CONFIRMED: Zack Snyder To Direct JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie After BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

With recent castings for the Batman vs. Superman movie, we all guessed this was the case, but the head at Warner Bros. confirms the Man of Steel sequel will lead into a Justice League film and more.

Though its been longtime speculated and hinted at, Greg Silverman, the president of production at Warner Bros. has confirmed today via The Wall Street Journal's Speakeasy that a Justice League movie is definitely in the pipeline and it will follow Zack Snyder's still untitled Man of Steel sequel. “It will be a further expansion of this universe,” he said. “’Superman vs Batman’ will lead into ‘Justice League.’” That's not all. Silverman says that the script for Justice League is still in development and there is no release date set (likely after 2018), but  Zack Snyder will return to direct the superero ensemble film with Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot among others expected to reprise their Batman vs. Superman roles. Greg Silverman kept mum on exactly which heroes will join the trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, but the recent casting of Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and rumors of the Flash, Nightwing, and Aquaman appearing could be a clue. As for Gadot flying solo as Princess Diana in a Wonder Woman movie, Warner Bros. sadly have no plans for that, but are open to the possibilty. “That is our hope,” said the president of marketing Sue Kroll. “With the right script, that could be viable. The world is ready for her.” Anyhow, other DC Comics properties that are heading to the big-screen, though not connected to the developing Justice League universe, include Shazam, Metal Men, 100 Bullets, and Fables. What do you think?

UPDATE: This should be classified as a rumor, given the source has done so himself, but prior to today's announcement, Latino Review was informed that Justice League is aiming for May 5, 2017.

Tentively titled Batman vs. Superman, the movie is directed by Zack Snyder from a story by David Goyer and screenplay by Chris Terrio, and stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane, Tao Okamoto, Callan Mulvey, with Holly Hunter, Laurence Fishburne, and Jeremy Irons. And as of right now, the film is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.

I like this. Zack Snyder isn't a bad director. He's a good director. Give him a good script and he will deliver.
GliderMan - 4/27/2014, 5:42 PM
[frick] this. Snyder's directing isn't BAD.. it just doesn't feel real superhero-ish. Get somebody else.

I say have every solo films take place before the Justice League movie. Or it could go the other way. There doesn't have to be a trilogy for every hero to be honest, you can have a sequel but only if the story is legit enough you know? Just don't rush it! That's all I ask.

Wow. So there you have it, it was always a matter of when, but nice to hear it is happening. I like the way of doing it, doing a JL then spinoff from that, as I think it will be great to see the characters the audience want to see more of first.

However I just can't wait to see GL vs Superman, as no Superhero team-up film is not complete without a couple of showdowns between the team.

Personally, I wouldn't mind DC doing something different and instead of a Solo movies we get Team-Up style films, GL and Flash.

"A script is still in development"
Wait, who's writing the script? I'd imagine Goyer's doing the treatment, but if WB wouldnt bow down to him and had Terrio come in to polish his script, I doubt he'll have final say in what the film will look like.

Hope The Fleck co-writes the film. Imagine that Oscar caliber writing...

This just shows DC has no faith in their other characters else they would all get solo movies. It'll be JL 1, JL 2 etc... and then reboot when it goes stale. Don't expect any Flash, GL, WW solo movies.
SonGoku - 4/27/2014, 5:49 PM
It's finally happening.
