New Action-Packed Trailer For BATTLESHIP Debuts!

Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Inspired by Hasbro's classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancee; Alexander Skarsgard as Hopper's older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's father), Admiral Shane.



Battleship is set to hit theatres on May 18, 2012.

The sound effects are a little too close to Transformers.

The machines are a little too close to Transformers.

I'm really quite perplexed as to why this is called Battleship.

I love how people give Michael Bay shit for His Transformers movies, which I will not disagree with anyone on the quality, yet they still go and watch.

Does anyone know the budget? Cause if it's 150million or less I see all profit.

You poor Marvel fanboys, its funny how ya'll hate anything that is not Marvel. The the nerve you guys have to sit here and bring up how this movie sucks because it looks like transformers. When the Avengers trailer is in the same boat because that movie looks like it was filmed by M Bay along with transformers three to the point that I though Shia was going to run out and yell Optimus! Then the thing at the end of the trailer looks like something shock wave left behind but ya'll give that movie a pass because its y'all precious marvel film. All hail Marvel. You guys are a bunch of hypocrites.

I dont know why, but everytime I watch this trailer I hear Rihannas song "hard" in my head :/

I agree, too many trailers are starting to mimic the trailer for Transformers 3 (quick action shot followed by bizarre robot sound & such)and I don't know why (except maybe the billion dollar take that movie got). However, Battleship is also plastering "From the makers of Transformers" all over it. Also, the premise of this movie has nothing to do with the board game they're touting as the "source material". It's pretty clear that they just want to reinvent the wheel here. With Avengers, they may have used that same trailer style (which I hate) but at the end of day the heroes and villains of this story are NOT Transformers lite. Either way, I still contend that someone in Hollywood lost a bet and this is the result.

Dont know about Rihanna being in the film, Liam gives it cool points though, and kitsch well.. is kitsch, dont think that he'll hurt or harm the movie, so with that being said I repect Peter (Hancock) Berg waaayyy more than Michael Bitch, and his adolecent attention span.. I guess I would give it a shot.

The only thing this film has to do with the game is there is a battleship in it. I guess they need some marketing ploy to try to get people to pay to watch the film.
