Confirmed, Steve Bacic is The Dark Archer in "Smallville"

A number of online news sources of Superman Home Page are reporting that Steve Bacic has been cast in the role of the Dark Archer for an up-coming episode of "Smallville" on the CW Network.

The episode is to be titled "Disciple." Steve Bacic's character is Green Arrow's mentor, teaching Oliver (Justin Hartley) archery skills, though he don't need them now. Comic book and Green Arrow fans are speculating whether or not this is the same character known as the villain Merlyn the Archer in the DC comic books.

Little note here, if Bacic looks familiar to you, it's because he appeared in the first episode of "Smallville" way back in 2001. Also another note I'm sure there was a news article about Green Arrow in a newspaper back then too, but don't quote me on that!


LEEE777 - Great stuff, I reckon he could be Merlyn, though I hope not because that part was made for Bruce Payne. Still can't wait for this episode.

I would've said that too @ BMAN @ last year since that piece of sh1Te of season 8, but season 9 has got really good, the magics coming back, though its abit [frick]ed up in places! : D

@ LEEE , I agree with you, season 8 should just be forgotten, this season happens to be way better indeed the magic is coming back and hey and if principles are too be followed forgiveness should be a decent principle, yes i forgive you smallville for the shit ass season you gave us.

see even big nick thinks this season is the shit this season, they are on full canons, but hey there hasn't been a season starter this good for a while now. yeah... i forgive 'em lol

Bacic's a good actor! Ideal for Dark Archer.
Smallville is on a roll and is picking up speed!

I can't believe I didn't know he was in X2. What part was that? I've seen the movie a dozen times, and I can't recall when or where he pops up. HELP!

Season 8 is like Highlander 2 to me. It DOESN'T EXIST! The "climactic" fight between Clark and Doomsday was WEEEEEEEAAAAAAAK! Any news of Bruce Wayne making an appearance, or have they squashed that idea? i also heard rumors of Diana.
