It's no secret that Marvel Studios is very proud of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, especially considering the company entered negotiations with directors Anthony and Joe Russo to direct a third installment earlier this year. During a press junket for the upcoming sequel today, the siblings confirmed to Collider that it's a done deal and comments on the threequel's current stage.
“Well now that Kevin [Feige] said it that means we can talk about it, I guess,” said Joe Russo. “That’s great. We’re just in the formative stages of it right now. We just started breaking story with [screenwriters Christopher] Markus and [Stephen] McFeely and we’re just getting an idea of what we wanna do with it. It’s crazy working on it before the movie even comes out because you want to see what people respond to in the film. You want to get some inspiration from what people like about the film so you go, ‘Okay, this is what we gotta lean into in the next movie’ or ‘this is what we should move away from, this didn’t work so well.’ So we’re just in that phase of breaking story but waiting to see how people respond to the movie.”

Chris Evans must be ecstatic! The Captain America star recently told Glamour UK magazine that he would “never trade in the decision” to have done these Marvel movies, but he doesn't know if his “heart’s as in it as it once was.” He then reiterated that he'll take a little break from acting once his Marvel contract lets up. He's obligated to do Captain America 3, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and The Avengers 3. However, starring in the latter sequel could be in question due to the fact that Chris Evans made a brief appearance during Thor: The Dark World last year. What do you think?

Damn, TWS must've been really great! So phase 3 line up will look like this?:
Ant-Man
Dr.Strange
CA3
Thor3
(Maybe) GOTG
and hopefully BP & TIH sequel.
Curmudgeon - 3/11/2014, 2:42 PM
I'm going to assume this means CA3 is the May 2016 film, since it's the first of the post-Ant-Man films to snag directors.
DEVLIN712 - 3/11/2014, 2:43 PM

I want the Russo brothers to take over from Joss Whedon, please, for the love of god make it happen.

Although I've lost a tiny bit of faith in Disney since I found out they were involved in a bidding war for a movie about Santa Claus as a Viking.....lol
McNyagano - 3/11/2014, 2:48 PM
This movie was just beautiful. :')

Just 2 more days;)
MrCBM56 - 3/11/2014, 2:50 PM
I'm happy for them. But I have to admit, after the first couple clips I saw, I don't like some if the camera angles. Really akward.
themidnightking - 3/11/2014, 2:53 PM

MsDarkPhoenix - 3/11/2014, 2:56 PM
So, Ant-Man, Thor 3 and Cap 3 are confirmed for Phase 3. They are going to make at least one more movie and it's probably going to be Doctor Strange. If they make two movies, the other one will be Black Panther, TIH2 or Inhumans.
JoJo1982 - 3/11/2014, 2:56 PM
Great news!!!!
blackandyellow - 3/11/2014, 2:57 PM
Phoenix, or a GOTG sequel.
SageMode - 3/11/2014, 2:58 PM
Everything about this film has been great. Clips, reactions from early screenings, and now they're back for the trilogy. Yes indeed. Yes in'[frick]in'deed.
JoJo1982 - 3/11/2014, 3:00 PM

Omarvls - 3/11/2014, 3:11 PM
Marvel STILL has not said if it will have to move from the May 6 2016 date the one DC/WB has said that it will release BvS I think Marvel has to be very careful cause if they release a solo movie (Cap/Dr.Strange/Thor) it will get demolished by BvS

They might have to move which would make them look weak or they might pull a fast one on DC/WB and release a Iron Man v. Captain America 'Civil War' type movie
