"Oh, [he] can do all sorts of things," said Paul Bettany on Jimmy Kimmel Live! of the Vision's powers in Avengers: Age of Ultron. "But I'm not allowed to really talk about them and what we're going to do because there might be a Marvel agent in the room who will actually wrestle me to the ground and fire me." After commenting that Marvel "pick and choose" powers and abilities from the comics, Bettany went on to discuss going from to just lending his voice to J.A.R.V.I.S. to now physically playing a character. "It's very exciting for me, but everything's a double-edged sword because I was playing JARVIS for years," he said. "My job was I would turn up at a recording studio for 45 minutes, do all my stuff, they would give me a huge bag of cash, and then I would go home. Now, it turns out they've found me out and they want me to actually, ya know, do something. It's not right," joked the actor. What do you think?

The Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader. The film is set for release on May 1, 2015.

Finally, confirmation :)
TheAbaryMan369 - 4/13/2014, 4:06 PM
As much as I love J.A.R.V.I.S. in the Iron Man movies, they should have went with an Alfred-style inspirational character for Tony Stark and used Edwin Jarvis.
TheRationalNerd - 4/13/2014, 4:07 PM
So will it be a physical appearance with make up and etc or will everything be motion capture? He's going to have to shave his head too. lol
JordanKing - 4/13/2014, 4:07 PM
Here's a wacky theory. What if they took the name literally, and "Vision" actually allowed others to get glimpse into their pasts. Might explain why he would be in a WWII setting along with Cap at all.
TheRationalNerd - 4/13/2014, 4:08 PM
Other question is will his voice be digitized when he's Vision or will he still walk around sounding like Jarvis? lol
marvel72 - 4/13/2014, 4:08 PM
the vision is coming,i can't wait to see him.
TheAbaryMan369 - 4/13/2014, 4:08 PM
Perhaps that is what Vision will be like in the MCU.
DCMarvelFreshman - 4/13/2014, 4:09 PM
@JordanKing First thing that came to my mind when I was putting that article together. Don't know how faithful or unfaithful that would be to the comics though.
Kurne - 4/13/2014, 4:09 PM
JARVIS becoming Vision is fine... But that'd mean he'd no longer serve Tony.
ALegendaryPanda - 4/13/2014, 4:09 PM
@TheBlackNerd

It will probably be a mix of CG and make-up
TheRationalNerd - 4/13/2014, 4:09 PM
@JordanKing

Whaaaa?? Was that from the set pics or something??
ezio619 - 4/13/2014, 4:10 PM
theabaryman-i love having jarvis as a virtual butler,it works for this tony who is very much an inventor, a tinkerer and i frnakly now cant see it any other way
CherryBomb - 4/13/2014, 4:10 PM
I'm really happy he's playing Vision.
Visually he has the right look and his voice is so damn sexy.

McNyagano - 4/13/2014, 4:11 PM
nailbiter111 - 4/13/2014, 4:12 PM
He's hit or miss, but this role he should nail.
TheRationalNerd - 4/13/2014, 4:13 PM
@ALegendaryPanda and @MrBlackJack

Ohhh ok, yeah that would make total sense. It doesn't really take all of that Motion Cap for Hulk for Vision when he's walking around. I think they said he'll appear in his original white form too? Should be great seeing him walk through walls and etc. They nailed the character in A:EMH.
nailbiter111 - 4/13/2014, 4:13 PM
This is his best performance, so far.
CharlesLord - 4/13/2014, 4:13 PM
paul is awesome lol
Mercwitham0uth - 4/13/2014, 4:13 PM
Can't wait to see Vision in the movie.
JordanKing - 4/13/2014, 4:14 PM
@DCMarvelFreshman I don't think Marvel are that fussed on sticking to the comics as they once might have been. Which I'm fine with as long as the change makes sense and fits with the universe they're building.
JordanKing - 4/13/2014, 4:15 PM
And it keeps us the fans guessing along with the GA.
FerFogs - 4/13/2014, 4:16 PM
Awesome. Since it's Paul Bettany I can't help thinking he'll be an evolution of the Jarvis AI, perhaps blended to the original human torch (synthetic man) tech. Maybe Pym improved it back in the 60's / 70's.
RamonSuarez - 4/13/2014, 4:16 PM
Vision!
ezio619 - 4/13/2014, 4:17 PM
going by marvels recent trend of the hulk ,thanos, rocket, groot and Ultron being motion capture,i thiink Vision is gonna be most likely motion capture

Jordanking-yeah , they have changed things before, none more of a big example then the whole mandarin fiasco last year,i personally loved it due to the idea behind it ,this is its own universe, just as the Nolan films were their own universe
ezio619 - 4/13/2014, 4:18 PM
guys also the guardians clip that is suppose to be shown at the mtv movie awards tonite is gona be the same as the one released earlier this eek..dissapointing but atleast we got the bts look during AOS tuesday to look forward
mattattack - 4/13/2014, 4:19 PM
I'm betting mo-cap.
AlexLaChiusa - 4/13/2014, 4:20 PM
@JordanKing @DCMarvelFreshman

If the 1940's scenes being shot are some sort of "vision", I dare say it will be Scarlet Witch who will be responsible. It keeps in line with her abilities from the comics.
MrMartinMarvel - 4/13/2014, 4:21 PM
I just can't wait to see how Vision will look in the movie! I hope they keep the red, yellow, and green color scheme, and most importantly his awesome cape.
TheAbomination - 4/13/2014, 4:22 PM
Hope his uniform is similar to the comics.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 4/13/2014, 4:22 PM
I thought it was already confirmed that Paul Bettany did make up test and will have the redish face and metallic armor without cape as he will have an unfolding device ejected out his back that will help him fly and act as a sort of cape. It was in an article about early costume fitting and make up with jeremy renner.
Lockjaw - 4/13/2014, 4:22 PM
So glad that JARVIS was an AI instead of an actual butler. That would have been utter shite.
SuperDude001 - 4/13/2014, 4:27 PM
TheRealRemyLebeau @ I think he definitely had a costume fitting, or experimented with it. See I heard they tried out a 'chalk white' make-up on him and experimented with a helmet, but nothing was confirmed as what was to be used so could be anything. Either way I think it'll be awesome (I hope), I've wanted for a humanoid Jarvis since Iron Man 2.
27ShowStopper - 4/13/2014, 4:29 PM
They made Jarvis a computer becuz it would have been too much like Alfred.
DaVinci31 - 4/13/2014, 4:30 PM
Is Marvel implying (by the casting) that the J.A.R.V.I.S. system will become The Vision?

Or that J.A.R.V.I.S. will become Ultron (James Spader's voice), thus not allowing any confusion when The Vision shows up and sounds exactly like the J.A.R.V.I.S. system that once was?

Or is it a ruse and the J.A.R.V.I.S. system actually becomes two AI's; one that travels to a safety/back up drive/android that Howard Stark was working on, becoming The Vision in the process. While the other travels to an upgraded Iron Man suit, from which it utilizes to evolve with (I'm assuming) HYDRA's technology, becoming Ultron.

I'm so confused.

Jobu - 4/13/2014, 4:32 PM
Can't wait to see his portrayal, he is an excellent actor
AlexanderLykins - 4/13/2014, 4:33 PM

Now to the meat of things. Our source has seen the Vision costume. The wardrobe department is in full motion. Having seen both concept art and a costume hanging around, they know what the costume looks like. The costumes are tagged and are numerically coded, but from what they’ve seen and heard, mixed with the news that stuntmen have already arrived, this is what they can say about its look:

It has a helmet akin to the Iron Man armor, but it’s designed more like a face than a smooth Stark helmet. The iconic yellow and green are present in the design, but it’s moremetallic shades than bright ‘comic book colors.’ They said it reminds them somewhat of the T-1000 from Terminator 2 but it’s not as shiny.Theyellow metal “liquid” bits seem to light up.This may or may not happen since there aretwo designs for that section. One lights up theother doesn’t.That’s theonly difference. The cape is present, but they say it appears to only “pop out”when in flight mode. The cape sports some similarshades of yellow as the body. The “neck pieces” arethe sameyellow but they seemto shift positions from“standing”(for lack of a better word) to “flight mode.”

Now the only thing that isn’t pretty well decided on is the mask. As of this Monday they weren’t sure if they wanted to rework the helmet/face part of the costume or incorporate Bettany‘s own face. The Marvel execs and Whedon were there earlier this week looking at a few possibilities. They want to make certain that audiences don’t think of Vision as just a colorful copy of Iron Man. That part isn’t finalized, but this is what Vision will look like barring a few very minor tweaks before he steps in front of the cameras. What do you think about the description? Are you happy with what you’re hearing?
BlackNickFury - 4/13/2014, 4:33 PM
Hell yeah Vision.
SuperDude001 - 4/13/2014, 4:33 PM
DaVinci31 @ Have Marvel actually confirmed Tony Stark to be the creator of Ultron yet? Because if not, it could always be: Stark makes JARVIS into Vision. Someone steals Stark technology (uses Loki scepter power or something), accidently makes Ultron. If not, I think it'll at least be Stark starts modifying JARVIS and a virus corrupts him creating Ultron and as retaliation the remains of JARVIS create Vision, like spliting him into two.
SuperCat - 4/13/2014, 4:34 PM
Perfect casting!
