EXCLUSIVE: Green Lantern Scene Description: Battle for Oa

Good Morning troopers, here's the latest report fresh from the Green Lantern movie set in New Orleans, Louisiana. The crew has been working through the nights to capture CGI heavy scenes; last night's, in particular, should be quite breathtaking in it's final form:

- Filming took place at the New Orleans sound stages

- The scene was a fight between Hal Jordan and Parallax that starts on Earth (during the "mass panic" Farmer's Market event), then travels to Oa (the headquarters of the Green Lantern Corps)

- Parallax has a massive, insect-like body, with numerous "tentacles"

- Full color cut-outs were used as stand ins for Tomar Re (which stood 6'6 feet tall) and Kilowog (7' feet tall)

- Though the body/facial structure is similar, the suits for the alien Lantern Corps members don't look like the ones depicted in the concept art leaked several months ago; they are not shiny and have a dark, organic texture. Tomar's face has a much more defined beak; while Kilowog's face in more pig-ish.

- The Oan battle is fairly long and will be the penultimate scene in the movie

@blue from what i hear the Green lantern comic con trailer was "watermarked" even if you recorded it it wouldnt show up on camera

@tankgirl I will try to explain it best this way. on US currency bills, there is a watermark that shows up in light to tell if it is real or not, basically like a fingerprint.

The GL trailer was watermarked to where even if you tried to film it or took a picture of it, it would show up as a blank screen on camera, most likely copyright stuff and legal stuff. So even if someone had a hidden camera, when they got home it turned out blank.

Reminds me of a time I tried to take a picture years ago of my cat watching a bird show, the flash made the TV screen just blank, like it was not turned on so we couldnt see that my cat was watching a bird show. Something similar to that.

@pietro makes sense that it would be an infared strobe light, we couldnt see it with the naked eye but it doesnt pick up on camera, makes sense now

@pietro Hey I havent been putting up images like on the Ryan correcting the Oath thing, thats all other people, I tried to sway them back on topic

yes I guess if someone actually comes through with it watermarked or not. And even if it was watermarked put it up at least we get the audio.

@tankgirl even a still would mess up a camera, whether it be camera phone, digital, disposable Kodak cameras, the infared would make it show up blank

any how if someone did record the footage and noticed it was watermarked, who cares just post it up. Let's see the effort.

@tankgirl If it was not watermarked, it would be online, the Pirates 4 teaser got its way online cause It wasnt watermarked. I have a feeling the studios were doing this because of the Iron Man 2 ones that got bootlegged on youtube last year after comic-con as well as *shrugs* New Moon (well you couldnt hear anything in the New Moon one but girls screaming and one yelling OMG This is going to be the BEST MOVIE EVA)

@alternate Studios have a great knowledge of fan sites and have a security staff monitoring websites such as Youtube and all, and especially popular fan forums to throw the legal stuff at you

Still not feeling the hype for this. On the fence. I hope they don't mess it up and I haven't seen anything yet that makes me think it will be "epic".

@intruder—ohhhh ok yeah i got it. i remembered our convo but i thought you were referring to an argument—as i recall we were pretty much in agreement on that discussion! both of us agreed that if they were going to bust out parallax in the first movie it needed to be no-holds-barred awesomeness. looks like they read our comments and took that advice. thank GOD they went with the bug—now when P possesses HJ and/or kyle in GL3, people will understand what's going on. hopefully they won't possess him now... that'll be too much for this movie.

@poni nah, on our screens that video shows as "private" and tells us we need to be your youtube friends to watch/listen. thanks for the effort though... you've been working like mad for the past week or so. well, always, really, but even more so since the con.
