So cool Marvel has done this sort of thing for fans. Shame they didn't do this at the press screening I was at on Friday. First time I've been to a cinema where the crowd has clapped and cheered throughout and after. It's that damn good. :)
manymade1 - 4/15/2012, 1:57 PM
@ Josh Is it Oscar worthy?
JoshWilding - 4/15/2012, 2:00 PM
manymade1: In terms of special effects, without a doubt. The Hulk is one of the most amazing CGI creations I've ever seen. ILM's best work yet. As for the movie? I'd like to say yes, but when the Academy snubs films like The Dark Knight and Shame, I doubt this has a chance of getting a nomination unfortunately!
manymade1 - 4/15/2012, 2:06 PM
Great to hear. Seeing as TDK, Spider-Man 2, Iron-Man didn't get Best Picture nominees I guess it'll just get Special Effects nominees but I'm just glad to hear it's being put as the greatest Marvel or CBM film.
GiantNerd0720 - 4/15/2012, 2:08 PM
Nice find Wolvie.
Shooter - 4/15/2012, 2:10 PM
The academy didn't snub TDK
Spidey91 - 4/15/2012, 2:10 PM
"there are movies, and there are epic cinematic experiences. that one was one of those"

quote FTW
WolvieCBM - 4/15/2012, 2:15 PM
Bastard: Clearly you have no idea how these things work. Hulk already had 2 films, one of them was under Marvel Studios. While the film was a modest success, it wasn't a huge hit. With all the money involved in making that film, I don't think anyone should be surprised by Feige's comment. Just because WE want a Hulk film, doesn't mean it must happen right away. Not to mention a different actor who is playing him in Avengers. Now that people are praising Ruffalo's performance, things could change. This is also a very big risk for them. And yes, considering that MS started with Iron Man and everyone thought it would flop, and now 4 years later we are getting a [frick]ing Avengers film, they are a pretty damn good studio.
Shooter - 4/15/2012, 2:16 PM
These geeks are so geeky they give geekiness a bad name
WolvieCBM - 4/15/2012, 2:17 PM
GiantNerd0720: Cheers.
MGS - 4/15/2012, 2:18 PM
Does the Avengers raises the bar in terms of CBM depiction like TDK did previously?
MGS - 4/15/2012, 2:19 PM
Weta did the work on the Hulk, not ILM.
WolvieCBM - 4/15/2012, 2:21 PM
Neos: Nope, ILM did the Hulk, WETA did some other shots.
MGS - 4/15/2012, 2:23 PM
WolvieCBM: ok, my mistake.
Fogs - 4/15/2012, 2:26 PM
Wolvie - nice answer, couldn't have said better myself.
JoshWilding - 4/15/2012, 2:26 PM
Neos: Hell yeah. Both Nolan and Webb will need to do a hell of a lot to top this.
GreyChaos13Zero - 4/15/2012, 2:28 PM
yea, this has what it takes to be EPIC. lucky people, I can't wait to watch this?)

JoshWilding - 4/15/2012, 2:43 PM
Ironman53: I wasn't too impressed when I listened to the samples on Amazon. Works absolutely perfectly in the movie though (an epic score for an epic film).
kevberg - 4/15/2012, 2:44 PM
I distinctly remember seeing articles ( even on this site ) that WETA was doing Hulk.

I pecan't say with absolute certainty , But ILM screwed up so bad on most of the stuff from HULK, I'm inclined to believe its WETA.

I don't worship at the altar of ILM. HULK was a misfire in a lot of places ( the lighting on the character rarely matched the surroundings , the reflective light rarely gave the character weight, the hulks head was too big, he looked too gummy in some shots. I could go on and on...) I did like some elements of shots...they did shine on the HULK in the night time scenes he looked very solid there.

Too me, Weta 's Kong and LOTR Ogre and Sony's Spidey digital double looked far more consistent.

But whoever did it, this hulks looks far more believable..so Im good!

superotherside - 4/15/2012, 2:44 PM
Can't wait.

Josh Wow, it must be fantastic to deserve an Oscar. You got me even more excited about it. If that's possible?!?! :P

@alx2125

God dam you man....god dam you...
WolvieCBM - 4/15/2012, 3:37 PM
Bastard: Dude, being a jerk won't help you much here. I replied to your comment by saying you are not familiar that well with how these things work and you reply with an insult right away? Bravo. Anyway, yes, they were pleased, but the film itself was NOT a hit. The budget was $150M and the film made $263M WW. For a film to be a success, it needs to make double its production budget plus some of the marketing money (around $50M). Going with the simple math, around $350 would be just fine for the TIH to be a success, as well as confirming plans for sequels. Just because they were pleased, doesn't mean they will spend another $150M on something that might not be profitable. Hulk clearly works as a team character and that's the formula they might use for the future.

@ bladesblade,

Can you copy/paste some of those tweets and verdicts you have read from "normal" people? Perhaps you could even write an editorial article on this website regarding those tweets and verdicts you have read. If they really exists.
GiantNerd0720 - 4/15/2012, 4:09 PM
I second Comix's post. Wtf man?
brewtownpsych - 4/15/2012, 4:13 PM
@gaston -- you sound like you have a few niggles about the movie overall. what's sticking in yer craw? or do you just think that for a movie it's as good as you can get without being considered for an academy award - meaning it just fails short. but i find that hard to believe based on the reaction on this site and elsewhere. also, many, many good-not-great films have been nominated for academy awards so why not this one?
SageMode - 4/15/2012, 4:21 PM
Awesomeness sauce. MAY 4th midnight needs to hurry the hell up.
WolvieCBM - 4/15/2012, 4:29 PM
bladesblade: Huh??? What in the world are you talking about?

SageMode - 4/15/2012, 4:37 PM
BLADESBLADE

Yes, please lemme see these IMAGINARY negative tweeted reactions from the "normal" people (whatever that means).
PeterDarker121 - 4/15/2012, 4:41 PM
@bladesblade For MANY filmgoers around the world young and old alike, this WILL be as culturally important as STAR WARS. Though the REALITY of an AVENGERS film is only 4 years young, the hope of one is nearly 50 years old.

If it's HALF as cool as me and my friends IMAGINED it COULD be 30 years ago while we were throwing around garbage can lids in the back yard taking turns being Cap (cheesy but true), a LOTTA people are gonna be truly happy!
DrRockso - 4/15/2012, 4:43 PM
Nice penis
PeterDarker121 - 4/15/2012, 4:50 PM
@GUNSMITH By the way, DOPE poster!!
Hawksblueyes - 4/15/2012, 4:55 PM
bladesblade: Last time I checked, this site was called....ComicBookMovie.com.... Therefore, we (although I have been absent quite a bit lately, I still say "we") try our best to bring people the latest information on any and all "ComicBookMovies."

I'm not sure but I believe people have been anticipating this film for some time now and we're finally getting the first reactions from those who were lucky enough to see it. Also, it opens worldwide over the next few weeks as opposed to other CBMs that.....DON'T.

If you don't like having an Avengers overload, I suggest you stay away from this site for about the next month or so, or maybe a year. You may want to check out a site called something like NoComicBookMovieNews.com, at least until promotion and enthusiasm for The Avengers dies down just a little bit.

Just sayin. ;P
SageMode - 4/15/2012, 5:16 PM
Excellent retort @HAWKSBLUEEYES
Cartoon22 - 4/15/2012, 5:41 PM
@bladesblade dude you're on CBM.com and the AVENGERS is the fricking cbm that we have been wanting ever since we were little kids and never thought it would be made and now is here ! And it hasn't premiered yet only to those few lucky ppl that got an early screening. So the avengers news is gonna be hitting strong till and after it releases so you might want to stay off this site or just click on old dc news lol when the tdk releases stuff it will be on here too it's not like CBM.com is just picking to put AVENGERS news it's why's coming now and there's alot of anticipation for the movie to come out on MAY 4 which is only a couple of weeks left( I can't wait!!!!!!!) . Oh and can you post those tweets from what you call ""regular"" people ? What ever that means? I'm sure they liked the movie too! I haven't seen one negative thing about this movie ! THE AVENGERS MAY 4 epic Arrives!
ModernAvenger89 - 4/15/2012, 5:44 PM
Can someone please tell me the character in Gunsmith's poster? Is that Thanos. Help would be much appreciated.
ArmoredAsgardian - 4/15/2012, 5:44 PM
@Bladesblade, Really? "Planted" fabricated Twitter reviews? Someone's running out of ammo LOL.
And FYI, most of the Twitter posts (the U.S. ones) weren't from fans, just "normal" critics. Keep on trollin.
Cartoon22 - 4/15/2012, 5:48 PM
@asgardianGangsta lol blade is too funny hahaha

Well this isn’t the movie I’ve been waiting to see my entire life since I was a kid. Manly because I’m not Marvel fanatic nor Avengers fans with the exception of a few characters. But if a movie is good it’s good, I’m willing to give it a try, if this movie is successful as it’s being hyped up to be, then good for them it’s well deserved. An Ace is an Ace you can’t call it any other way.

I will agree that Marvel fans does love to pick on DC fans and then DC fans retaliate by hating everything that is Marvel and vice versa. If the Marvel fanbase annoys you then stay away from there threads, if DC fans annoy you then stay away from DC threads. With that being said I would like to hear what the other critics have to say, people who are not big into the Geek community. That goes for the superhero movies coming out this year.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/15/2012, 6:23 PM
GUNSMITH@ Ultron would be badass villain for the second movie!:)
