Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) – there is no one Quaid can trust, except possibly a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) working for the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy). The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate. The film is directed by Len Wiseman. The screenplay is by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback and the screen story is by Ronald Shusett & Dan O'Bannon and Jon Povill. The producers are Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe.

I haven't read the original Phillip K. Dick novel, but from what I understand, the whole Mars thing was completely made up for the Ah-nold movie. And as much as I treasure the crap movies of my youth, this one looks much, much better than the original. I think, however, if Hollywood is going to reboot movies, they should take really bad movies and make them good, instead of pretty good movies and giving us 50/50 odds on their quality.
R888 - 6/27/2012, 5:30 PM
This looks good, Im sold at the three boobs :)
SiriusC - 6/27/2012, 5:32 PM
I just rewatched Total Recall. Haven't seen that movie since I was a kid. After recently seeing it then seeing this preview, it's the exact same thing just with a lot more glitter. That's what I hate about these remakes. There's style, but there's zero original substance.
AlexDeLarge87 - 6/27/2012, 5:33 PM
Looks ok but damn if they dont show that prostitute´s three boobs in the film Hollywood has become serious pussy.
CasualFanatic - 6/27/2012, 5:43 PM
Just read a synopsis of the short story. He dreamed of Mars, never went there, but he had a memory erased where he had actually been on Mars. So...I'm going to read the story, watch the new movie, and then figure out how faithful it is...and if I really care.
BIGBMH - 6/27/2012, 5:45 PM
looks awesome!
soforizo - 6/27/2012, 5:55 PM
That looks tight!
Oxbow - 6/27/2012, 6:02 PM
agree with SiriusC. AND I saw all the good parts in the last couple of previews. So....why should I pay money for this????? I already know the story and I've just seen all the bells and whistles too. That's the problem with hollywood, they make shitty remakes and then whore out all the good parts just to tempt people into seeing it
bane187 - 6/27/2012, 6:10 PM
Badass hopefully not a flop
DudeGuyMan - 6/27/2012, 6:12 PM
Only thing good about this film is Bryan Cranston...

@weneedrevelation
I stand corrected. 4 things!
themann11 - 6/27/2012, 6:12 PM
That does look pretty bad ass...I might go check it out depending on the pre release reviews...Ebert where are you?

@MrTinman, what the hell is with all the "ermmm" all the time?! It's friggin annoying.
mgeoff88 - 6/27/2012, 7:30 PM
That actually looks pretty good for a remake. That was definitely better than the first trailer.

Having three hands is also very helpful if you want be become a pro juggler. :P
Ghostt - 6/27/2012, 7:56 PM
I know people get grumpy about remakes, but this looks badass. Kate and Jessica are the two most beautiful actresses around. And Colin is cool, regardless of haters.
Tainted87 - 6/27/2012, 9:00 PM
Crushing your target with a hug seems effective when you weigh about 70-80lbs less than him....
marvelstudios - 6/27/2012, 9:44 PM

LAXtremest - 6/27/2012, 10:09 PM
Anyone got a name on the 3 tit woman? She looks hot as [frick].
NeoBaggins - 6/27/2012, 10:52 PM
Can't front. Looks pretty damn dope. Definitely checking this out and I loved the original. Good to see Bokeem Woodbine back on the screen too. Intense actor and hasn't aged.

Makes LOCKOUT and DREDD look like SyFy channel "original" movies. But hey, ya never know.
Ceejay - 6/27/2012, 11:06 PM
In the book he only dreams of going to Mars, he doesn't actually go there in the story. This movie is a remake of the Paul Verhoven version in most ways but still keeps that element from the original book.

Looked better than the 90's films from the minute they announced the cast and the director. Len Wiseman always delivers as far as I'm concerned.
Spectre94 - 6/28/2012, 12:50 AM
Never seen the original but that looks pretty cool. I'm definitely excited to see that. I'm always a sucker for a sci-fi thriller, especially with Kate Beckinsale
SkullFace616 - 6/28/2012, 1:41 AM
Yeah I can't wait to see this. :o)
greenlanternsF - 6/28/2012, 6:21 AM
im liking it, looks way better than original teaser
PapaMidnight - 6/28/2012, 7:52 AM
They should've named this film TOTAL SHIT... i'm not against all reboots, but this one smells really bad, disposable, video-clip-full-of-flares piece of garbage. Lens Wiseman is a terrible director.

Now I can realise better the taste in movies of many commenters here...
