I knew they would put a black person. Even if some of the casting is bad, I feel this movie will be good. I mean the X-Men First Class writers? Who is better to introduce a new teen of young people?!! I hope this is atill an origin piece, it would be stupid if it continued on the show.

Awesome.
I've always loved the diversity of Power Rangers.

He was great in Me&Earl, fantastic movie!
And I'm glad that despite his huge praise and popularity in that role, he's not being typecast, I'm excited to see him in a completely different role than Earl.

This cast is shaping up to be wonderful,
fresh up and coming talent is always exciting

I found Me and Earl and the Dying Girls to be rather annoying, but the main actors were not the problem so hopefully the kid gets a better part in this movie.

Oh good...now we have enough ethnicity to keep people happy. This guy is a great actor. I don't know that Power Rangers will enhance his career, but it probably won't hurt it.

So they make the black ranger a cool, slick asain dude and the blue ranger a black neek super geek?

So pissed off right now, damn progressives ruin everything, I liked the black man as the black ranger. I found it empowering rather than discriminating, I don't care if the studios intentions were ignorant or whatever back in the 90's my interpretation was that Zack was the strong black man with the badass black suit.

I hope they take it seriously but not too seriously where it becomes campy. I don't know if that's possible, but I'm excited to see how this all plays out. You know you're getting old when you remember when the first one came out.

The Pink ranger is Indian, the Red ranger is white, the Black ranger is Asian, and the Blue ranger is black. I have a feeling that the Yellow ranger will either be an Arabic muslim or a illegal Mexican.

Because in the REAL WORLD in 2015 there is not a single "cool, slick Asian dudes" or "black neek[nerd?] super geeks"!!!

Have you been in a decades long coma?? Are you new to society?? You don't get out much and interact with folks of other races, cultures, etc., do you??

This thread came alot faster than i thought it would, saw this news like 20 minutes ago. But id like to ask my question again that i posted on the black ranger article.

"Do the colors of the uniforms have any significant reason behind them? If they dont then couldn't they all just wear the same colors like the xmen and just have different visors to differentiate? But if they do, i dont understand where the controversy would came from. Why would a black guy with black culture and black roots choose to be any any other color than black if given the option. Same with a Red/brown skinned Native would chose red. I always thought it was about these different cultures coming to together and the colors planned apart into translating them."

Just give us the original characters as they were with the first cast. I didn't judge it then, I don't judge it now, and they were much better than the second cast that was in the film. I even had the first MMPR SNES video game with the orginal cast. Don't screw with my childhood! >_<
