What's your point?
SeaSerpentine
SeaSerpentine - 3/29/2011, 9:30 AM
A trailer for a DC movie is attached to a Marvel movie.

WOW, JUST WOW.
RoscoeFolgers
RoscoeFolgers - 3/29/2011, 9:30 AM
@Marvel72- Yeah. What the Hell kind of movie needs to be promoted? Pussies.
RoscoeFolgers
RoscoeFolgers - 3/29/2011, 9:31 AM
@SeaSerpentine- Every trailer is attached to every movie that's out at the time in some theater or another.

marvel72
marvel72 - 3/29/2011, 9:41 AM
@ dynamo/roscoefolgers

don't think its funny that they use a marvel film to promote a dc film.

couldn't they attach it any other movie,i suppose they stick with something that people are actually gonna see.

thats why it wasn't with sucker punch.
PaulRom
PaulRom - 3/29/2011, 9:43 AM
Oh, the irony.
At least we know when we're getting another trailer.
RoscoeFolgers
RoscoeFolgers - 3/29/2011, 9:45 AM
@Marvel72- You think it wasn't with Sucker Punch because they wanted to attach it to Thor? I think you missed the entire point of the article.
Hellsing
Hellsing - 3/29/2011, 9:46 AM
I think this is good move by WB honestly.

Well Thor's the same crowd as Green Lantern would be. And if it is to redeem itself in the eyes of comic book fans, it's the perfect film to put it in front of.
nordberg
nordberg - 3/29/2011, 9:54 AM
You know... I'm definitely more a Marvel fan than a DC fan but people who talk shit about a movie that they haven't seen simply because they prefer one publisher over another really ought to shampoo my crotch.
AlternateNo4
AlternateNo4 - 3/29/2011, 9:54 AM
proof that while idiot fanboys piss & snivel at each other, the actual companies understand that they're all in this together. every win is a win for the genre, and every bomb is a body blow.

john q. public doesn't know the diff between the companies anyway.

preaching aside, i'm nervous. i didn't think promotion SHOULD have started until mid-april, but i think a week into may is a little late. time will tell.

hahahahha WOW! Green Lantern's second trailer being released a month before the actual movie is released, nice job!! Besides toys, what other exposer has GL had? T-Shirts? an old movie trailer? Lunch boxes?

Exactamundo. It makes perfect sense to market their product in front of a film in the exact. same. genre.

This is great! The trailer = amazing!
Rao111
Rao111 - 3/29/2011, 9:59 AM
The whole reason there was no new trailer for so longis because they were working on the CGI. That is all.
Hellsing
Hellsing - 3/29/2011, 9:59 AM
@AlternativeN04 well Thor's being released here in the UK on the 29th of April and Other countries in Europe and Australia in April,I think its a good move, plus its the first blockbuster of the summer.

Never understood the whole DC vs Marvel crap, although I read more marvel comics then I do DC, I don't think its fair to judge GL just on the first trailer.
GarthRanzz
GarthRanzz - 3/29/2011, 10:02 AM
I wonder if they are going to attach a Captain America trailer or Ghost Rider in front of Green Lantern as part of a deal?
StrangerX
StrangerX - 3/29/2011, 10:03 AM
Wow..So everyone that was stating the special effects weren't done and it will look better were right.
OnLeatherWings
OnLeatherWings - 3/29/2011, 10:04 AM
FINALLY!!!! all we needed was an explanation this whole time! Fact it took them this long to release a statement is kinda ridiculous. Never the less this is great news and im stoked! Just give us some new pics every week or so, thats all i ask WB
AlternateNo4
AlternateNo4 - 3/29/2011, 10:04 AM
@ darkmatter - um, are we arguing or agreeing today? i can't tell.

@ hellsing - an extra week will definitely help in the non-USA markets. and i agree about the summer thing... in the US kids get a week off in spring and most of them will be getting the week of april 18. that's when people really start thinking about summer, so i thought it'd be the perfect time to kick off a campaign for the first big movie of summer vaca.
AlternateNo4
AlternateNo4 - 3/29/2011, 10:05 AM
@darkmatter - good... i like it better that way ;)

Not surprising. If I remember correctly the second full TDK trailer was shown on Iron Man.

@Froshsplash

Fastestmanalive - 3/29/2011, 10:10 AM
At least we get an explanation, and it does make sense after the uproar from last time, sux though that theyre starting so late, hope they still have enough time to hype it up properly.
SmokinIndo
SmokinIndo - 3/29/2011, 10:11 AM
The Spider-Man 3 teaser trailer was attached to Superman Returns, so this shouldn't be that surprising.

dahamma - 3/29/2011, 10:21 AM
Lol wow this is Ironic! After all this GL vs THOR debate looks like Thor is gonna help promote GL! lol EVEN MORE PUMPED TO SEE THOR!! woo!!! gonna be a great time!
CapFan79
CapFan79 - 3/29/2011, 10:27 AM
Ha! Piggybacking on Marvel and acknowledging their trailer sucked. WB doesn't have anything to promote it with since Arthur is the only film they have until GL. GL's trailer better be the shiz because if Thor is awesome people will forget they even saw it when they leave the theater. Not to mention Cap's second trailer should play with Thor too along with Transformers 3 and probably Cowboys & Aliens or the second X-Men First Class trailer.
