STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE SITH Deleted Scene Description Reveals The Fate of Jar Jar Binks
Ever wondered what eventually happened to Jar Jar Binks in the Star Wars Prequels? Didn't think so. But the actor who played him, Ahmed Best, has revealed a description of what was going to happen to the character in Revenge of the Sith.
Ahmed Best - who played Jar Jar Binks in George Lucas' Star Wars prequels - recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly a deleted scene from the third and final film in the trilogy, Revenge Of The Sith, which revealed what would happen to his character.
In Revenge of the Sith, there was a scene that was cut where I’m walking down a long pathway with Ian McDiarmid before he is turned into the Emperor. And Palpatine kind of thanks Jar Jar for putting him in power. It’s a really interesting scene, and it shows the evolution of Jar Jar from this fun-loving kid’s character into this manipulated politician. And it was an interesting arc for the character that I thought could have been explored, because the scene is really dark. But it just didn’t fit in the movie, which I understand. But yeah, George’s take on it is Jar Jar is now just a politician.
Not very revealing, but interesting nonetheless. Personally I'm glad they kept it out (although I would've preferred if Jar Jar had never existed in the first place) because it does seem like an unnecessary scene.
There's more from the actor in the link below. Would you have preferred if this scene had been kept in? Share your thoughts in the usual place.
