Kick-Ass was a rather nice surprise in 2010. It was a very different comic book film, quite brutal, funny, but also emotional. Director Matthew Vaughn made a film that many people talked about, and it was a success at the box office and home media market. So, it is no surprise fans wanted to see a sequel, and now after many talks and rumors, Kick-Ass is a go. Vaughn will not direct it, but he will stay as a producer. Jeff Wadlow is set to helm this upcoming sequel, which will start shooting this Fall. Talking to Collider, Aaron Johnson confirmed that the film will be rated R, saying that "Oh, yeah! It keeps the standard, from the first film. I think now Chloe [Grace Moretz] and Chris [Mintz-Plasse] are on board. I’m certainly set up to do it. Jeff Wadlow is to direct."

Whether he is surprised about how much people want to see a sequel, Johnson said, "Yeah, and I think that’s why Matthew Vaughn has got his name all over this one, as well. The only way he was ever going to make a sequel was if it could be anywhere close to the first one, and keep that class and that quality, and just maintain something original and new and refreshing. And this script delivers all of that, right now. I’m excited to get back in the suit." So, what do you think? Are you looking forward to another chapter?

Im interested in this sequel. Should be fun to see the two main characters again, some years later.

both actors are good, so its a plus
marvel72 - 6/16/2012, 8:36 AM
it really couldn't be anything less than r-rated,some of the shit that went down in the comic,i'll be surprised if it makes the final cut very dark.
HULK2099 - 6/16/2012, 8:39 AM
I cannot wait! I wonder who's gonna be casted as the team of heroes
Spidey31 - 6/16/2012, 8:43 AM
Ya he was almost casted as Peter Parker in TASM as was josh huctherson. Hmm I wonder if Aaron Johnson would have made a better Parker than Garfield?
SUPERMAN2013 - 6/16/2012, 9:07 AM

Kick Ass 2 the comic is coming out as well by Mark Millar your not missing anything with the comic its not as funny, way more depressing and doesn't look as iconic as the movie
VinzClortho - 6/16/2012, 10:06 AM
He was good in that John Lennon film! Can't wait for Savages!

Rated 'R' ? - what?, like the studios made such a fuss about not censoring Prometheus and it being an 'R'.

Kick Ass 2 an 'R' rating... I'll believe it when i see it.
TheMyth - 6/16/2012, 11:12 AM
SimyJo, ummm, dude, the first one was Rated-R and banned in Australia... Guess you missed that eh?

@TheMyth,

Ahh, we must have different ratings to you then.
'R' ratings are reserved for pornos and extremely over-the-top adult scenes here.
Kick-Ass wasn't even an 18 certificate here, it was a 15 certificate.
White - 6/16/2012, 12:45 PM
Well I can't imagine Kick-Ass 2 to be PG-13 or low violence and no blood or gore. Rated-R is only way with this movie.
hope420 - 6/16/2012, 1:05 PM
Kickass 2, rated R, same main cast members! I'm down!
nerdman81 - 6/16/2012, 3:06 PM
Who cares? The first movie was complete crap! The only saving grace was Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl! The ONLY good thing about that stinker!
jasonicus - 6/16/2012, 3:13 PM
Kick Ass 2 sucked. I don't have high expectations for the movie.
JosephKerr - 6/16/2012, 3:24 PM

RisingQuantum - 6/16/2012, 9:55 PM
6 Kick Ass movies? 2-3years between each one and hit girl is pushing 30.
thisheart - 6/16/2012, 10:56 PM
I haven't read the newer kick ass books but the movie is better than the first one, so I'm definitely down to give this a go. Shame that Nic Cage won't be in it though, for all the other shit he does, his Big Daddy redeems him as a human being, in my mind. Oh, and Chloe.....rules.
IronSpider101 - 6/17/2012, 1:27 AM
I thought the original Kick-Ass started off good, but god incredibly bad as it went along.

Don't have high hopes, but I may see it.
ImnotDaredevil - 6/17/2012, 3:15 AM
F**k you Mr. Bitey.
darkmetal - 6/17/2012, 5:57 AM
Millar is one of the few current big name comic book writers whos NOT overrated. I'd love too see what he could do with Marvel or DC film or TV scripts.
Millar's MK Spider-Man with Dodson and Cho was one of the few good Spider-Man reads in the past 20 years.
If DC ever gets their live action act together, someone like Millar may be able to help them kick some butt. Not Marvels butt because Marvel and DC share the same film genre. If one goes down they both do. If one goes up they both do!!!!!!!
ISeeStupidPeople - 6/17/2012, 4:55 PM
Chloe Moretz would be the only reason I bother watching this.

And I say that in the most non-pedo way possible.
manofmidgard - 6/17/2012, 9:25 PM
i loved kiss-ass and was really wanting a sequel but haven't they waited toolong? i mean, aren't those kids gonna be all grown up now?
ralfinader - 6/18/2012, 5:04 AM
Kick-Ass kicked ass, and I am hoping Kick-Ass 2 kicks ass too. No way in hell they can make another one after this without recasting everyone, though.
