Selma Blair On The Apocalyptic Setting Of HELLBOY 3; Hopes That The Project Will Happen

Even though it has been four years since the second film, the third chapter in the Guillermo del Toro-directed Hellboy franchise is still just a possibility. But, actress Selma Blair is hoping that the project will happen eventually. Check it out...

It seems like every year we are getting closer to a third Hellboy film, but at the end, nothing really happens. Hellboy (2004) and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008) are very much liked by the fans and comic book movie community, so it's not a surprise everybody wants to see the third and final film. Talking to Bloody-Disgusting about her new film In Their Skin, Selma Blair also shared some of her thoughts on Hellboy III and how she is very much hoping that it will happen. More below:

"It’s my dream to work with Guillermo del Toro again. I just want to be near him. I love him. I miss him. It’s my dream that one day when I’m done with the TV Show [Anger Management] they say, ‘ok the movie’s actually going to go!’ That would be the biggest heaven.

I mean it’s all set up. ‘Hellboy 3′ is the biggest payoff and the biggest horror. I want to see what these twins are up to, if one’s the devil and one’s an angel. I want to see what Hellboy and Liz are up to! I know the film is the apocalypse and the apocalypse isn’t cheap to shoot so we have to find some funding and get going with it!"

This all sounds pretty spectacular, so hopefully the project will happen... someday, at least. So, what are your thoughts on the third Hellboy film?

Maybe if all us fans re-buy Hellboy and Hellboy II on blu ray and all go see Pacific Rim and help it do big business it'll get the go ahead. But we'd have to buy them after Pacific Rim to show that the interest in in del Toro. LET'S DO IT! Family Guy and Futurama came back from the grave because of home video sales, is it crazy to think a movie might get the greenlight because of the same thing?

I'll be heartbroken if this trilogy doesn't get finished...I mean really hurt...when the first one came out it was a solid CBM while Marvel and DC were chasing their tails around....

I want this to happen so bad. They should o it before Selma get's too old.

I'd never read Hellboy until the movie came out now I'm hooked on the Mignoliaverse. Was surprised to find how different the book is from the movies but they both seem to work somehow.

Just look at the differences between Abe's personality, appearance and abilities. If only people were as willing to embrace change with other franchises.
