Nooo, why would he win when he's such a sh!tty actor??? I'm all for Skarsgard!! Then Witwer!! Seriously can't believe Brock Lesnar got A vote let alone 38, that's [frick]ing crazy. I guess the reason Topher is so high is because people hate to see continuity screwed up, even if the casting is bad.

@LEEE777:Uh..yeah I said it in the article.^ I think he was good in Spiderman 3 ,defentley a good performance to me. Dominic Purcell just doesnt look like Eddie Brock or Venom to me.

Topher Grace was THE worst possible actor that could have been chosen to play Venom and I honestly cannot believe he made second place!!

Skarsgard and Purcell are the two best choices IMO!

Out of these choices here is how I would rank them for being the best Brock. Some of these choices I wouldn't consider WHATSOEVER like Brock Lesnar.

1st- Alexander Skarsgard
2nd- Sam Witwer
3rd- An Unknown

I voted Skarsgard, he is good in truelood but he was a monster in generation kill, that part when he was running around acting like a plane, u have to see it to know what i mean, to go from a trained soilder to acting like a kid in a split second, that dude can act...

skarsgard's a good actor - generation kill and lee already said true blood and i wouldint mind if he did get the part but purcell does have the look of eddie brock and if he pulls off his character it could defo be a winner.

Dominic Purcell is definatley the REAL Eddie Brock! (unless thr gonna do th Mac Gargan storyline, but i doubt it. i still really want a venom REBOOT, not spinoff. i mean how r they gonna spin it off from SM3 without making it completely retarded or screwed up to the point that it sucks more than SM3?)

and how is topher grace in second? i really didnt like him as eddie brock. wen i saw SM3, i wuz like "HAHAHAHAHA, ITS ERIC FORMAN! how is he gonna go from 'scrawny dumbass' to 'strong jerkass?!'" i really couldnt see that happening.

@torched: Easy. He's a Scrawny Dumbass TRYING to play a Strong Jerkass that only came across as a Ridiculous Cockass. And so, the trifecta is complete.

As for SKARSGARD these are the good MARVEL parts for him, KAZAR & THUNDERSTRIKE, though THUNDERSTRIKE he'd hav'ta bulk up big time lol.

TOPHER was one of the worst casting choices in cbm history as VENOM, total suck-o-meter, SAM WITWER should never ever be allowed near a cbm character ever again after DOOMSDAY!

The main reason I think people voted for Grace is because a lot of people want to keep continuity between the Venom spin-off and Spider-Man 3, like Ryden said before.

I myself thought Topher did a very good job as Brock, BUT WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE FILM, so don't flame me or attack me for saying I liked his performance. I did like it, but only because they used Eddie/Venom as a mirror image of Peter/Spidey, and Grace did very well with that characterization.

But, since Spidey won't be in the spin-off, it doesn't make sense to use that same mirror-image portrayal, so they need to make Venom more primal, vicious, and sinister, which Topher wouldn't work well with, so out he goes. Topher's a great actor, but he doesn't fit Venom's animalistic qualities.

Alexander Skarsgard for Venom, then Sam Witwer, then Purcell.

Just my 2 cents :)

I'm a little disappointed there was no option for:

"Please God No! Don't make this film!"

Personally I wish that fandom would collectively, en masse, put the message across to these studios that unless Marvel is doing them, we don't want to see them.

But as long as we're prepared to shell out for any old rubbish, then I guess they'll keep producing any old rubbish...

HOLY ROFL@Topher Grace actually getting votes for being Venom again. Venom is my second favorite comic book character ever, and Topher was horrible. Now Dominic? He doesn't necessarily look like Eddie Brock, but a little hair piece is no big. He's got the build. As long as they ACTUALLY give him his dark and scary voice.
