Niagara Classics Transport is a provider that offers custom vehicles for film and telelvision production, which were recently featured in the Total Recall remake and TV spots for The Olympic Games.

During an interview with a Niagara newspaper, NCT revealed that a Robocop film crew are currently in discussions with them to provide vehicles which would double as retrieval ambulances in a pandemic scene.

The president of Niagara Classics Transport, David Mole said “We’re helping to recreate a catastrophe that happened in the original story."

Could this catastrophe be when Clarence Boddicker gets the launchers and causes panic in Detroit City? We may possibly know more once Robocop starts shooting in early September in Toronto.

In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

I still hate it that they are remaking Robocop. Every remake thus far has sucked massive balls so what makes this any better. Robocop is an action movie classic and doesn't need a reboot/remake.

I agree, a remake/reboot is unnecessary. Next, I suppose Hollywood will want to remake/reboot the Godfather.

So long as they keep the over-the-top violence and the social satire, I think it'll do alright. Otherwise, what's the point?

Who the [frick] cares if it's a remake..they can update the story, apply it to the current times, new vision.
All I ask for is a good movie. If somebody has a interesting story to tell on a movie that's been made, so be it.

Reboots CAN be good, they just usually aren't. Here's a list of good ones:

Batman Begins
The Amazing Spider-Man (not great, but good)
Dawn of the Dead
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Friday the 13th
The House on Haunted Hill
The Thing
Battlestar Galactica (I know it's TV, but it proves my point)
The Ring
Let the Right One In (haven't seen either version but heard the remake was good)
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (same deal)
Star Trek
Death Race
Incredible Hulk

Every film made is an adaptation of something else. Either a book, a video game or just a screenplay. Where it came from doesn't matter, only the end result.

The best remake ever made is The Magnificent Seven, which of course is a remake of The Seven Samurai.

don't forget Casino Royale in the list of well done reboots.
TPerryoo7 - 8/12/2012, 4:06 PM
Ah yes Casino Royale.

Heres to hoping, all of this sounds very very interesting. Dare i say... fresh

@Fettastic....just because most of those are remakes doesn't mean they are better, Most of the examples are far better when they done back in their original eras, some were done better today. Nothing will top practical effects, CGI should only be a tool to assist not be an entire focus. The Horror remakes by the Michael Bay studios have loss the charm of the originals. The original Friday the 13th had far better and more likable characters than the annoying dudes, bros, and hoe's the remake had. Remakes miss a big world, and its called Subtlety. They throw so many nods and winks to the originals that new viewers would be confused.

I don't care how great this cast is, we seen great casts fail in movies before. this new Robocop will never ever top the original, Peter Weller IS Robocop and always will be.

Heres what they should have done with this......make it Robocop 4, ignore #3 like it never happened and have the focus be on a new person becoming Robocop....easy as that. Why hit it with the reboot button and make another franchise of movies only to remake it again. Its the ouroboros effect

@Spider23 Man I really disliked Amazing Spider-Man. I wouldn't really consider that one a good reboot
musashi - 8/12/2012, 7:10 PM
The Seven Samurai is a classic! Often remade, never topped!
riseofLOGANX36 - 8/12/2012, 7:53 PM
@superbatspiderman I feel the same about amazing spider-ass and x-men first ass. But im surprise robocop isen't a teenager, but im sure he will be. Ans also there was a tv show about robocop and three tv made movies.

Eather make spider-man 4 or nothing. Eather make x-men 4 or nothing.

And amazing spider-man is the biggest flop and biggest peace of shit of 2012 and is the worst spider-man movie i ever saw and is the worst spider-man movie of all time! This movie should of always been Spider-man 4 Directed by Sam Raimi and Peter parker/ Spider-Man by Tobey. Tobey is and always will be Spider-Man.

And as for this RoboCop remake... I wont buy that for a doller!

UNTIL next time TRUE BELIEVERS!

@riseofLOGANX36 ...For you to state your dislike for TAS is Your BIASE OPINION. I felt Raimi butchered Spiderman for me, also I disliked Toby Maguire as Spiderman. They should of gone with their first Choice of JAMES FRANCO... instead of switching it up. Also, Raimi purposely destroyed the Franchise because of HIS dislike for VENOM. If you dislike a character, and there is a disagreement between the studio than tell them to screw off. Rather than saving FACE he pulled a Jerk Card out of his ass. I LOVED The Amazing Spiderman, just because you didnt doesnt give you the right to speak for me or anyone. The TWO biggest disappointmenting movies in 2012 was Prometheus and The Dark Knight Rises (My Opinion).

Best Comicbook Reboot film to me is Batman Begins, Not the Trilogy...But, the movie itself. It was about Batman, had Batman in it MAJORITY of the movie, scarecrow was a perfect way to execute the idea fear and just the movie script was well written and had good character development.
greentag - 8/12/2012, 9:43 PM
All of the X-Men movies were terrible. All the new Batman movies were well directed, but they were too far from being "Batman movies."

The first Spiderman movies were ok except for 3.

Haven't seen this new Spiderman yet.
johnblake - 8/12/2012, 11:16 PM
the reboot,
its just sucking by the minute. robocop should not be a transformers type ordeal. small dark and cyberpunkish. mature themes, cute chubby partner. is that so hard. not a high budget movie, but an intricuite critisism of the times
