A undead sequel is already being discussed!

This is some awesome news to me!

According to IGN with "Zombieland" grabbing the number one spot (and $25m) at the U.S. box office over the weekend, it was inevitable that talk of a sequel would begin.

Screenwriter Paul Wernick certainly thinks an undead re-tread would be a good idea, telling MTV (before the movie came out): "We would love it, and everyone involved creatively wants to do another one."

"Woody [Harrelson] came up to us after the final cut of the last scene and gave us a hug and said, 'I've never wanted to do a sequel in the previous movies I've done until this one.'"

The writer -- who also penned a spec script for "Venom" with fellow "Zombieland" scribe Rhett Reese -- said they have plenty of ideas for a sequel. "We've got a long brainstorming document that still to this day gets updated on a near-weekly basis with ideas. We've got tons of new ideas swimming in our head."

"We would love to do several sequels," Wernick went on. "We would love to also see it on television. It would make a wonderful TV series."

Thanks to IGN.

Ozy: "Zombieland" was an awesome film. So the sequel would hopefully be cool !

The horror comedy, which stars Woody Harrelson, took $25 million this weekend in the US - and it seems it will spawn a sequel. One of the film's screenwriters, Paul Wernick, said, "We would love it, and everyone involved creatively wants to do another one. Woody came to us after the final cut of the last scene and gave us a hug and said, 'I've never wanted to do a sequel in the previous movies I've done until this one.'" Wernick added, "It has lived in our heads for four-and-a-half years. We developed it and wrote it as a spec TV pilot in the summer of 2005. We've got a long brainstorming document that still to this day gets updated on a near weekly basis with ideas. We've got tons of new ideas swimming in our head." So I think with this, they will not need any payday loans.

11 sequals? Krap, Woody would be 90 by the last one! Now that's something I would pay good money to see! Woody trying to fight zombies in his 90's! Of course I myself would be dust by then! lol

I've already seen Zombieland twice now and each time I've watched it I've enjoyed a little more each time.

I'm not surprised that their talking sequel and I welcome it.

My only thing is that hopefully they will bring in a few more survivors...namely BLACK survivors. I saw a lot of black zombies, female zombies, but all of the survivors were white.

Not that was a bad thing but just mix it up a bit.

I would love to see a black rival trying to always one up Talahassee (Woody Harrelson) for "Zombie Kill Of The Week" or eating that last tweenkie. I'd even welcome that she was a angry black woman with a gun fetish.

I am glad to hear that their will be a sequel, but disappointed that they are already planning multiple sequels. A second movie will work as good or better than the first, but I am beyond skeptical about a third movie.

A TV show could do well if picked up by the right network.
