whoa that is mid blowing,cool and just plain awesome....this is slowly turning out to be my most anticipated.

you know on a side note green lantern and cowboys an aliens are the only 2 CBMs that have hired 2 recognized visual effects companies.GL from sony imageworks and cowboys is from industrial light and magic,THOR x men and Captain America for me unknown visual effects companies.So i guess we should give some credit for that,they are quite good in this business.sony has spider man,Alice in wonderland etc to their name and ILM is of course is huge.
so im sure GL will turn out to be fun good like star trek,star wars like :)

Holy [frick]! Say what you want but Green Lantern will still be the best cbm for in a [frick]ing long time! And I have no doubts that it content will be far more amazing than I can imagine!

Yes but will the general public look at this and say "man that movie looks good!" Or will they say "WTF are all those things...." the last few posters and banners don't really scream 'non-comicbook fan.' Im a little shocked WB isn't advertising this more to the general crowd. To be honest if I didn't know this was a comic book movie or who some or those characters are (and I don't know who most of them are) then I woulnt find this movie attractive. Im a little afraid that lack of knowledge will hold this movie back from a very large crowd

@ ThreeBigTacos - well WB has been advertising this in tv in various shows,magazines etc so they clearly are reaching out for non comic book movie goers as well,but yes i do agree that it will be interesting to see if they "buy" it.I mean despite the advertising they must watch the movie.
but there is a significant population who adores comic books when MARVEL and DC fans combined.(even though GL may not have a huge individual fan base like batman or spiderman)But like DC fans watch MARVEL movies it is bound to happen vice versa as well.I mean in the end we are all CBM fans if the movie is done well.
Look at star trek im sure $255 million didn't come off only from star trek fans,I for one became a fan after watching the movie which I thought was awesome after hearing good word of mouth.
So I hope that initially the comic book fans will turn out and give this movie a big opening and then their word of mouth will propel this higher to general audience like in the case of star trek,iron man (which also don't have huge individual fan base)etc.
I think the best comparison is Iron man (famous among the comic book fans but not so among general audience but became HUGE thanks to 1st ones sensational word of mouth,even the approach to the 2 movies are quite similar)

with iron man though they had RDJ he was'nt a huge star but back in the day he was. GL has RR and yea he has a fan base but its not even as close to RDJ.


and does anyone know why there hasn't been a interview with the director by now?...because that to me is a bad sign

This looks nice, but for some reason the aliens still look kind of phony to me. Won't stop me from watching the movie though, as I'm sure they'll look great in it.
