I only watch the 3D versions at the dollar theaters, hate how everything looks darker with the glasses and don't think the full price is worth it.

@JagFan because it's the Tuesday before July 4th so July 3rd would be a holiday day also. They are trying to get a gigantic 6 day haul. It needs on the low 170 for the 6 day but for it to be back in a big way and be a big hit it needs closer to 190-215 (for its 6 day). They know 'The dark knight rises' opens less than 3 weeks after this film and the weekend TDR opens Spiderman will drop 70-80%. This will also be historic the only time ever that a Batman and Spiderman movie will be in the theaters at the same time.

3D is a gimmick cause thats the only way they can still make lots of money, cause its impossible to make a bootleg of 3d film with its 3d effects, thus more people will see it in theater... The industry for the most part really doesn't give two craps about the experience, its all about the bacon being brought in

Lets be real the only reason this crap fest is being made is because there afraid to loose the rights!

Hell look at Punisher war Zone one of the worst movies ever made...This is going to be the same thing but people will pay for it!

If you translate all the double talk, what they're basically saying is; we got the small cheap cameras and we'll be able to rush through the production process and save money. Then they throw in some hi-tech mumbo jumbo as if they are re-inventing something. Bullshit. Typical color-loss and dark 3D.

3D will work great for Spiderman, especially the web swinging scenes. As long as they don't over do it, like have him being thrown at the screen by the lizard or anything cheesy like that.
Is Green Lantern in 3D as well? That'd be good in 3D... Im glad TDKR won't be 3D, it wouldn't be right, and I'll be seeing Superman in 2D as well.

How exactly do you expect them to make movies ? Movies cost a lot of money; without raking a lot in to cover your losses, you won't be making movies for long.

movies converted in 3D in post are killing the GA perception of 3D because they look so crap.
movies should be made to clearly state if the 3D is native (shot in 3D i.e. avatar) or if the 3D was acheived in post production (clash of the titans).

They announced months ago that spidermans 3d would bedrooms breaking and would be the first DVD released in a format that would require no 3d glasses

I don't mind the 3D as long as it's properly developed. So far the best movie in 3D has been the last Resident Evil. Although the movie wasn't that great the 3D was awesome. I'm looking forward to this movie doing some great action sequences in 3D. Can't Wait!!!

The film makers purposely brighten up the film to compensate for the dim effect the classes have. so en essence, when u take teh glasses off and its super bright and you put them back on and its dimmer, thast the way they intended teh brightness to be and the 2D version will look the same as when u have the glasses on in the 3D version

I think 3D movies only work for animated films. It's more for the kids. I don't mind 3D but animated films seem to fit it best for the clarity it already has to pull off the 3D.
