RUMOR: Bryan Cranston a Possible Favorite to Play Lex Luthor in Man of Steel Sequel

Is the Breaking Bad actor going to head to Metropolis to take on Superman?

This bit certainly belongs in the "file-it-away-and-see-what-shakes-out" folder but super-duper-Latino scooper, El Mayimbe, has thrown out some tweets today indicating that Cranston, best know for his role on AMC's Breaking Bad, may just be one of the leading candidates to portray the bald arch-enemy of Superman when the Batman/Superman movie hits theaters in 2015.

El Mayimbe tweets:

FANBOY BLIND ITEM: Which superhot actor finishing final season of hit TV show who also was in 2 films for WB is up for juicy badguy part? :)

In fact, this actor is in this studio's tentpole which comes out next summer. :)

FINAL CLUE FOR Y'ALL FANBOY KNUCKLEHEADS WHO CAN'T TAKE A HINT: This actor played a bad guy (embarrassed that he did) on the POWER RANGERS.

Clearly a reference to Cranston who will be staring in Godzilla for Warner Bros. next summer. We'll have to see how this one shakes out, but this is a choice I could be happy with. IF Cranston is Luthor we will certainly be moving away from the real estate tycoon-buffoon we have seen before.

I agree.... I want to see Mark Strong Return as Siniestro....Even if Reynolds doesnt return as part of the DCCU. He could be off in other sectors while another GL is iintroduced into the JL. WB needs to put their THINKING tanks on instead of getting wet with just thier trunks on.

1 he may be a fan favorite but didn't HE even confirm a while back he hasn't been asked anything but he showed his interests in lex...

yes!! They did say that Steve jobs/bill gates type of guy but didn't they also say they want him to be young??
Also I thought lex was ready confirmed this was a while back like early 2012 I think that one of the vampires from relighted was up for being lex...
