Meeting expectations, actual box office numbers are here for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and it is still very much safe to say Marvel/Disney has another one for the books. Debuting with a total of $96,200,000 for its domestic weekend, Marvel Studios’ “best outing yet” has so far collected $207,100,000 internationally, which altogether accumulates to $303,300,000 worldwide. According to Exhibitor Relations, this makes the Joe and Anthony Russo-helmed political thriller sequel the biggest April opening of all-time! Not bad, not bad at all. What do you think?

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

I think it will make a billion. I'm getting a Skyfall type of vibe from this. A lot of people are going to see this
BruceLeroy - 4/6/2014, 8:42 AM
This film deserves all the dough it's going to rake in. Great [frick]ing film. Marvel Studios got another one.
rockerdude22 - 4/6/2014, 8:43 AM
Wow! Congrats to this movie! It deserves every penny it makes! Seriously, I saw it at the 8:30 showing Thursday night, and I really want to go watch it again haha
rockerdude22 - 4/6/2014, 8:44 AM
Gotta say, this year's starting out very strong for CBMs! Here's hoping TASM2, DOFP, and GOTG deliver as well!
MrCBM56 - 4/6/2014, 8:46 AM
Damn! Deserves more. Fantastic film. One of my favorite CBM's ever.
ALegendaryPanda - 4/6/2014, 8:47 AM
Hell yeah! Go cap!
batz11 - 4/6/2014, 8:48 AM
The numbers that come out Sunday a.m. (in US)...do they just estimate Sunday's total from Fri/Sat numbers? Always wondered why they're not released Mon am?
TheAbomination - 4/6/2014, 8:55 AM
Deserves to make $1 billion. It's a shame that it probably won't.
TheAbomination - 4/6/2014, 8:55 AM
TASM 2 will eventually kill this film's momentum.
MexicanSuperman - 4/6/2014, 8:57 AM
Amazing for the film. AMERICA [frick] YEA!
AlexanderLykins - 4/6/2014, 8:58 AM
I'll go see Spidey on $5 Tuesday. Or maybe not at all. Putlocker!
charlie2094 - 4/6/2014, 8:58 AM
Awesome stuff! Glad it's doing so well completely deserves it!

So First Avenger made $193 overseas, Winter Soldier has already made $207! Pretty good going!
charlie2094 - 4/6/2014, 9:00 AM
Think a billion is stretching it...besides, even $650-700 is incredible. A Billion shouldn't be just thrown around so easily, that's a ridiculously huge number.

Would be great to see it though, don't see it happening.
Bekss - 4/6/2014, 9:01 AM
Even in the UK made more money than the last weekend. In other countries they forget about the "America" and now they know it's an amazing movie.
AlexanderLykins - 4/6/2014, 9:02 AM
Same with Wolverine and the X-Tras. Captain America: The Winter Soldier deserves a billion.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 4/6/2014, 9:03 AM
@Charlie2094
Idk man, a lot of movies have been making a billion lately.
MrMartinMarvel - 4/6/2014, 9:03 AM
I hope this movie makes all the money in the world; such a fantastic film! Go and make Murica proud Cap!

DEVLIN712 - 4/6/2014, 9:05 AM
Looks like Marvel can now afford to not focus on Iron Man, what an opening!
charlie2094 - 4/6/2014, 9:06 AM
@TheDarkKnight

That's definitely true, and is entirely possible. Just seeing this being a little closer to Thor 2 than Iron Man 3, but who knows, definitely outpacing Thor 2 so far. It has pretty much opened in all of its markets so far (only like 5 left), so who knows, will need very strong legs. Doesn't have much competition until TASM2 so has plenty of space and very good word out mouth...

Possible, but not too likely
TheAbomination - 4/6/2014, 9:06 AM
Regardless of whether or not this film makes $1 billion, it will certainly push this franchise past James Bond!! The MCU is about to become the second highest grossing film series of all time!!

Harry Potter, you're next!! Bring on GOTG!!

Breaking News: Batman vs. Superman changes release date after weekend results for The Winter Soldier Sequel!

@Corey

Lol :P If Half Life 3 ISN'T confirmed this year, I give up. Was hoping they were merely waiting for the next-gen to launch...fingers crossed :P
batz11 - 4/6/2014, 9:07 AM
Yeah, was kinda strange no Coulson mention even...
0megaDaGod - 4/6/2014, 9:14 AM
It almost doubled it's budget in 10 days

DAMN
DoubleD - 4/6/2014, 9:20 AM
FU%K YEA
HiTcH - 4/6/2014, 9:22 AM
Ramiel - 4/6/2014, 9:24 AM
"good luck topping that, Spidey."

TASM2 will open higher than that.
WAYNE - 4/6/2014, 9:25 AM
Great film, I don't think it's better than the Avengers or TDK but definitely in the same league as Iron Man 1 and definitely my second favorite Marvel movie next to the Avengers.
DrDoom - 4/6/2014, 9:26 AM
Go Cap Go!

We gotta get the MCU up to the highest grossing film franchise of all time! After AOU, it definitely will be, but could we possibly reach that before 2015 with help from Cap and Rocket?
zippiesdrainage - 4/6/2014, 9:27 AM
Can someone tell me how it ends? Some guy in the audience shouted "Batman is better" and I missed the end of Cap 2 because I was busy beating his ass in the parking lot.
DrunkenNukem - 4/6/2014, 9:28 AM
Impressive indeed
Havensent - 4/6/2014, 9:29 AM
HELL YEAH! Well deserved! ^_^
DrunkenNukem - 4/6/2014, 9:29 AM
lol @grif
InfiniteMonkey - 4/6/2014, 9:30 AM
It really is that good.

Lingers after you leave the theatre.
Gary8264 - 4/6/2014, 9:32 AM
It more than deserves as much as it can get. everyone involved with this film obviously put in a lotta hours tryin' to make the best movie they could. I don't know if it can make a billion (I hope it does), but both The Avengers and Iron Man 3 made their billion the first month, so it's got time to reach that goal before Spidey is released.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 4/6/2014, 9:33 AM
Where is @GrabThemCakes with his measly boxoffice prediction because he has a friend who is the best in the world at predictions for films. Lol. Cap 2 will is succeeding overseas too. Yeah $600 mill and more is in sight. ;)
Ranger14 - 4/6/2014, 9:33 AM
Everyone I know is raving about this film. Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow!
0megaDaGod - 4/6/2014, 9:33 AM
