RUMOR: Fox Not Renewing The Rights to Fantastic Four!

This is the third tip we have recieved from this guy today, but this news is by far the most interesting! Hit the jump for all the details...

Via the Marvel Cinematic Universe Fan page on Facebook, the Admin has just recieved a tip that 20th Century Fox is giving up the rights to The Fantastic Four and the rights are reverting back to Marvel!

Here's the quote: "Insider news: This is my last piece of inside news for now, but it is a good one. Marvel Studios is going receive the film rights to another of there comic book properties owned by FOX. Fox is going to opt not to renew the rights to this property. ITS CLOBBERIN' TIME!"



So, what do you lot think of this news? Finally we can have the likes of Galactus facing off against the Avengers! And maybe the rights have already reverted back and Galactus will be the villain of The Avengers? Probably not but chances are that if this is true in The Avengers 2 we will be seeing the likes of The Fantastic Four, Galactus and Silver Sufer! And, we will finally get to see Hulk and The Thing face off! Anyway,lets calm down for a second. Treat this with a grain of salt but if true (and it probably is)then this should be interesting! @SuperDude Yeah I'm a little suspicious too. They claim that Enchantress will be in Thor 2, but we've heard the story before, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Still, the idea of Fantastic Four being in the MCU is just amazing.

Being that the FF's anniversary just came and went, this would be perfect timing for this to happen.

sorry guys, DCMarvelFreshman did some digging and the facebook page is full of shit! josh just broke the news to me on the chat :( and that means the other 3 scoops were BS aswell eg the enchantress in thor 2 and benedict cumberbatch in a marvel movie, they did it to get attention.

we still got hope. Nothing from the FF universe has come been done in some time, and I find it hard to believe that Fox is seriously considering a new FF movie with the bad reception of the last 2.

its gotta be close to reverting anyway.

It would make perfect sense. It would explain the miraculous recovery of Johnny Storm to reunite the FF just in time for Marvel to announce they regained the rights.

has anyone considered the possibility that Fox is just gonna stick it "in development" like Daredevil.
Fox have started down the looooooong road to redeeming themselves with X-men: First Class, but they are still on thin ice. i wouldn't trust the money grubbing execs anyomore than i would some president saying he'll fix the enonomy. lol

i mean, with news this big, i would want to confirm with other sources first because imho Facebook is not always a reliable source. kinda like Wikipedia or IMDB.

i'm nt trying to rain on anyone's parade, i'm just as excited to hear news like this. but i can't help but feel a little cautious when it concerns our dear friends at Fox who have our concerns a top priority. lol again.

when a movie is in development, it takes money to be in active development. Active development means they are using funds to work on the movie and keep it moving forward. They can't just say, "yeah, we're working on one" forever. So for a movie to be in development, it costs the studio money.

well even though the facebook page is a pile of bullshit, this is probably true. Intruder did some digging a few weeks ago and unless fox announce a new movie by the end of 2013, then the rights revert back.

This isn't true, Fox still made hundreds of millions off of the other Fantastic Four movies after covering the budgets. They said in the past, if they have to they will make a direct to dvd movie to keep the rights.

FAKE...do you honestly think FOX of all studios would stop to make a re-boot after the massive money they made off of them and X-Men especially the re-boot First Class. I bet they are already in the writing stage by now

Eh. I feel like FF really just guest star if they appear in Avengers 2. They have a lot of standalone stuff and so does Avengers. Though I wouldn't mind seeing the big brains: Hank Pym, Reed Richards, Bruce Banner, Tony Stark putting their heads together to invent the negative zone prison. The Fantastic Four property basically says the cosmic MCU is a LOT free-er than it was before. If Marvel were to get them back.
