The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field; the film swings into theatres July 3rd.

Ugh, I hate it. What have they done to my favorite villain?!
iJackSparrow - 6/7/2012, 4:46 PM
AMAZING. And Lizard looks the most bad ass villain of the summer. Seeing glimpses of him on 3D were insane, I can only imagine how much cooler he will be in the whole film.

In 2012, this is the Uncanny Valley at it's worst.

It's extremely different from the villains in other CBMs, he's actually turned into a monster, and I think they did a pretty great job !
Cant wait !

jumpingJellybeans - 6/7/2012, 5:01 PM
Looks almost as good as the CGI they used for the Hulk in the Avengers, and that's saying something.

I think an intelligent talking lizard is a better option than just a mindless beast it makes for a more sense and more of an interesting villain so excited for this July 3rd can't come quick enough
kevman87 - 6/7/2012, 5:09 PM
so much emotion from the lizard in just those short clips. Lizard looks freaking great.
spiderman2020 - 6/7/2012, 5:10 PM
holy shit. that was really awesome!
Curmudgeon - 6/7/2012, 5:12 PM
Big budget special effects as they were meant to be viewed... on low-res youtube videos.
jumpingJellybeans - 6/7/2012, 5:13 PM
@Chloe When he talks he emotes as much as a [frick]ing normal person does. Do your eyes dart back and forth when you're talking to someone or do you maintain eye-contact? If your eyes do, there's either an irritating bug hovering beside their head or you're socially awkward. His face does show emotions... Jesus christ, LOOK AT IT.

Spidey31 - 6/7/2012, 5:22 PM
Cool I thought we all knew he could talk? Rhys iguana did a preview of the voice in an interview

We LOST Tea??????? Gusto is born again? What the hell is going on around here?
jumpingJellybeans - 6/7/2012, 5:29 PM
@blackandyellow The formula didn't completely transform him, unless you're too damn oblivious to notice, he's a human-lizard.
@jme *Killer Croc makes a great Lizard* considering that he is a rip-off LOL
Asterisk - 6/7/2012, 5:29 PM
Yeah, what's going on?
VIKEME - 6/7/2012, 5:35 PM
LOVE IT!
Bodwulf - 6/7/2012, 5:39 PM
Finally figured out what has bothered me about Garfield as Spider-man, His voice sounds like Shia Labeouf! Now i can deal with it.
patriautism - 6/7/2012, 5:45 PM
YES PEOPLE the Lizard SPEAKS and even makes plans in the comics.. There was like one story arc where he was an animal, all other versions have him just as intelligent as Connors, only nothing like him.. Kind of like Jekyll and Hyde..
patriautism - 6/7/2012, 5:48 PM
I don't know where it got out that the Lizard is mindless in the comics,, oh well

spectre88 - 6/7/2012, 5:49 PM
Starting to get excited again.
soforizo - 6/7/2012, 5:57 PM
Mmmm.. it's slowing coming along, still a toss up whether I'll give it a go, but this movie is starting to grow on me.
jumpingJellybeans - 6/7/2012, 5:59 PM
@Consultant And he doesn't in this movie, you [frick]ing idiot. He attempts to regrow his arm, he does and becomes a giant-lizard ACCIDENTALLY. And in case you forgot, he did apparently have consciousness over his lizard form, and even if he hadn't, his lizard form is STILL a genius.
nosnegrom - 6/7/2012, 5:59 PM
I like the accent in the lizard voice
StaticMan - 6/7/2012, 6:00 PM
I'm sold
DragonofDarknessXIII - 6/7/2012, 6:04 PM
Whoa. I thought The Lizard would had a more beastly voice, but Rhys said it would sound like his own.
BatSlam - 6/7/2012, 6:12 PM
there was actually a story arc where connors was addicted to the lizard formula, and one that he thought he would be good to turn other people into lizards as well, where the formuala affected his human side and thought proccess. it was like the drug had to work its entire way out of his system for him to be normal. I am guessing that this is the direction that they are going.
iJackSparrow - 6/7/2012, 6:19 PM
Whoever thought that Lizard COULDN'T talk must be mistaking him with some mindless big guy henchman, like Croc or Bane after Knightfall. ;)

More proof for the noobs trying to play as big Spider-Man fans:

thewolfx - 6/7/2012, 6:20 PM
this is all well n good but

the father figure bit has been done already in the spiderman movies

yet these 12 yr olds will think this movie is the shit cuase its new and "edgy"

[frick] you -_-

and lizard looks odd as hell speaking with his baby teeth

iJackSparrow - 6/7/2012, 6:20 PM
He can even speak italian. :P
iJackSparrow - 6/7/2012, 6:24 PM
More proof, because I love to shut the naysayers trying to play as big Spider-Man fans up:

Crossbones - 6/7/2012, 6:36 PM
I'm starting to really love The Lizard's look. He's my favorite villain of all time and I'm super glad he speaks in this film, which I figured would happen anyways but still. My only gripe about him is that his voice sounds like a drowning or a more slimy version of the new Freddy Krueger. He should sound a bit more monstrous.
CPBuff22 - 6/7/2012, 6:41 PM
Most Anticipated Movie of July.*

*At least for me and I very much doubt any other movie will show me anything to change that.
