Are we ready to Obey the Princess?
Princess Lucinda Nightbane isn’t your typical Princess and definitely not you’re typical 12 yeas old girl.
She has been described as the Anti-Disney Princess. Instead of sweet she’s sarcastic, instead of the victim she’s the villian and instead of being the victim of spells she’s the one that casts them.
She’s also not the best role model either; she smokes cigarettes in a dainty cigarette holder, sips on wine and treats those around her like peasants (When she’s not turning them into things with her magic)not exactly the kind of thing that makes a Hollywood heroine. Yet maybe that’s what makes her unique.
Princess Lucinda is precocious but not annoying, witty and smart and just about everything characters like Barbie and Brats isn’t. She strides to the beat of her own drum and when she is being the hero she is the one saving the boy not the other way around.
In a lot of ways she’s a lot like “Hit-Girl” in the comic (and soon to be movie) Kick-Ass self reliant, powerful and taking no prisoners. But is that going to work for the general public?
I guess we have to wait and see.
