@Jazzman Of course people are mega excited for The Hobbit. Peter Jackson's LOTR films are regarded as some of the greatest movies ever made. They won a shit tonne of Oscars and are world renowned as masterpieces of cinema.

The Hobbit may not be as big as LOTR but it's still a very much known story, and witht he same people producing/directing it, and the fact that Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, and Hugo Weving are returning to it just increases the hype.

My list would be...
!. The Avengers/The Hobbit tied.
2. The Amazing Spider-Man
3. The Muppets (I live in the UK)
4. The Dark Knight Rises

@Jazzman Of course "most people on here" can't wait for The Avengers and stuff...this is a comic book movie site. But if you broaden the horizon and look beyond that, the fact that this film is associated with LOTR makes it an instant must see to almost all audiences. The Hobbit has a much bigger impact in the mainstream market than to a lot of us comic fans. I just love Tolkien so it's right up there for me with The Avengers.

@antman73 Yes, Sean Bean is in Mirror Mirror (don't know how that happened). He is The King, but isn't in any of the promo pics or videos (super fail). Haven't seen Once Upon A Time, been meaning to investigate further to find out if it is worth watching.

@EmpressSkeith I didn't bother commenting on Twilight being there since it is only in the Women's list, there are a lot of girls who love the franchise so I wasn't surprised. Mirror Mirror making it on the Men's and Women's list was totally weird to me.

Green Lantern won most anticipated, so these type of polls means nothing.

Apparently is enough for some to go ape-shit over.
