It appears the overall background image needs to be rotated slightly to the left. The buildings and flames are tilted to the right.

What are the flames supposed to be?

Otherwise really cool.

the flames are the mouthpart of Banes mask

Poor
whoelsebutkevin - 6/17/2012, 2:26 PM
Ahhhh thank you CsDot. Was wondering that, I knew that had some meaning. Not a big fan of the mask being used for a graphic for Bane. It's not clear enough, doesn't emphasize its meaning. Personally.

Not bad, not bad at all.

@blackandyellow: lol

@GreyChaos: I really would have liked to have seen Crane as the main villain in a Batman movie. I really like Murphy in the role. Hopefully we will get some more of him in TDKR

This is pretty amazing, at least to me.

@NinjaJesus you don't know exactly what backstory Bane will have. Also, I think Bane looks imposing and extremely driven. I prefer this look to any Bane I've seen in the comics/graphic novels. He has a very dictator-ish aura to him. Obviously it's preference and I respect your opinion, but why campaign against a movie. You don't like it, fair enough. Why do we have to keep repeatedly seeing your abhorrence towards this film? I'm not saying to not comment, but is there more you want to add other than the same redundant criticisms?

meh... haven't been a fan of the Nolan bats... you Nolanites make me HATE the film without even seeing it. If you ARE a Batman fan you should be angry with Nolan for screwing up your character... but you slurp the kool aid from the Nolan kawk and spit it at the true comic fans... just sayin'
Grimm - 6/17/2012, 8:22 PM
Have to agree with Ninjajesus here. Spot on. They like Nolan for the sake of Nolan for some reason... NO regard for source... Nolan or "fanboys". They would be the first to attack source material in any other CBM!
lntrn8 - 6/17/2012, 8:37 PM
take that batman
Bigred20 - 6/17/2012, 8:39 PM
That's the Chicago board of trade in the background
The one that was the Wayne enterprises building for BB and TDK
Haduken - 6/17/2012, 8:42 PM
@ Grimm.
Not that I am disagreeing with you but how did Nolan screw him up ?
SFCamerica - 6/17/2012, 8:55 PM
I have seen hardly any of TDKR, but it will be the greatest and Bane will be the greatest! Please Mr. Nolan, squirt all over my face!

Nolanites.....

With that said, I'm sure it will be a great movie, but topping the Avengers, highly doubtful.
TheBatman50k - 6/17/2012, 9:19 PM
Here's the way I see it I really only like Bane in one issue in Batman and that was when he was working with Ra's Al Ghul and Nolan is running with that idea and creating what seems to be Banes backstory using that. Also Bane kicked Venom (then put him back on it in the new 52 which was just stupid) So what Nolan seems to be doing is taking half the venom idea and just making it pain killers kind of like that idea since when he was high on venom he basically felt no pain anyways. My guess about this film is that it will be as good as Batman Begins and maybe just maybe on the same level of TDK. Listen i'm no nolanite I like his films a lot and have a lot of respect for the man.

But I am also going to say this, this whole idea about strictly using the source material is just stupid, is shows no imagination its like in Inception when Dicaprio's character was talking to Ellen Pages character about only using minor details, names, street signs and create something more imaginative and you dont want to get stuck knowing what is real and what isnt. Well I feel the same way about CBM's using character names, city names maybe some backstory for characters is good but if you have to change something about a character because it will fit your own personal interpretation of that character then I am okay with that. But a director doesnt want to get stuck knowing what the real source material is and what isnt, Batman especially has SOOO many different interpretations of different characters.

I am not following Nolan blindly I have some problems with his Batman films, more scene specific than character specific. So no people really arent fillowing Nolan blindly they just love his Batman films and love the interpretation that he is giving.
Grimm - 6/17/2012, 9:20 PM
@Haduken
The character himself, the bat, is linked to his cast of enemies inevitably... When he speaks like he has a throat infection and doesn't follow his core values from the comics, it's bad enough. When you totally misrepresent his villians he further looses any credibility he may have kept. Regardless of how unrealistic 'The Bat" is, Bane is NOT the character from the comic. Bane is a MAJOR life changing character from the comic book and was a integral part to the Bat story IMO. When he sin't Bane, Bat isn't Bat! Like I said ...it's just my opinion.
TheBatman50k - 6/17/2012, 9:31 PM
@Grimm

But he wasnt really that major of a character he broke Batman's back but after that he really didnt do anything, he was useless in No Man's Land, he really was useless when he helped Ra's Al Ghul, the new 52 makes him look like totally stupid. To me Nolan just took his core characteristics I.E being super intelligent and super strong (without Venom) and basically just created his own interpretation. Dont forget people keep saying that this is ALL Nolan's fault for "ruining" Batman (which I really really have to disagree with) but David Goyer is involved to and infact has created some of these ideas as well, I give them both credit for being more imaginative.
Grimm - 6/17/2012, 9:35 PM
@50k
I'm not a stickler for source either, believe me, I like all CBMs with the exception of the Ghost Riders. The problem here is this... I've enjoyed the Nolan bat films, more so before I encountered this site. I am just as entitled to my opinion as any one else is. I'm not trying to make any one else change their opinion, but I don't like it when others push their BS on me by accepting and promoting the Nolan bat over all the others! You said it yourself... Batman has been a vampire... in the old west... and about a thousand interpretations throughout the history of comice. I enjoy the campy aspect of Batman and Robin... the same goes for the Adam West Bat. I liked the Keaton version too... but the same people that accept the Nolan changes completely bash the others! And THAT is what turns me from these films MORE than the lack of source! Bane should be a big imposing figure no matter how you skew him. He should also sound the part... again, all in MY opinion only. You want MY take on the film, then you have it.
Ranger14 - 6/17/2012, 9:48 PM
"To me Nolan just took his core characteristics I.E being super intelligent and super strong (without Venom) and basically just created his own interpretation."

,,,but he has no super or enhanced strength because he has no venom. 5'10" and 190 lbs. just isn't physically imposing to someone like Batman who wears the body armor he does, yet we are supposed to believe he is. Had they given him enhanced strength, I may buy into him a little more. Had they cast someone the size of The Rock or Chris Hemsworth and kept him super intelligent I would be able to buy in more. Instead we get an intelligent, little guy who is built fairly well that can't feel pain. That doesn't equate to him being able to deal out pain unless he were bigger or stronger. That isn't Bane to me.
TheBatman50k - 6/17/2012, 10:05 PM
Being physically opposing does not mean that you have to be bigger then a person to be opposing, often times all you have to be is stronger, more agile an give off the appearence that you are a bigger person by having more spirit and you can be just as opposing. Look at Bruce Lee the guy was 5'7 and weighed about 165 and yet people who fought him in tournaments and people who actually fought him were scared of him because his agility, strength and spirit were amazing. Oh and dont forget about Batmans new armor the armored plates are much more separated now so its easy to feel pain.
TheBatman50k - 6/17/2012, 10:08 PM
@Grimm

Here is the problem with this site, there are crazies on both sides people who are waaaaaay to obsessed and people who just hate him. The way I see it if you like Nolans interpretation then you like it. BB and TDK are personally my two favorite CBM's i dont discredit other Batman films especially Tim Burtons, though I dont love his interpretation of the character it is one interpretation.
TheBatman50k - 6/17/2012, 10:19 PM
Just wanted to say if the guy cant feel pain AT ALL then I would be scared sh*tless if I had to fight him.
Darkhaven - 6/17/2012, 11:01 PM
I won't say 'incredible' personally, but I do give the creator respect for being inspired enough to create it and post it for those who would appreciate it.
TheBatman50k - 6/17/2012, 11:18 PM
*sighs* not going to get into an agrument. BUT ANYWAYS this new poster is the background to my computer.
TheBatman50k - 6/17/2012, 11:22 PM
@intruder,

I do have to ask you one thing? why are you on here if you dont think this movie will be good? Its not like you want to like it you just seem to hate it before even seeing it. I mean i dont hate The Amazing Spider-Man i may not like certain things I am seeing but hell for all I know the movie is going to kicka**. Also I didnt even dislike The Avengers like I thought I was going to, I didnt love it but it was good. So why criticize people like me who are trying to have a respectful conversation?
coolcalrissian - 6/17/2012, 11:59 PM
@ninjajesus I understand what your saying but I'd still wait until the movie comes out but to each his own. Nolan's tweaked every villain up to this point and I've been pretty happy with it, especially Two-face. I thought Burton's raping of the Penguin was far worse; besides, the man can really weave a story together. Suffice to say, I'm excited for this movie and Bane is big reason why. It's always neat to see different takes on characters I love, if it ends up sucking I'll just read the comic's where I thought Bane was done better instead of fixate on it.

@Intruder Does my anticipation of this movie make me a 'Nolanite?' I figured I just loved Batman and movies that a well made.

@TheBatman50k Probably boredom. It's just more fun for some to get a rise out of people. Ninjajesus did flesh out the reasons behind his skepticism for this movie though.
Moozreversed - 6/18/2012, 12:20 AM
Greychaos.. love the Crane pics... Scarecrow has been my favorite villain of the series thus far.
Grimm - 6/18/2012, 12:21 AM
@50k
Didn't mean to leave you hanging... war zone and all, stuff comes up. I understand and and concede your POV. My point is that the overboard fans are hypocritical and offensive to the point that they have ME nit-picking the movie into and undesirable mess. Heres where you lost me though... Avengers is THE CBM we (comic fans) have been waiting for. These Nolan fans attempt at all costs to discredit what will turn out to be, if it hasn't already, the floodgate opener CBM of our time! It set a precident for CBMs being accepted by non-comic fans worldwide. It urges me to strike back, because of their blind following of a DIRECTOR not what he is doing to the comic character. Nic Cage has killed Johnny Blaze for me... and I hate him for that! I feel Nolanites and Nolan killing Batman for me now... and I don't like it. I'll still watch and own TDKR from a comic lover stand point...

And a few others. It's pretty hypocritical isn't it Intruder?

and ninjajesus, why dont you make a list of the atrocities that you believe have happened to Bane in TDKR so we can actually know. I'm being serious by the way.
oldnoname - 6/18/2012, 1:57 AM
@Intruder
I'm not a "nolanite" or whatever. But as to your point it is hypocritical for you to complain about these "nolanites" trolling boards and then turn around and effectively troll the exact same article with nonsense like "The midget rises" and calling Bane yoda as a way to insult the character.

You also went and called a few people here "nolanites", as a way of insulting us I assume, without any actual basis. Again doing this (at first anyway) unprovoked. I don't remember anyone asking for your particular brand of useless garbage on this article.

Also, maybe try to contain all of your thoughts in one post. It's just a personal preference, it helps me believe that you're actually thinking about what you are trying to say before you say it and not just trying too hard to come up with a half decent comeback.
Digitaria51 - 6/18/2012, 5:55 AM
Why are people STILL complaining about Bane? Nolan's movies are grounded in REALITY. Why haven't some of you f*cking retards figured that out by now? He's not going to be 8 feet tall and 400 pounds.
kingshnake - 6/18/2012, 6:03 AM
I don't believe a perfect movie has ever been made. This could come the closest.
ralfinader - 6/18/2012, 6:07 AM

This perfectly describes my personal doubts/beef with HardyBane. And I will go on to say that if you are hiring a actor like Tom Hardy, why saddle him with such a one-note charactor like Bane when there are so many more interesting and better fitting and iconic villians for Hardy to play (Penguin, Riddler, etc.) and fit better in this psuedo-realistic world Nolan has built.
ralfinader - 6/18/2012, 6:15 AM
I gotta add, after reading other posts, that I too will be very happy when Nolan leaves CBM's behind. Nolanites just plain suck, hopefully they will move on to his personal website or something and leave CBM's to the true fans.
ralfinader - 6/18/2012, 7:18 AM
You're kidding, right? This is the internet, and there will always be crybabies and butthurtedness. As for Marvelites, well, as Marvel has films scheduled for the next 3 years, I expect more hating on all things non-Marvel to still be forthcoming, especially with a Superman film coming out next year. (what is a Kevinite? Kevin who?)
