Sony Teases New TASM Trailer With Poll

Sony has begun teasing a brand new trailer for 'The Amazing Spider-Man' by asking fans what THEY want to see in the brand new trailer. Click the jump to see how you can cast your vote.

Via the official Facebook page of The Amazing Spider-Man, Sony has begun teasing a brand trailer for The Amazing Spider-man by asking fans what they want to see in the upcoming trailer, rumored to hit within the next month.

Fans can choose between the following choices on what they want to see:


  • Spidey in Action

  • When Peter Met Gwen

  • Bring the Funny

  • Peter's Missing Parent's

    • or

  • The Lizard.

Spidey in action and bring the funny, with a quick view of the lizard. I don't want to see it unless it's perfected, which I doubt it is at this point in time.

spider-man 2 is the second best cbm ever made,as for spider-man 3 i can only watch the action scenes of that movie the rest of it sucked.

Why is it everyone is against this movie when everything about it so far looks great. Yes there is debate about the suit, but at least someone other than Tobey McGuire is wearing it. In my opinion that automatically makes the suit less gay...

I don't want comedy. The general audience does not want comedy.

They want excitement. This isn't Kick-Ass or the Green Hornet or... pffft... Tropic Thunder. The MOMENT you advertise it as an Action-Comedy, you'll lose viewers. Lots of viewers. You want people to get excited for the movie. Even the trailers for Iron Man and Thor didn't have alot of comedy until after the title or in a few TV spots. THAT'S how you do it.

So no. I don't want comedy until I actually see the movie.

All of the above, but if I had to pick I say bring on the funny. Anything to wash the emo Toby Maguire Spiderman from my mouth.


Anyway, I really think this movie will be the sleeper hit of the summer. It will make more than The Avengers, and honestly I don't think it will be that close. I say this does 50 million more than The Avengers. Not saying The Avengers will be terrible, I just think more people will see Spiderman. Remember all the nerds cancel each other out, and you are left with the average film goer.

The average film goer didn't make Cap or Thor a huge success, yet made Spider Man 3, a billion dollar movie.

Plus I honestly think you will see Alien Invasion fatigue. From a completely objective standpoint all comic book movies look silly. However, The Avengers probably looks the silliest of all. Again, I think the movie will kick ass, but I also see a lot of average film goers being turned off by it.

Spiderman is a proven franchise, and if they knock the next trailer out of the park by showing a more numerous spider man I can see this movie doing really well.

The Dark Knight Rises, has the cred. from The Dark Knight and Chris Nolan (despite what haters think that name does carry a lot of cred to your average film goer). I just think The Avengers will be left in the cold, plus being the first movie released in the Summer Movie season doesn't give it a lot of weeks with no competition.

The Dark Knight rises will face almost zero competition through out the rest of the summer months (something that helped The Dark Knight tremendously). Unless of course you count GI Joe or The Expendables 2 as competition. I think it will look something like this.

The Dark Knight rises 370 Million
Spider Man 280 Million
The Avengers 210 million.

All will be great films though.

Actually I may be wrong now looking at the Release dates. I thought Spider Man came out in May not July. Hmm, it is being released two weeks prior to The Dark Knight rises. Actually The Avengers may make more money because it lacks really tough competition until MIB 3 and Spider man. I think The Dark Knight Rises will kill any momentum Spider Man has.

If I were the Studio I would move up the release date to mid May. Give it a solid month with weak competition until The Dark Knight Rises is released.

Spidey in Action

Unless SONY is smoking bad weed, this is a given. They've already had a teaser trailer with nothing in it. It's unlikely the next trailer will showcase an inactive Spider-man.

When Peter Met Gwen

It's a boring movie detail. If they wanted to show that, the teaser was the forum for it. Save it for the film.

Bring the Funny

This choice is dumb for two reason: 1. It is not uncommon for this type of film to include some form of comedy in it; especially a Spider-man film.

2. There is NO WAY that "Bring the Funny" means that the first full trailer would contain only gags and jokes.

Peter's Missing Parent's

From a business standpoint, including Peter's parents would give the general audience something to differentiate the film from the original trilogy. They'll probably think it's a prequel, but at this point, any interest is good interest.

The Lizard.

Spider-man takes care of itself. It's Spider-man. But we've never seen the Lizard onscreen. For fans and the gen-pub alike, the Lizard would blow socks off- that is, if he's done justice, of course. It is the no-brainer choice. The film rides on the Lizard. The sooner you unleash him, the better. That way of he sucks, you have time to fix him.
