Official Release Date for "Transformers 3" From Michael Bay... Plus a P.S. to Megan Fox

Michael Bay issues a statement about Megan Fox as well as Transformers 3...

With several rumors on the web stating the release date of "Transformers 3," Michael Bay officially announced this morning when we can expect a follow-up to "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." He also felt obligated to address Megan Fox after her recent statements.

"Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. 	@Phinehas I corrected the typo but I guess the error stemmed from the article being about part three, whereas the particular statement was dealing with part two. @KeepItReal Megan will definitely be in part three as it appears currently but the film is two years away, so who knows except her and Michael Bay. I didn't have an issue with her in the film because she does bring the "eye candy" appeal to the series. 	I think she knew her position in this action film when she was a "nobody" and signed on. Once celebrity-ism hit due to the box office smash of the first film, photo shoots in FHM and dozens of other magazines, interviews on television, etc...she entered the realm of the, "I'm more than a pretty face." She's exposed everywhere and perhaps she hasn't been grounded to know her acting isn't really "acting." It's really being on camera, having lines here and there and pouting her beautiful lips. It's about seeing her batting her eyes, not stimulating ones intellect by a portrayal on camera with the likes of Meryl Streep. She's been typecasted in my opinion as the "it hot girl" and there's nothing wrong with that because not every musician is a great singer or instrument player, not every actor is an exceptional actor, not every artist is Leonardo...you guys get the point. Who knows, maybe over time, she'll grow into a more well rounded actress but then again, she's earning millions by being pretty, her publicist doesn't care about her going down in history as the best actress. 	@Keepitreal I definitely agree but some girls type-casted as the "hot girl" hate the title, so they try and move beyond the roles where their only direction is to keep teenage boys and men aroused. They try and hone their acting abilities and even when others label them as the hot girl, it isn't because her roles are dull/bland but it's because she is hot...but at the end of the day, she can still act. For others like Megan who are physically beautiful but don't like the "hot girl" label and yet each time we see them on film, it's representing another hot girl role, it's confusing to say the least. I currently can't really think of someone who was labeled the "hot girl", hated the title and changed it by choosing her roles more wisely to eventually become an actress critics/fans can take seriously. 	Yes, she was heading in that direction. Not with the action genre like Megan Fox, but with small dramatic roles in movies staring A-listers. When the movie Monster came out, people realized she had some serious acting chops. Angelina Jolie on the other hand embraced the 'hot girl' persona and it worked out phenomenally for her. But then again, she is an outstanding actress. Unfortunately, Megan's rise to stardom was TOO fast and it appears that it got to her head. Look at actors like Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson from the Twilight saga. They are two of the most Googled celebrities but they try hard to stay out of the spotlight. 	@multipurposeponi My older brother has been in roughly ten years in the Army...not entirely sure of his MOS, but I do know he has his Airborne shield and trained to be a Ranger. He was also a staff sgt but as far as E6, etc...not sure his title/class. My older sister went in four about six years before joining Merrill Lynch as a Senior Specialist. I also had a cousin my age that left after five years or so who is now in school for radiology/nursing. I commend you guys...I really do. 	@KIR I think Deadpool would win over Punisher. I love both the characters in their own rights, but if it came out to a face to face death match I'd give it to Deapool. Four main reasons: 1) He has a healing factor that is greater that even Wolverine's 2) Personal Teleportation Device 3) His strength, speed and agility are at superhuman levels 4) He's a sadist Regarding flames809's story, I think it will never see the light of day. I don't think he has an original idea. It looks like he picked and chose aspects he liked from other stories. He doesn't even have a plot or a theme laid out. He was not receptive and just wanted us to clap and say "that was good." You could tell he was young even before you asked him. It sounded like he was inspired by blade somewhat. 	@KIR No, no, no they changed 90% of his back story in that movie (how and where his family died, his military history, his job). It's one of the main reasons I didn't like it. I'm one of the few that liked Punisher War Zone the best out of the three movies made. BTW, Deadpool was Army Special Forces, so either way I would have chosen one military guy over another. 	it should have been 2012 rather than 2011 1. Already the summer is too crowded.maybe that's good for us but not for the movie industry as they will eat into their business and good movies may get crushed.Remember hellboy 2,poor film got cusped between giants of Hancock and TDK.By the time Trans3 arrives most of us have had our fare share of action 2. Bay needs a break desperately,like Nolan who made Prestige between the two bat movies.the time he can invest in building a good story. 3. 	@multi- off topic. Although I am not American (Canadian) I have a huge amount of respect for military personel. Just want to say thank you to you and your counterparts for giving up so much. Please know that a lot of people out there appreciate the things that you and people like you do. Now onto the article. I loved the 1st one, I liked the 2nd one and hope Bay learned from his mistakes and makes a kick ass 3rd one. As for Megan, could care less if she is in it or not. 	DON'T HAVE A LOT OF FAITH IN THE NEXT INSTALLMENT.. I must say ROTF was pretty darn bad.. let me put that in context. I think as a 1st gener and lover of the comic and the tv series when I was a kid it sucked. As an objective viewer with no frame of reference to the history it was only kind of bad. I beleive that's the stance Michael Bay is making.. he's tailoring these films to be for any and everyone.. which kind of sucks because when no one cared and the Transformers where languishing away in Spielberg's mind.. they kept enticing the fanboys to ramp up buzz and this is how we get repaid for our loyalty. All these directors are interested in one thing the box office haul they'd sell there first born to get one blockbuster let alone 2.. I think they'd sell there own mothers into slavery for that.. I know I'm a purist but I just think there is no saving tis franchise.. the CGI is good but some of the decisions Bay makes.. make no sense.. I wish he had just focused on the early storyline and left the Matrix alone.. he screwed that all up.. why is the story focused on the human beings, I don't give a rats ass about shia lebeuf... why does he have so many of the transformers on both sides sounding like animals or snivviling cowards.. ahhh I think Michael Bay took a queue from George Lucas and the Autobot twins were his ja ja binx... why take so many liberties with the character design.. that was a TERRIBLE Devistator.. again.. I'd like to see more humanoid looking robots not whatever the Fallen was supposed to be.. not Megatron with teeth to eat what? Energon? ahhhhhhhhhhh I have to agree with a critic of the first movie.. he wasn't a fan knew nothing about the story but he couldn't tell who was who.. why aren't the ensignia's featured prominently? Ohhh so they are robot's in disguise? what rubbish.. I guess in the third one they'll say Transformers don't exist again and that it was an elaborate hoax... oh and Bumblebee will still not have his damn voicebox fixed.. what a steaming load of crap.. very self serving on Michael Bay's part.. thinking "Hey.. the using songs to communincate bit really was a hit let's do it again" ohh never mind that at the end of part 1 he could talk again.. idiot.. did anyone else feel like the last hour of the moive was just shit blowing up?? I mean it wasn't even focused.. I'd like to see the autobot's fight the decepticons and have the hero and antagonists be from those groups.. they don't need humans to win battles for them.. come on Sam.. figures the puzzle out he obtains the matrix. he gets visited by the Primes (such crap) and he puts it in Optimuses chest just to have it taken away again by the fallen? Im not really sure what the 3rd movie is going to be about but I cant think of anything they could do with the Transformers besides dedicating the movie to just them in the 3rd installment. Sam and Mikaela have been played out, what else could the writers possibly do with those two. Especially Sam, there seems to be nothing left for those characters to contribute. I think every1's main complaint will be heard which is less people more transformers. Hopefully the writers and directors dont take that as adding additional transformers to every scene.
