Green Hornet is Filming

Green Hornet movie starts filming...FINALLY!!
"The Green Hornet" release date may have been pushed back a few months, but the good news is filming has finally begun on the classic radio show adaption. Sony announced today that filming has commenced. It turns out that all the bitching about Seth Rogen being the lead hasn't stopped him from starring in it.

That’s great news considering this project’s terrible history of false starts and failed good intentions. It’s been a long process getting "The Green Hornet" made but it looks like, at last, this thing is really getting done.

A few days ago it was announced that the release date will be December 17, 2010. They have a long time to figure out how to get one of the greatest detectives done right. So what do you think? Will this be a good movie? Can Rogen be The Green Hornet? I think so, do you? Discuss it all and more below.

i think rogen is a really weird choice for this. i'm not excited about the movie at all, i'll probably just wait and see it on hbo. never cared for the green hornet. but it just seems like a very strange choice

I'd be happy to see how Seth does in this role. That kind of actually makes me want to see it more.

I DO NOT LIKE ROGEN AS THE GREEN HORNET AT ALL!

I Wish they had got somebody that was actually COOL and SUAVE.... Even if he was a Funny guy, at least LOOK like he's a Cool, Suave guy.

Rogen just Looks like The BEER MAN!
Seriously....Like a Goofy Character from the Hangover.

He needs to LOOSE WEIGHT!

He would need Full Fledge MAKEOVER to make me Remotely Tolerate him.

His hair needs to be Dyed Jet Black and...

Ugh...I just don't see it.

I would only be looking foward to seeing KATO!!!

PERIOD!

I think that this movie is going to a Catwoman style train crash...

I think Rogen is as a choice for The Green Hornet as Halle Berry was for Catwoman.

@ nubax

i remember reading that he was losing weight for the role, but your right about not being suave. i just can't picture him in that type of role

especially not after hearing about him eating a box of nerds out of a strippers butthooolllle!!! lol, sorry pineapple express is too funny
CorndogBurglar - 9/3/2009, 1:33 PM
Actually SCOURGE, Halle Berry was a great choice for Catwoman, they just farked up everything else about the movie. Now, Storm of the X-Men, THAT was horrific casting choice for Halle Berry.
mwmcintyre - 9/3/2009, 1:43 PM
FINALLY.
Bandrews1 - 9/3/2009, 1:53 PM
@ mwmcintyre

yeah, and to think they were considering an x-men origins: storm movie, that would be a farce. storm in the movies is a farce to begin with, but to have her playing storm is just unforgivable. lol, they don't even mention once, the fac that she's from cairo. terrible

I am firm believer that if you are going to make a movie, especially one that is based on existing and long established material, then you should do your best to have the actors playing the various roles look as close a possible to the source material. Not thing about Halle Berry. either costume or appearance wise, looked liked Catwoman. They didn't even call her character Selina Kyle, how is this supposed to be Catwoman? A CATWOMAN, maybe, but not THE Catwoman...

Some examples of good casting:

RDJ as Tony Stark/Iron Man
J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson is Spiderman
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

Some examples of bad casting:

Halle Berry as Storm--largely cause she had no story.
Christian Bale as Batman--I thought Clooney and Bat-Nipples was as bad as it could get. turns out I was wrong.
Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet--Really? That is the best you could come up with? Ugh...
SCOURGE - 9/3/2009, 3:04 PM
As long as Seth doesn't try to make it funny and stick true to the story line it will be ok.
Kratos6 - 9/3/2009, 3:23 PM
this looks sad . next he'll be Dirty Harry or MacGuyver
undeadpool - 9/3/2009, 3:27 PM
I havent looked into the Green Hornet storyline yet.

Weiner123 - 9/3/2009, 4:07 PM
MWM-HEY NOW THATS A NEW WORD FOR MOVIES THAT TURN OUT LIKE CATWOMAN---"FARKS"..EXAMPLE; CATWOMAN WAS A FARK...ELECTRA WAS A FARK...HOPEFULLY THE GREEN HORNET WILL NOT BE AS MUCH AS A FARK AS MANTHING, THAT WAS A SERIOUS FARK.
GUNSMITH - 9/3/2009, 4:39 PM
---F .A .R. K.----"FILMED ABSOLUTELY RETARDED KRAP" AND THE K IN KRAP GIVES THE KRAFT CHEESE IMPRESSION BECAUSE THE FILM WAS CUT IN SUCH A WAY IT IMPLIES A FART HAPPENING IN YOUR FACE--LADIES AND GENTELMEN THANK YOU MWM-"FARKS"
GUNSMITH - 9/3/2009, 4:44 PM
I don't see it. Strange casting. It's like Michael Keaton playing Batman.
