax. They've built a brand and don't need to promote as much as they used to. Plus, they have AOS nowadays to promote it to 6M + viewers.
GizmoEl - 2/10/2014, 1:17 PM
Marvels great at promotions. Considering the fact that this is a CGI heavy movie, first impressions will last. Remember the first Green Lantern trailer? The effects were terrible and left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. It also didn't help that the movie sucked, but I'd rather them get the trailer right before people are put off by it. I think a 5 month marketing push is perfect for this type of movie. It's possible we'll get a second trailer with cap2, and a third with TASM2 or DoFP.

ALmight - 2/10/2014, 1:18 PM
excited baby
Omarvls - 2/10/2014, 1:19 PM
Marvel's Star Wars or Green Lantern?

btw DC ONLY Fanboys should root for this movie to be a major hit because that is the only way we get a Green Lantern Reboot
