Want To Be In An X-Men Movie? Here's Your Chance!

A charity auction has been set up to allow one lucky fan the opportunity to not only meet the X-cast, but film a scene with them.

MTV SplashPage has uncovered an online charity auction that offers X-Men fans a chance to win a role in one of the upcoming films. The auction benefits the WorldWide Orphans Foundation, and is being run by CharityBuzz.

Here are the details, courtesy of their official press release:

Share the excitement of film making with a walk-on role in the next installment in the highly successful film series, X-Men. Although cast information has not been announced, the next X-Men film will likely find the series' previous stars returning for more action-packed thrills. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will also give the winner a chance to meet some of the actors who may be on set that day. Filming is anticipated to begin in 2011, location to be determined.

This experience has been graciously donated by one of the film's producers, John Palmero. John is a founder and partner of Seed Productions, a film, television, and theater production company with offices in Los Angeles and Sydney. Seed’s most recent film, Wolverine, opened to over $85MM domestically and the number one spot at the box office. Palermo served as producer on that film, as well as Seed’s first film, Deception, a thriller starring Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams. Additionally, Palermo executive produced Viva Laughlin, Seed’s foray into television programming. Last year, Palermo was instrumental in overseeing all elements related to Hugh Jackman’s stint as Oscar host, producing a massive opening number, as well as a mid-show musical extravaganza.

The proceeds for this item benefit ,a href="http://www.wwo.org/">Worldwide Orphans Foundation

What has yet to be disclosed is which X-Men movie the winner will be featured in. The only two currently on Fox's film slate are Brian Singer's X-Men: First Class and the sequel to last year's X-Men Origins:Wolverine. Since the press release from CharityBuzz states the project is set to begin production in 2011; it could also be referring to the Wolverine spin-off Deadpool

But be sure to read the fine print, True Believers. Like most Hollywood promises, things aren't always as good as they seem:

Valid for one person. This is a non-speaking walk-on role with no guarantee that the winner's scene will be included in the final cut. Location and shooting schedule is to be determined. Does not include travel or accommodations. Not valid for children under the age of 18. This item cannot be resold or reauctioned. Winner subject to security screening.

The auction's item is valued at $25,000 US; and bidding has already reached over $3,000 US. Regardless if you choose to bid on the part or not, check in with CharityBuzz to see when they will disclose the title of the forthcoming X-film. The auction ends on April 1st, so if you plan on bidding you'd better hurry.

Though it doesn't seem like much to win, the proceeds go to needy children and the opportunity will truly be a memorable one. That should be good enough for any fan!

I plan on winning this auction - but I only in order to get the chance to punch Bryan Singer right in the face. The fact he's directing X-Men: First Class is just further evidence that Marvel Studios need to get the rights back to these characters ASAP!
JoshW - 3/12/2010, 2:45 PM
Cool.
Joker1Zero - 3/12/2010, 2:47 PM
I think the "security screening" takes me out of the running.
BillyBlack - 3/12/2010, 2:50 PM
so...the whole point of winning this thing is that you get to be in one of the x-men movies. but then the small print says, "This is a non-speaking walk-on role with no guarantee that the winner's scene will be included in the final cut."

does anyone find that hysterical?? i know i do.

thats like entering a contest to win a car, and then winning, and them not giving you a car, lol.
CorndogBurglar - 3/12/2010, 2:50 PM
@CDB: The fine print is the reason I posted the article lol

Next they're gonna say that you have to buy your own airline ticket to get to the film set. . . in New Zealand
MultiPurposePoni - 3/12/2010, 2:53 PM
@ multi

lol. too funny

CorndogBurglar - 3/12/2010, 2:57 PM
and you have to buy and make your own costume
P862010 - 3/12/2010, 2:59 PM
Ah well, what can you do lol

Really it's the experience that matters, not the actual scene. Meeting the whole cast and possibly scoring some exclusive memorabilia would be good enough for me! This should definitely go to a fan of the X movies and not some wannabe actor.
MultiPurposePoni - 3/12/2010, 3:00 PM
JOSH @ Buddy worry about that [frick]ing ULTIMATE WEBB reboot Sh1Te dude!!!!

Not FIRST CLASS lol! ; D
LEEE777 - 3/12/2010, 3:01 PM
Very nice PICS on the side @ MULT!

Very cool!
LEEE777 - 3/12/2010, 3:02 PM
LEE: My hatred for Bryan Singer overpowers my hatred for high school Spider-Man, lol! :P
JoshW - 3/12/2010, 3:05 PM
singer's movies are actually good and have some substance

yes they may not be as fantasy driven as i would like but still
P862010 - 3/12/2010, 3:09 PM
JOSH @ Well it don't me!!!

WEBB is gonna [frick]ing destroy the Spidey franchise!

Oh and X-MEN & X2 are two of the best cbm movies ever made!

Yes BORIGINS and X3 were smelly turds, but SINGER wasn't involved! ; P
LEEE777 - 3/12/2010, 3:11 PM
Please like x-men..we'll help kids and sh*t!! lol...im all for charity tho :D
teabag - 3/12/2010, 3:12 PM
LEE: I hate X1 and X2 more than the third one and Wolverine combined! I dont like Bryan Singer's directorial style, the badly casted actors in the roles or the crappy characterisations. There are countless other things I could point out but I cant be bothered, lol! Just my opinion. :)
JoshW - 3/12/2010, 3:16 PM
@josh: Agreed x 7! We don't have any info on how the Spidey reboot will turn out, but we already KNOW how Singer likes to [f*ck] up portray the X-Men. I'll give Webb a shot at a Marvel films any day of the week before Singer.

@LEEE: Thank man, I try lol

@tea: Well, this guarantees one ticket sold

You know whoever wins the auction will be pissed as all hell if they take their friends to see the flick and their scene ends up on the cutting room floor :/
MultiPurposePoni - 3/12/2010, 3:18 PM
so how the [frick] do you win it dosent say how
and im a fan of the x-men and i also want to be a actor
flames809 - 3/12/2010, 3:22 PM
This would be cool indeed. I would hope they would at least notify you if your scene doesn't make it in the film.

Multi: How do you go about placing the pictures side by side with your text?
Hawksblueyes - 3/12/2010, 3:25 PM
@flames: Follow the hyperlink genius

@Hawks: Like this (without the *) -

*<*img src="http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k158/ponyboyzero/x-men-first-class-wide.jpg" align="right"*>*
MultiPurposePoni - 3/12/2010, 3:29 PM
Josh - Do me a favor if you win... kick Singer once in the 'short-n-curlies' once for me after you punch him in the face (you're not the one to feel this way!)!!!!!
loganoneil - 3/12/2010, 3:30 PM
singer is fail...as are all x-films thus far...fail
Anil Rickly - 3/12/2010, 3:33 PM
MULTI: Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Spidey reboot but I'm still hoping for a Stan Lee/Steve Diko inspired movie with a modern twist - I've already seen Singer use the X-Men comic books as toilet paper, lol, so I'm pretty sure that I wont enjoy First Class!

Still, I'll give him a chance for now - of course, that's completely pointless as I did the same thing with X-2 and Superman Returns and hated both of them!

The fact that X-Men Origins: Wolverine took away Emma Frost's British roots still eats away at me...I dream of the day I see a Marvel Studios X-Men film with Miranda Raison as The White Queen!

Sigh...keep dreaming bub. ;(
JoshW - 3/12/2010, 3:38 PM
@josh: I feel your pain bud. I'd rather be on the Iron Man set anyway :)

I call dibs on the brunette on the front right in the first pic
MultiPurposePoni - 3/12/2010, 3:39 PM
@MPP

Wadey09 - 3/12/2010, 3:40 PM
Nice backsatge shot..literaly lol :P

Flames@ By all means apply but dont blaim us if you win, then get dropped off in the middle of nowhere with nothing around except one set house and Singer greeting you like this......

teabag - 3/12/2010, 3:42 PM

flames809 - 3/12/2010, 3:46 PM
loganoneil: Not a problem - it'll go down something like this... :)

Poni_Boy: @reneehlock Where are you in those photos? It feels like playing Where's Waldo

reneehlock: @Poni_Boy In the beginning. The trailer doesn't show much. U will just have 2 go see the movie May 7th & watch the 1st 45 seconds carefully

Poni_Boy: @reneehlock I'll start the petition for an Ironette spin-off movie. Think you can dance in that gear for 1.5 hrs?

reneehlock: @Poni_Boy You know it!

Poni_boy: @reneehlock I heard they might need some dancers for the Captain America movie that'll be set in the 40's. Can you can-can?

reneehlock: @Poni_Boy O can- can !!! Ha. Sounds cool.

http://comicbookmovie.com/fansites/comicbooktherapy/news/?a=15742
MultiPurposePoni - 3/12/2010, 5:54 PM
Multi@ Yeah i love how the guy doesnt know anything but its news lol :P
teabag - 3/12/2010, 6:01 PM
This is probably for Wolverine II. Seed productions was one of the production companies on the first one, and it's Hugh Jackman's.
Skeletor - 3/12/2010, 6:01 PM
I did an article on that, looked for another one and couldn't find one. So I post mine and looked down and noticed his update. Dammit Man!!!!!

Multi: I don't mean to be a pain in the ass but in reference to posting the pics like I asked you about earlier, I replace these *<* with these (<) right??
Hawksblueyes - 3/12/2010, 6:17 PM
@teabag: Yeah after that second update I'll jumping on the 'I call bullshit' bandwagon.

@Hawks: Just don't add any of these= *

If you're still having trouble just shoot me an email
MultiPurposePoni - 3/12/2010, 6:24 PM
Thanks again. I'll give it a try.

Multi: I got it, thank you sir. Now I am going to try and figure out how to put text with it and arround it.
Hawksblueyes - 3/12/2010, 6:27 PM
@Hawks: You just embed the image first and start the text right after the last >

Don't forget to put a break at the end of the text *<*BR CLEAR=LEFT/RIGHT/BOTH/ALL*>* or the words will keep wrapping

Then just have fun with it and post pics on both sides. . .

To the LEFT!

To the RIGHT!

Down the CENTER!

MultiPurposePoni - 3/12/2010, 6:49 PM
Thanks man. I'm tinkering with it on some of my older articles. It's tricky figuring out how everythings going to line up. A lot of fun though.
Hawksblueyes - 3/12/2010, 7:11 PM
Right now im Pointing UP :D
teabag - 3/12/2010, 7:13 PM
tits and a$$...they are god
Anil Rickly - 3/12/2010, 7:18 PM
Fox couldn't pay me enough to be in one of their damned X-Men movies.

In fact, Fox should start a charity fund for all the comic book fans that they've screwed over for the past 10 years.
supermarioworldE - 3/12/2010, 8:11 PM
So pretty much we have to bid on it and if someone is a rich little brat they will get the part before the less fortunate!!!Way to keep the line thin lol
Damien666 - 3/12/2010, 8:16 PM
They wouldnt want me in 1 of there movies. I have 12 tattoos that are comic book related so I am sure I would be sued for something LOL
Damien666 - 3/12/2010, 8:17 PM
I'm guessing they need some money for the film...?
luv1138 - 3/12/2010, 11:32 PM
love the x-men films, keep them coming. although i know i would love them more if marvel had the rights back to them or fox let marvek work them out.wish marvel had the rights but i'll take what i get.
1chris2 - 3/13/2010, 5:36 AM
