I think it deserves it.since backlash is only from cbm community.general public likes it.
JatevinM - 5/24/2013, 1:05 PM
I've seen people outside the CBM community say they weren't a fan of it.
EdgyOutsider - 5/24/2013, 1:05 PM
General public likes it, critics like it. The comicbook community is actually pretty divided on it. I personally enjoyed it. Not a bad movie but definitely is one of the weaker MCU movies. Not a single MCU is below good IMO. I expected it to gross over a billion but... I don't think it deserves it. Comicbook fans don't like it cause it's got a dark tone but still feels light hearted and the fact they made the Mandarin work in a more successful way.
ALegendaryPanda - 5/24/2013, 1:08 PM
Cool.
Rambaldi47 - 5/24/2013, 1:12 PM
I really wish Transformers 3 would get knocked out of the top 5. I don't think it deserves to be there. I know a lot of people don't think Avatar deserves to be #1, but that movie at least had some redeeming value and an actual plot (Pocahontas ripoff or not). Dark of the Moon was just not good. I wonder if it'll take Star Wars VII or Avengers 2 to knock it out.
Zessus - 5/24/2013, 1:15 PM
Um... cool? I thought this was a gimmie, tbh. IM3 was a fun ride for sure, but I'm not a huge fan of the character, so I didn't have a personal stake against the treatment of the Mandarin.

However, as a comic fan, it did unsettle me even though I can't understand why. I guess it was just on principal, knowing how a character got screwed over. I do think it would have been cooler if the Mandarin really was the Mandarin, because he was a way cooler character than the guy with the yellow teeth and Syndrome-complex (I honestly can't remember his name).

It wasn't that surprising, given the Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo debacle. But even with that and the strange flimsy armors, I though IM3 was a real IMAX blast. Great for fun, wouldn't buy. But for what it's worth, I'm glad it's doing so well financially. The IM franchise is the only one from Marvel I really love on its own.

@crossbones

ya.none of mcu movies are below good.im3 for me was very good but with few corrections it could have been epic.i agree with u.
Brainiac13 - 5/24/2013, 1:18 PM
Yes it deserves the spot but does not change the fact that they strayed away from the source material and just made a comedy!

I'm just hope that the future of MS does not turn into a Disney style comedy.

Well well well I like the Olive Garden but not fazolis.
LucasMend - 5/24/2013, 1:23 PM
Next: Skyfall. Will it beat THE AVENGERS and RETURN OF THE KING? Marvel is really enjoying this, they got some good money coming in, should stop being so cheap.
Brainiac13 - 5/24/2013, 1:23 PM
@Crossbones

IM3 has no dark tones! But the Trailers did!
Zessus - 5/24/2013, 1:29 PM
I don't get it, why is everyone expecting a flame war from this?
EdgyOutsider - 5/24/2013, 1:29 PM
@Brainiac3000: The overall tone was dark and it does have some very serious moments. Unfortunately, the overkill on the humor and them inserting humor in unnecessary places is really what killed it. It's not blatantly obvious like The Dark Knight Rises, X-Men: The Last Stand or Spider-Man 3. But, the overall tone is a darker tone.
Brainiac13 - 5/24/2013, 1:39 PM
@Crossbones

Comming out of the theater...I just remember this as a comedy!
Jollem - 5/24/2013, 1:40 PM
so far, the only parts that are good in all the iron man stuff is the origin, but that ain't nowhere near batman begins quality. after he gets out of the cave, i don't really care a whole lot
maryboo - 5/24/2013, 1:41 PM
The question everyone should be asking themselves is how the hell did that crappy Burton Wonderland movie make so much money?
brazilianbatman - 5/24/2013, 1:55 PM
this third Iron Man installment was not better The Dark KnightRises(3rd movie), Skyfall(3rd movie)or Lord Of the Rings The Return of the King(3rd movie) but its definitely better than Transfomers 3 so im glad Iron Man 3 will soon beat Transformers 3. Iron Man 3 also has a chance to beat Harry Potter 8 and become the fourth highest grossing movie behind Avengers, Titanic and Avatar.
TayDee - 5/24/2013, 1:56 PM
78 rating on RT, but a "not so glowing reviews from critics" makes perfect sense.
brazilianbatman - 5/24/2013, 2:01 PM
the main reason I didn't like the movie was because of the superhero pepper potts killing the villain, then second was mandarin being an actor and third was the stupid comedy. I don't think it was a bad movie like green lantern, it was a good movie if you can get over what I said above.
I really miss what marvel did with the first iron man and the incredible hulk in 2008 at that time their movies were action/adventure but now it seems that they are going towards new territory with comedy/action. it doesn't mean its a bad thing but I like more serious and realistic setting on movies.
Brainiac13 - 5/24/2013, 2:02 PM
@0megaDaGod

I do agree with you but the GA saw this as a light hearted comic book comedy.

The 2nd time I saw this was with my boys and they loved it and could enjoy it with them.

I just don't want anymore MS films to go in this direction.

Do you want this type of tone in future MS movies?

Durf - 5/24/2013, 2:04 PM
Welp, get ready for the flame war in 3...2...1...
DanteSparda - 5/24/2013, 2:06 PM
Flame on!

I'm happy for Skyfall, didn't know it made that much money, it totally deserves it.
MrMartinMarvel - 5/24/2013, 2:06 PM
It deserves it whether the fanboys like it or not. Like everyone else said, critics like it, GA likes it, polls actually show most people on this site like it. Thus it deserves it.
MarvelWeiner - 5/24/2013, 2:10 PM
Marvel did just that?

TelaVizion - 5/24/2013, 2:14 PM
Damn str8 it did
GodzillaKart - 5/24/2013, 2:18 PM
IMO it was a better 3rd to a better trilogy.
TheManFromMars - 5/24/2013, 2:18 PM
I gave my contribution three times!

I liked it
Amazing512 - 5/24/2013, 2:19 PM
What's the excuse now haters? The main people who didn't like it are the bitchy comic fans. The general public mostly either really liked it or loved it. I read the comics and I give this movie a 9/10.
HelaGood - 5/24/2013, 2:20 PM
didn't take long...

MrMartinMarvel - 5/24/2013, 2:20 PM
It'll probably beat Skyfall, but I don't see it beating Return of the King.
Jollem - 5/24/2013, 2:21 PM
"Oh noes, I had a near-death experience and saw aliens. Now i hyperventilate and have panic attacks and can't sleep."

hey, rdjr. :

you had 4(yes, count them) near-death experiences in your first movie. the 4th time in your first movie is when you put your life on the line and pepper saved the day.(the avengers was actually the 2nd time you put your life on the line. i'm ignoring the lousy writing)

oh, you saw aliens, huh? wait, didn't you kick the shit out of a pretty alien god-thing? you actually met a couple pretty alien god-things. what about the hulk monster? does that make you hyperventilate? you were making jokes the whole time during and after the alien battle

or, how about this :

you saw aliens? SO DID EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WHOLE FRICKING WORLD!! don't be such a pussy

so much bad writing

Iron Turd 3 FTW! Yay!
Jollem - 5/24/2013, 2:28 PM
im3 was boring shit. tdkr is the better film
TheManFromMars - 5/24/2013, 2:29 PM
I loved Batman Begins. Liked TDK.

I stil think TDKR sucks, I rather watch Tank Girl again than to see that shit again.

MarkV - 5/24/2013, 2:31 PM
Both films took a giant dump on their characters. I'm not saying they were all bad. Both had some pretty decent moments.

But give me Dark Knight and Iron Man 1 over these two films any day.
JonG303 - 5/24/2013, 2:31 PM
IM3 wins the box office, TDKR wins the critics. Both lose fan adoration. Tie!
AmazingFantasy - 5/24/2013, 2:32 PM
Goddammit the general Auidence are more retarded than I thought.
ArtisticErotic - 5/24/2013, 2:32 PM
Ironman 3, The Dark Knight Rise nor Transformers Dark Of The Moon deserve to be on that list, the rest I'm cool with.
