The source of where this video was recorded is unknown at this point, but it looks completely legitimate. You may need to turn your volume all the way up to get a good listen at the voice cast but you can easily spot how good the animation looks on here.

The Dark Knight Returns stars Peter Weller (Robocop) as Batman.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is a four-issue comic book limited series comprising The Dark Knight Returns, The Dark Knight Triumphant, Hunt The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Falls, written and drawn by Frank Miller, originally published by DC Comics under the title Batman: The Dark Knight in 1986

Awesome. Sad thing is, Every aspect of this looks better than TDKR to me.

I'm digging the DC toilet lid insignia too.
Dynamo - 6/25/2012, 6:06 PM
The Graphic Novel is overrated IMO. Regardless, I am looking forward to seeing it adapted in animated form.
Stwarnee65 - 6/25/2012, 6:07 PM
Awesomeness!
Haduken - 6/25/2012, 6:28 PM
Looks absolutely brilliant.
CaptainObvious - 6/25/2012, 6:30 PM
My only worry is that it will be too faithful to the graphic novel, which will offer nothing new to anybody who has read it.
Deadpool101 - 6/25/2012, 6:32 PM
Amazing !!
GuardianAngel - 6/25/2012, 6:35 PM

HeadPool420 - 6/25/2012, 7:37 PM
Cant wait! To bad it cant be live action with Clint Eastwood as Batman! One can dream.
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 6/25/2012, 7:47 PM
@hope420

You do realize Clint Eastwood is 82 years old right? He is three years older than Michael Caine. Clint Eastwood would have been perfect for this movie 25 years ago, but he is way too old to be doing any sort of action movie.
Tainted87 - 6/25/2012, 7:48 PM
Peter Weller can nail it. Clint Eastwood is a legend, but he's not a voice actor - that may not make much sense, but acting in a booth is completely different from human interaction. Peter Weller's big claim to fame had all but his mouth covered. It is the voice that makes the character.

Honestly though, I thought it was Michael Ironside for a moment.

It's been a long time since I've read this - did Two-Face have the bandage wrap in the book?
IgnurRant - 6/25/2012, 8:01 PM
lol Gambit Freaks gif
WhatThe - 6/25/2012, 8:07 PM
wow what a horrible casting choice for the Mutant Leader
Tainted87 - 6/25/2012, 8:10 PM
Who voices the Mutant Leader?
Cosmo - 6/25/2012, 8:12 PM
Captain Obvious--why would you want something new added to this? This isn't like Walking Dead where there's a bunch of differences between the comic and the show--and that works for the newbies and fans alike. I want this to be as faithful to the comic as possible.
OptimisticPrime - 6/25/2012, 8:15 PM
Tainted, yes. Powers Booth for Batman if Zack Snyder directs a live action TDKReturns.
dahamma - 6/25/2012, 8:18 PM
noW THIS is going to be awesome
UrbanKnight - 6/25/2012, 8:22 PM
looks pretty good. probably be pg 13
scmittydude - 6/25/2012, 8:23 PM
That actually doesn't look half bad
superotherside - 6/25/2012, 8:24 PM
Looks amazing!
scmittydude - 6/25/2012, 8:26 PM
Gary Anthony williams. @Tainted87 only things I know him from are malcolm in the middle and blue collar TV
Minghagz - 6/25/2012, 8:36 PM
So excited for this! Best comic ever, imo.
Tevii - 6/25/2012, 8:46 PM
Gambitfreak - I completely agree that this looks better than TDKR.... but TDKR is supposedly a mix of this story along with Knightfall... so who knows TDKR might be good
Tevii - 6/25/2012, 8:48 PM
dynamo - its only overrated to todays standars. But this is the book that changed everything in the ENTIRE comic industry. This is what enabled comics to be what they are today...

Overrated is the movie "The Dark Knight" IMO
LeoKragg - 6/25/2012, 9:00 PM
I've been waiting for this since 1986 I reckon. Looks beautiful. I just don't like the part 1/ part 2 crapola:(
LeoKragg - 6/25/2012, 9:03 PM
Which means, like many people, I'll be waiting til part 2 is out before I get part 1. Man, so many scenes I can't wait to see!
MarkV - 6/25/2012, 9:03 PM
I confirm Fanboy's comments.
MarkV - 6/25/2012, 9:06 PM
Animation looks good, voice acting sounds BAD. Mutant Leader sounds like a tranformers bad guy on a Saturday morning cartoon. *ouch*
BIGBMH - 6/25/2012, 9:18 PM
I respect TDKR for its impact and significance but I just don't think the story is that great. I prefer Year One.
