Fans are a little worried with how dark the next Superman movie could turn out to be. From what we've seen up to now, the film does seem to have a darker tone and a more realistic atmosphere compared to previous films. New Superman, Henry Cavill, reassures: "It's not a dark movie by any means. Past representations of the character have been quite light... This is a more realistic view of the character, while still maintaining the very unrealistic, or potentially unrealistic features of an alien with superpowers." Another issue that has worried fans is the level of action in the movie. Will we finally see a Superman show us why he's super? According to screenwriter David Goyer, yes: "There is more action in Man of Steel than any of the Dark Knight Films" Zack Snyder's Man of Steel finally hits theatres on June 14th, 2013.

Cool, this will mark the first film ever where Superman actually throws a [frick]ing punch. Took the assholes at WB long enough...
FrankieDedo - 1/29/2013, 11:52 AM
I'm still not interested in this, but i like that he said something to differentiate from the dark knight franchise, at least he's trying to get out of the nolan shadow

Bring it on. I just want Superman to be able to show how powerful he is without having any stupid powers like the memory loss kiss, time travel speed etc. Superman doesn't need those powers. He's powerful enough with the powers he has. And that's what I'd like to see, the powers he ACTUALLY has and is known for!
Jollem - 1/29/2013, 11:59 AM
he answered that quite nicely
xBlaze96x - 1/29/2013, 12:01 PM

"More action than the Dark Knight trilogy? Shouldn't be hard."
Sorry, had to beat the Nolan haters to it. :P
SUPERSHADOWBAT - 1/29/2013, 12:06 PM
Cannot wait for MOS! I'm glad to hear there will be a lot of action! If the script is good also that equals a great Superman film!

Good!!! I hope this shuts people up.

lmao @paulrom ;)
TheAbomination - 1/29/2013, 12:10 PM
That's reassuring. My biggest fear was that this movie would be a copy of the Dark Knight trilogy. Can't wait for the next trailer!
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 1/29/2013, 12:18 PM
More action that all the batman moves? Holy shit this movie is going to own.
skidz - 1/29/2013, 12:18 PM
Good: I have no problem bringing in a darker villain, but altering Superman in that way wouldn't feel right.
Nomis1800 - 1/29/2013, 12:25 PM

Hay Hay lets not get out of hand here.im happy it has more action but its not gonna be an popcorn flick its gonna have some elements from Nolan's Batman's,i bett there's gonna be alot of politics in this and explaining alot on the worlds beliefs on an alien just in smart dialog.Like how Nolan's movies have smart dialog and the way its written makes it believable and quick so lets not expect an all out action to it,its gotta have heart and a message like how its stated in the trailer"If the world found who i really was they'll cast me out of FEAR,my father believe that the world wasn't ready yet..WHAT DO YOU THINK?-awesome.
GoILL - 1/29/2013, 12:42 PM
Nice to know, really looking forward to this movie.
punkstealingluggage - 1/29/2013, 12:46 PM
As long as he SMILES... OFTEN...and SINCRELY...

Big Blue is a global symbol of hope, truth, and freedom in the comics...AND HE SMILES!!

Chris Reeve never let us down in this regard.
DrHorrible - 1/29/2013, 12:46 PM
All of the action in the movie will be from Clark "entertaining" the men of the fishing boat...
caveman - 1/29/2013, 12:52 PM
I need to stop reading about this movie, I'm getting impatient /:
Maximus101 - 1/29/2013, 12:54 PM

CaptainObvious - 1/29/2013, 1:00 PM
@blackandyellow- I love that scene. Makes me want to read All-Star Superman again. God, that book is brilliant.
DioFoRio - 1/29/2013, 1:00 PM
@Info...news flash bud..if it's about a dude with a cape who can fly and his name is Superman..It's a popcorn flick..Doesn't mean you can't like it or still be a "smart" cinephile. No need to be embarrassed to be excited for a flick to make you feel like a kid again..I know I'm stoked for it.
DioFoRio - 1/29/2013, 1:06 PM
this is the start of the DCCU
JayJayCAW - 1/29/2013, 1:10 PM
@blackandyellow: I really really do hope they have a scene like this, and with Snyder already having quite a few things from All-Star Superman in the movie.....there is actually hope for it :D
RSDhillon - 1/29/2013, 1:13 PM
Stop saying Superman has never thrown a punch on film until Man of Steel. In Superman II, he fought Zod and his goons.
ATrueHero1987 - 1/29/2013, 1:19 PM
@ChancellorCocnutDio Amen to that!
Decided to change the name huh?
AshleyWilliams - 1/29/2013, 1:22 PM
Henry Cavill IS Superman.

Nuff said.
GodzillaKart - 1/29/2013, 1:23 PM
@PaulRom: I hope there is also less sucking than there was in TDK films. :P
spidey1994 - 1/29/2013, 1:25 PM
YES!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
Tony93 - 1/29/2013, 1:32 PM
I was just nodding the whole way through from reading what Goyer said.. finally at last
I have an \S/ shirt hanging in my closet since last year waiting to be worn just for this movie..
thewonderer - 1/29/2013, 1:32 PM
Theres no point in great action if the script sucks balls.

The people beating on Nolans name because he's always mentioned need to stop.

Nolans name will help this film a ton, both financially and in quality.

Snyder is the director, but does anyone truly believe the film would be as good as it looks without Nolan?

I THINK SNYDER DESERVES HIS NAME ON THIS PROJECT as the prime one, but Nolan IS helping.

Get that in your heads people.
SwingsetKnight - 1/29/2013, 1:33 PM
From what I've seen so far, Cavill seems to know how to talk to the fans: a good skill. Goyer could take notes.
Jollem - 1/29/2013, 1:44 PM
^^lol
Super12 - 1/29/2013, 1:46 PM
This is the perfect approach they need to take for the entire DCU! This is gonna be the springboard into a new era!
